MightyMike
Nothing special. Don't worry about the shelf flexing.
MightyMike
I also just noticed your 90s on the heater ports of the water pump going to the surge tank. What is the idea there? I was told to simply block off the heater hose ports. My cooling system will be slightly different, though. Sorry - missed the last part. When setting up my cooling system, I referred to the cooling bible on Pirate4x4's website: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Cooling/ The only thing I decided to do differently was to run a line from my expansion tank to the smaller outlet port behind the thermostat instead of the larger port. I figured any trapped air would be behind the thermostat and not in front of it. No cooling problems so far.
MightyMike
Just got my new aluminum fenders installed. They look fantastic, much better than the originals, but I may have to move them forward about 1 inch on both sides. I spent most of my free time today scraping off the protective plastic cover. Once finished, I will sand the top, undercoat the undersides, paint, and rhino line/linex the forward facing surfaces. For good measure, I will probably clear bra the painted surfaces. Still waiting on the engine wiring harness. http://i39.tinypic.com/295x2fd.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/jz8pbs.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/2hx1rbd.jpg

Alaskossie
Mike, What sort of kit did you use to re-locte your spark plug coils? Where are they located now?
Alaskossie
Mike, That should be "re-locate".

MightyMike
Tom, Coils are now mounted below the headers instead of on top. Not sure why I didn't think of this before. The driver side wires aren't as well organized as the passenger side. Instead, the coil packs are mounted directly to the engine and wires run under the motor mount to the plugs. http://i42.tinypic.com/26455dc.jpg
MightyMike
New Easy Performance engine wiring harness arrived today. This thing is tiny (& light) compared with the GMPP harness! Everything is cut to length. I measured everything twice, so it ought to go on with no problems. http://i40.tinypic.com/9to58k.jpg
xcarguy
Mike, Looks great, and very compact. Please take, and post, pics of the harness install; both here and Gallery.
MightyMike
Harness in, but not finished. O2 sensor connectors required male connectors, but harness came with female connectors. Also, the camshaft position sensor is the wrong type. I think it is for an LS1/LS6. I'll just have EZ performance mail me the proper connectors next week. I'll get some photos posted sometime today. Mike, If possible, once you receive your correct parts, can you post photos of the connectors and sensors (correct and incorrect) side-by-side and label which is which for your engine? MightyMike
My Storker's interior has more shiny carbon fiber. I had the pieces milled at Protech Composites. The folks at Protech were super helpful. It's also kinda hard to see in the photo, but I took some 1.75" aluminum c-channel and fashioned a real nice pair of arm rest sills. The edges are all nicely rounded. They are coated with PlastiDip for now, but I will probably have them powder coated when I take my headers/exhaust down to get their ceramic coating. http://i42.tinypic.com/mw8fm9.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/nzmvl3.jpg
xcarguy
Super job, Mike! Looks great. BTW, how do you like the PlastiDip? I've been considering some uses for the product, but have never tried it, nor do I have any experience with it.
MightyMike
Thanks Shane! Spray-on PlastiDip is easy to work with as long as you spray it on in thin coats. The stuff dries to the touch rather quickly at room temperature, but it is best to let a finished piece to sit overnight before putting into service. My neighbor used PlastiDip on a set of wheels and the result was very professional looking. They seem to be holding up well.

coffee break
"They are coated with PlastiDip for now, but I will probably have them powder coated when I take my headers/exhaust down to get their ceramic coating." I'm looking to have my header ceramic coated. Is ceramic coating the same process as power coating but with a different material applied?
MightyMike
I am reasonably certain the application process is the same, not sure after that. Here's a link to the outfit here in Denver that I will go to. Their website may detail the specific process used for each type. http://appliedplastic.com/
