Can you provide a report of what troubleshooting/testing/partitioning been done since this thread started?

 

Took it to the shop this morning, drove it hard, car was running amazingly well, didn't cut off once, and I was video ready (of course). 

Trying to find an exorcist.  Fuel pump is hard to reach so we'll explore more alternatives before going that route.

Yes, the OBD2 reader didn't show anything other than the O² sensor missing (been there since day one)

If you don't have a functioning O2 sensor I'm not sure I follow the fuel pump causing engine shutoff unless your pump is stopping for long enough you are fully running out of fuel to the injectors.  There would be no lean signal for the ECU to use to cut spark

I'm going out on a limb and assume it's missing downstream o2 which is somewhat common on cats

The symptoms don't seem to me to point to a bad fuel pump.  If the pump stopped, doesn't seem like relieving all load on the engine (clutch) would result in instant restart.  It should need to rebuild fuel pressure or at least have a bubble of air.  Still think vibration from torque load (+ or -) is messing with a sensor.  Low Oil pressure reading telling ECM to shut down?  Anything telling the ECM do shut down would do it

News of the day (not saying that it's fixed).  Replaced the coil pack, battery and spark plugs wires (not saying that was the cause). I drove it for about 30-40 minutes with no troubles. Car pulls hard to 7k+ rpm, idling stable at 1,100 rpm.  Engine starts right away. I'll drive it more tomorrow and Monday (unfortunately I'm swamped with work).

Mine will likely stay home as I need to drive the truck to retrieve the RV I left up there after the Indycar race.  I've not explored towing two trailers at once.  But...  I may have a couple of spare tickets to the Reunion.

It appears that defective coil pack was the culprit.

Congratulations, I had a similar issue when I was reviving my car earlier this year. Plugs, wires, coil pack, went further with fuel filter (2003 dated), proper injectors (high impedance vs low impedance, ECU spec for high), alternator belt, and fuel lines (originals cracked from age and modern fuel additives). New tires a few weeks ago as the ones on the car aged out........Just food for thought.
