Guest Terry
Over the past few years I have started many threads on this forum that have had some enthusiastic following, sadly many of those threads have been hi jacked. Most of the people who know me know that I'm a Caterham dealer, why because in my opinion it's the best of the bunch. (No apology) Although I appreciate the energy that has gone into many of the copies that exist and appreciate any car that gives the driver a hands on experience that can't be purchased in the local showroom I have little time for the many defensive people on this forum who consistently de-rail other peoples posts due to their own insecurity. I wish all my friends on this forum the very best for the future. No response to this post will be forthcoming.

Paul Hill
I am sure I am not the only one who will miss your educated opinions and thoughtful observations, not to mention your dedication to fun events! I sincerely hope our paths can cross again somewhere. Maybe I can get my own personal sh*t in a pile and participate in one of your tours, even though they are on the wrong side of the country! Stay well my cyber friend!

Davemk1
Sorry to see you giving up something you enjoy based on the actions of others. I hear what you are saying and at the same time disagree. In the end forums like this are about dealing with other people and nothing else. Sure we all have something in common that draws us to this place but the real attraction is the others that are here and the knowledge, experience and humor those other people have. So if it gets to the point where a given user feels that too many of the others here are not the type of people they want to hang with then there's little attraction. I've had this happen with other forums and it's sad when it happens but it does happen. If it's not controlled and the bickering outweighs the cool content in the eye of the user then they will leave......and if too many of the non-bickerer's leave the balance will quickly slide toward folks arguing about who's the smartest/strongest/fastest and the place will have little redeeming value. This is what makes the job of a mod so difficult IMO. I do not mean to speak for the gentleman who's on his way out the door but just say I can't blame him and would never say he shouldn't leave just because of the others. I hope the tone can return to a healthy one soon. All the best, dave
ihckb2
I've noticed a few threads going way off topic. Its unfortunate a few have to spoil it. Maybe the administrator needs to take a few people off the site for a while. We all have great cars. It is all in the eyes of the beholder. I for one would miss Terry's input and I will miss, as well, the others that are having a problem with this whole thing if they were to be taken off the site for a while. We are supposedly all adults here.
speedwagon
I have little in common with most of the people here, but we all have the cars in common, some of us are not the most polite or smart but we all share a common interest. Please stay! and kick back a bit, life is not meant for worrying. some 65 years ago I got the best advice from a fellow drunk teen " I was not put on this earth to make friends-- that I do by accident" the advice has served me well. CASwede
There are many of us who post rarely, but read intently, and I'll miss Terry's insight. Cheers.
TurboWood
This is strange for me to see on this forum. I'm not the most diversified guy when it comes to forum experience, but I have not seen a better group than the guys on this site. I hope Terry can find what he's looking for in a car community. xcarguy
Daniel, I didn't/don't know Terry, and while I didn't always agree with what he said, I did respect his right to post here. Terry had some differing opinions about the various brands represented on the forum as well as some concerns about the hijacking of threads he had started. Several forum members hated to see him leave; I was one of those. Again, while I didn't always agree with what he said, I could respectfully agree to disagree. Every time a forum member leaves, that's one less member we have in an already small community. But you are correct, this is (overall) a great group and this is a fun and very informative forum. bigdog
I didn't know Terry either as I'm new to the forum, So my opinion of him is neutral with one caveat. When one is the OP of a thread. It does not denote ownership of said thread. However, If the thread gets way, way off topic and or gets abusive, Then it's the job of the moderators to move the diversion to another area or delete it. I personally find it very hard to blather on without a variance in topic. Unless we start posting in the manner of tweets (140 characters max per post). A monochromatic discussion of a subject might work in a courtroom or a boardroom but not on the internet. It's natural human behavior to meander while talking among ourselves. One of the things I like most about USA7s is our common love for 7s, regardless of make. The fact that Terry blatantly and repeatedly bashed other "lesser" kitcars was clearly a violation of the USA7s rules. With this, I called him out. In doing so I critiqued his comments, not him personally. Shortly after I asked Terry to re-read the USA7s rules, this is the PM that he sent me. http://i60.tinypic.com/2a4xqx0.jpg Bye Terry! :Chevy_anim:

powderbrake
. This has to be one of the friendliest, non confrontational forums that you are likely to find. Lets keep it that way. I believe it is time to lock this thread and move on.
Sean
Shortly after I asked Terry to re-read the USA7s rules, this is the PM that he sent me. I don't think posting a "private" message publicly is helping anything. :bs: Not cool, IMO.
MightyMike
I don't think posting a "private" message publicly is helping anything. :bs: Not cool, IMO. That's the method he chose, not me. For a little more about Terry's history bashing non-Caterhams, check out this thread... http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2420 Again, sorry to drag this on, but in order to keep this forum civil, we ought to be playing by the rules. Alaskossie
But Mike, who pasted the PM in message #12, anyway? Appears to be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.... or, "he said, he said...." Enough already!
MightyMike
Tom, You're right - I suppose enough is enough. I don't understand your comment about the pot calling the kettle black though. That's okay, I just have a public education. I never responded to his unsolicited PM; I just posted it to show why I would not miss him.
