I'm using Bring a Trailer to sell my car, trailer, and other items to make a track-ready package.  Per BaT's rules, if you have any interest please look to BaT instead of inquiring through USA7's.  I will reply here with a link to the BaT ad once it goes live.

For those of you with history of the car or just feel like participating, I would be very grateful if you would comment in the BaT ad with whatever you feel is appropriate.  Thanks!

This is my first time selling on BaT, so if you happen to look at the auction and have any thoughts on how I might improve please do share.  The good folks at BaT re-wrote the ad I prepared in an awkward sort of way, and short of correcting factual errors I'm living with what they think is best.  However, I do have control over how I respond to questions and comments.

A 1972 Europa Twin Cam auction just ended on BaT yesterday. Have a look at the text and photos. Then read the comments from bottom up. Pay particular attention to how long the Seller took to make his first post and then how the auction went downhill from there. This is a prime example of how NOT to win friends and influence people. There is a link to an older BaT auction in my comment. It is to one of the best ads I’ve seen on BaT.

Bottom line, engage with the bidders and answer all their questions as you are doing. It doesn’t hurt to throw in your own stories. I have also won once on BaT.

BaT has a strange way of wording things but they are consistent and I think they believe it is part of what makes BaT, BaT. Don't worry about it.

As a seller, just be responsive and civil. "The customer is always right" and all that. Don't take the bait from the inevitable trolls. Your pictures look good and the car is tempting, good luck!

Sage advice, thanks @wdb!

So far, it looks pretty good.  I have both bought and sold cars on BAT.

Thanks @pethier, appreciate the gut check.

Oh boy, point well taken @theDreamer.  That auction went off the rails early in a completely avoidable fashion.  I'd like to think that my nature is one that would avoid such silliness, but will be mindful that even an innocent misstep can get things moving in the wrong direction.

I've experienced buying on BaT.  Sellers make or break an auction more than how BaT rewrites your words.

The advice, and more importantly what not to do from above, are spot on.

My advice is to be engaged and forthcoming with answers as best you can, and if you have documentation, share it.

Exactly. Whether buyers realize it or not on old cars and online auctions they are really buying the seller more than the car. If the seller is forthcoming and open then it makes it feel safe to commit.

A seemingly perfect car from a sketchy seller is a worse purchase then a car that needs work with EVERYTHING disclosed and explained.

@demoray and @Vovchandr, thanks for taking the time to respond.  So far the comments and questions have been more than reasonable so easy to respond to, and @Kitcat and the original owner, Mark McClure have both jumped in to help.
