Does anyone know of any a female that owns/owned a 7? I have, somewhere, a 1960s ad with a woman driving a S1, implying that it was for women too. In 1977 just weeks before going to England to buy my S2 I did see a woman driving one on Kingston Road in Toronto. I tried to catch her up, but, my girlfriend was with me, and I was only driving a 1976 Firebird….

Anyway, just was curious.

I have heard that the wife of Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) owns one, or did own one not long ago.

Back when I was actively involved on BlatChat (some years ago now), there was at least one woman who owned one and was involved in the club. I don't remember her name now, but as I recall, she lived on Corsica or something like that.

I would say that my wife is as much an owner of my car as I am. Here are a couple of shots of her getting ready to take our kids for a ride; one in a Birkin at MSR Cresson in 2009 and the other in our Stalker earlier this year.

I have come across quite a few women who race and hillclimb them in the UK. Pretty quick too! My wife would like to drive but she has never driven a manual and probably can't reach the pedals!

Members of the UK Lotus Seven club would also be aware of the fatal accident that took the life of driver Sandra Harrison-Moore on an event last year. The memorial event actually takes place this weekend.

Although my wife has driven mine, there is a locally-well known long-time Lotus seven owner and racer, Pat Kelly. She was in her 70's and still autocrossing it almost a decade ago. Her husband raced it too, but it was very very clear that it had always been her race car since the 60's. She and her husband published North Amercan Pylon, an autocross newspaper. Here's a pic of her yellow S2 Seven (scroll down), although not sure if she or John is driving.

As I remember-- last year a lady driver was killed in a freak Caterham accident in the UK. Seems like it hit something with the top of the cockpit or something like that, and it wasnt fully caged.

I know of 2, both with Lotus series 2 cars. One in PA who actively drives hers an another in MA who doesn't. Both women were at LOG 33, only one brought a car.

Rahul in post #7 already mentioned us, but here's picture of the ladies in my life:

The wife and I are fairly regular visitors to the track and we always take both and drive whichever. I've had some really dodgy comments though. One conversation went something like this:

"Hey - this yours? Nice."

"Both these are." (pointing to GT-R and Seven)

"You brought two cars?"

"One for me, one for the wife."

"You let your wife drive your cars?"

(uh-oh - sensing trouble here)

"What? They're OUR cars, WE drive them."

"Oh. Well, I guess the GT-R has all the traction control stuff - she should be fairly safe in that."

"She is driving the Seven today."

...and then I turned my back on him before I said something really rude.

Probably lucky for them they said this to you instead of her. And anything that either of you would do in response would be totally justifiable.

There is a lady in Wichita that has a Birkin and her boyfriend drives a Stalker. Russ

My wife seems to find the seven just the right size to carry her latest knitting projects to her friends.

Rosemarie is still waiting for me to put her '76 Caterham back together. Would go a lot quicker if the "honeydo" list quit leading to so many "while-we're-at-might-as-well" distractions...sure can stretch out projects. Shipwrights disease run amuck on too many fronts!

A$$ deep in building a new 40' motorhome on a GMC Topkick cab/chassis...so the Caterham is gathering dust in the corner.
