Very elegant! No idea where you find the time to do such precise work! Obviously, you have great mechanical talent as well. What did you decide for resolving any future collapsed suspension issues? Cant wait to see the finished product. Maybe at some track day at Putnam Park, 40 miles west of Indy???

Yes, Putnam Park is on the radar. As for preventing a possible future suspension collapse...ah...maybe stay away from TWS. :jester:

I think your choose to use a Hydramat is a good one. Flat bottom tanks are a real problem. I am on the 3rd or 4th iteration on my tank and I am still not happy. I currently have an external fuel pump a surge tank mounted inside the tank. The tank is foam filled with an open sump area over the surge tank. I still have to keep the tank full of fuel, I re-fill after every track day session. At the moment "keep it full" is the answer for me, but I think a new tank or a Hydramat will be the next stop.

I'll report back on the Hydramat once the car is running (not sure how soon that will be). But from my understanding, the 'mat' should pick up fuel as long as fuel is touching the mat (doesn't even have to be completely submerged in fuel to work). I think the mat, along with some sort of baffling system/foam, may be the answer a lot of us have been searching for.

A few more bits and pieces. Fabbed panels for mounting the engine computer / electrical / etc.; steering shaft cover (cut the old one down, reused it). And the Storker now has a pair of wings.

Last photo - Is that Suave casually chucked into a tool box? I see legs....

 

 

By the way - do you plan to paint those wing vents from the current black? I think a color match would look good. Suave is good at painting eh?

Yes, that's Suave's little hiney hanging out there; his attempt at photo bombing. Either that, or he's still passed out from too much moonshine.

 

No plans to change the louvers from black to 'alien' green.

 

Croc, I have been looking at those wing vents and thinking how cool they look in black. To my eyes, it is a striking contrast with the bright "lime" green or whatever color it is called.

 

See there, Croc, Astro Bob is all in on the contrast. And I bet brother Less is of the same opinion. :p

I bent some 3/8" solid aluminum tubing. To do it, I tightened down two pieces of round steel tubing in my vise, leaving about 1" in between. I then bent the aluminum tubing to shape. Then I cut the stalks to length on both ends, drilled holes, then tapped them to the proper thread size. This was an easy project.

Hello Ducks! For the record I do NOT drink moonshine. A little aged bourbon with some ice, sipped to savor is my preference. I am a classy stork you know.

 

And honestly Shane has no sense of style or color coordination. I think the color coding of seasick green should be carried through further. Also a blue contrast just does not work. The color of your boxer shorts does not need to be seen!
