Reiver Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I swear, I get more gauntlet's thrown by Billy Bob in his SUV than anything.... trying to tip them over in roundabouts to stay up with the 7. Has that been classified as a mental issue yet?
Christopher smith Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Let's all remember these SUV guys are the same ones that think, because their all wheel drive has traction to start moving on ice/snow, that it can stop and corner just fine also. Keep your seat belts tight! 1

Keep your seat belts tight! You drive on RT422 a lot, don't you

Keep your seat belts tight! My wife fell into that category with her Jeep Cherokee. She's a nurse -- retired now -- and had to get to work despite the weather, so the Jeep was a good choice. But she learned the hard way about "going" in snow being a poor indicator of how well "turning and stopping" would work. Drove off the road into a field, came back home with the proverbial tail between the legs, lesson learned, fortunately without major damage to her or the Jeep. I haven't been challenged by anyone yet while driving the 7. Then again I don't really drive it in places where that sort of thing happens. I'm lucky enough to have a wealth of little rural roads to run on, the kind that scare Verstappen wannabes in SUVs! 2
Vovchandr Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I think it really depends on the area. I don't personally have had a lot SUV challengers, nor anybody else really for that matter.

It is a really nice nostalgic look at their race car technology which is approximately 80 % short oval, paved and dirt, 15 % drag racing oriented and maybe 1-2% sports cars. I certainly admire how some of the cars have coupled 1950s sort of thinking with cutting edge stuff, depending on their rules. Kind of like some of our 7s. Great fun to watch racing although not in January. Surprising to see the hot set-up for dirt oval cars includes tires that look like a perfect match for the 1960 or so Dunlop R5 formula 1 tyre. 1
Reiver Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Hwy 93 in Az...in my area there are multiple round a bouts and it seems every day lately (drive the 7 a lot btw) I get an SUV trying to pass and stay with my in the circles. We are on the way to Las Vegas from Phx..... who knows.
MV8 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Well, they can try.... Bonus points for them seeing you. You wouldn't happen to have a ten foot pole, do you? Treat them like poop. Don't get any on you.
Christopher smith Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I worried about not being noticed by stupid SUV drivers so I fly a rather large Union Jack from the top rear of my roll cage. I know they should hear me coming with the ineffective muffler and high revs.
Anthem Posted April 14 Posted April 14 For me it use to be Mini Van's with middle aged men on a milk/tampon run, that thought they would have their dream car by now. Al Bundy comes to mind. LOL
