Unusual mix of polished ali, painted metal in yellow and green fiberglass. Looks very nice. Owner says he drives it from FL to KY for car shows so big kudos there. Asking $34900 on Ebay starting bid with no bids. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-Kit-...m=191753051851 Anyone know the car? Owner is a USA7s forum member?" Croc, Yes he is a forum person. Look at the rear photo of the tall rollbar to see the USA7s sticker. I don't know if he wants me to out him. I recognized the tall roll bar because it is now on my Birkin. I know it is a cosmetic challenge, but I just thought the roll bar should extend higher than the driver's head. -Mark

I infer this as a 2002 Birkin although listed as a 1967 Lotus. Zetec engine with throttle bodies. Sort of looks like a Dick Brink car based on the spec and choice of upgrade parts (thats not a bad thing either). Quite a good list of upgrades. However.... I accept on the reproduce cost but 2002 Birkins going for $43k? Ummm...where? I just spent 30 minutes going through old price records back to 2008 and I cannot see a Birkin pricing over $40k unless it was brand new or within 1-3 years of new. 2002 year would put it into the 20s and low 30s based on prior sale comparables. Hell, I would sell my maroon 2002 Caterham SV with zetec for $35k if I was in the mind to sell. Seller asking $45k buy it now. Opening bid $39900 with zero bids and a day to go. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-series-3-/191706687848?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ca29be968&item=191706687848
mrmustang
Showed up in post #707 by our very own Croc.... Yup, a $20,000-$24,000 car all day long. $43,000, and I suspect he will be holding on to it for a very long time as there are Caterham's available in that price range, and sadly for the seller, he cannot see the differences between the two as they both look like originals 7's :banghead:....... Croc
To shut up whiny Xcarguy, here is a Stalker. And its the nicest Stalker I have seen this year. Originally for sale on race-cars.com at something like $4X,000, then had a pass in at Mecum auction, it is now on Fleabay at $29500 or best offer. And there are 20 of you watching the auction and not one of you posted here....so who is shopping for Christmas? I like its color scheme - a nice dark blue with white. The deep dish American Racing Wheels suit it beautifully. It has the 3.8L V6 supercharged. Lots of neat details are obvious that the build looks like a quality one. The photos are fuzzy which is sucky because it stops you from checking out some of those details. And it comes with a nice newish 2006 enclosed trailer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Other-Replica-/252206568066?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3ab8aed282:g:NYcAAOSwbdpWaJBT&item=252206568066 To continue keeping the whining from Houston at a minimum (hello Xcarguy...) I have another Stalker. And this is the "nicest ever built" or so the ad tells me. Probably true for TX ones anyway... Built and titled in 2009 as a 62 Lotus 7 Replica, being sold with no reserve. Brunton SuperStalker Street Legal and Track ready. This Brunton SuperStalker is one of the nicest ever built. Adult owned, daily driver reliable as it’s built with GM parts. Powered by a recently built GM L67 Supercharged motor putting out about 325 hp and instant torque, a T-5 5 speed transmission and Detroit Locker LSD. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, 11 second quarter miles, this car weighs 1725 lbs. and has a better power to weight ration than a Z-06 Corvette. Unbelievable cornering capability. I built this car with professional help and spared no expense. Well over $50k invested, all documented. Licensed and titled in Texas. Under 5000 miles since built, changing circumstances forces sale. Lotus Elise Seats Toyota MR2 Power Steering with quickener Autometer Pro Comp Gauges Custom removable roll cage Removable Steering wheel GAZ adjustable coil overs with heim jointed mounts Custom Aluminum Radiator (never runs hot in the TX heat) Custom removable roof Fuel Cell Extra Wheels for competition So much more! I like how it is adult owned. Makes a change from the other Stalker owners who are basically toddlers. Its another well done car. It has one of Mario's special hand made nose cone grills. Good details despite the subpar photography. Who makes the wheels on this car? I would not mind a set for the Holden... No reserve auction. Opening bid at $21k with no bids and 1 day 17 hours to run. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-/191755290097?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ca58185f1:g:rXIAAOSwcBhWX1FY&item=191755290097 Barney the Westfield in Tulsa OK is back this week asking $19950 http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/5326804103.html Dutton B+ project back again. Asking $5500... http://toledo.craigslist.org/cto/5324729906.html 1962 Lotus 7 freshly restored concours winner. Asking $43900 http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/5323168733.html All the Hemmings ads are still live from last week but the Hemmings format means the ads are dated and the cars could be no longer for sale. 1965 Lotus 7. SB 2077 This Seven probably came with a Ford 1500 non-crossflow engine. Sometime in the distant past a Lotus Ford Twin-Cam found its way into the engine compartment. Block casting is 120E 6015 which dates it as a MK I made from 1962 to 1967. A rare find in such original condition down to the unmodified front suspension, handbrake, Cosworth header, period steering wheel and original speedometer. The car could use some cosmetic attention and a few items. The engine is great with 200 pounds compression straight through and the Ford full synchro gearbox works nicely. If you have ever desired to own a real Lotus Super Seven don’t miss this opportunity. $29,995. http://classiccars.com/listings/view/751217/1965-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-washington-missouri-63090 1972 Lotus 7 S4 at a dealer for $44995 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/731934/1972-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-lutz-florida-33559 1969 Lotus 7 Offered is this quick and fun Lotus '7' racer! Series 4 frame with series 3 body and running gear! Powered by the Twin Cam. Not a show car, but well constructed and fun racer at a reasonable price. Price is "or best offer"..... Asking $32500 OBO http://classiccars.com/listings/view/715384/1969-lotus-seven-for-sale-in-spokane-washington-99208 And with that I am done for the year. Starting Thursday night I am traveling until Jan 10 which may make it difficult to run the search scripts. SO go hunting yourselves. Wishing a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All! panamericano
"Who makes the wheels on this car? I would not mind a set for the Holden... Croc, Who knows, but they look like steel wheels. Check any Nascar/roundy-round/oval racing magazine. Steel race wheels are fairly light and very cheap. I looked at some a few years ago, so dated info - 15 inch were about 18 pounds, strong, and $65. They will make any layout you want for that.
Oldfart
Thanks for all your finds this year Mike. I'm really surprised how crappy the pics for the black & white Stalker are, especially when it looks to be presented by a broker/re-seller. SB 2077 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/751217/1965-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-washington-missouri-63090 This one's interesting. It looks like a Lotus Cortina was pillaged for parts. You could sell off the twin cam motor, rare cortina steering wheel and rare cortina wheels to recoup some of the cost and build it back to an original pre-crossflow, but it looks like it will require a lot of additional work. At $30k and RHD, I'll bet it gets snatched up by someone in the UK.
