In meantime I got a few giggles for

 

IMSOSMAL or IMSOSMOL variety for young kids lingo

IMO , SLNGSHT is too close to Slingshot  which is its own similar creature,  but not a 7.

It's perfect for a Slingshot.

Wasn’t/isn’t the screen name of one of the originators (or maybe THE originator) of the site SLNGSHT?  He put a V8 into his Rotus.

 Yes on both counts.  Mazda founded the site in 2005 and drove a V8 Rotus named Frankn7.

I have an old Jaguar that I vanity tagged in Maryland (7 characters) DGSBOLX. I rolled the dice thinking they would probably red flag it but they didn't. Not many people get it, but those who do give it a big thumbs up and a laugh out loud. A great ice breaker.

On that thought, a good one for a Caterham would be a play on "The Cat's Pajamas".

Perhaps CATS PJS. (Ontario can have 8 characters including a space.)
