Croc Posted January 31 Author Share Posted January 31 Yes it has been around way longer than it should be. I assumed it was consignment and the owner was not adjusting down to meet the market. However, after all this time I think @slowdude is more likely right as consignment sellers eventually dump owners if they are not being realistic on price meeting the market as the advertising fees do tend to stack up. $40K for a Westfield is a high amount for that spec. I wonder where this car is now. Other things I noted in the video are the front turn signals are on stocks mounted to the nose. I’ve seen a couple of cars with motorcycle style turn signals there but never a factory car. Also, there is no “7” in the grill. When did they start adding that? What else have I missed? I found this on Wikipedia: Auberge is the eleventh studio album by British singer-songwriter Chris Rea, released in 1991. The album, as well as the title song, is notable for its association with the Caterham Super Seven that Rea owned, which he called the "Blue Seven". The car appears on the album cover, illustrated in oil by renowned motoring artist Alan Fearnley. The album makes several references to the car over several tracks, as well on the video of the title song, and its cover illustration was used for its adverts. In 2005, Rea sold the car in an auction. The car on display however was not his, at least not the car ued for both the cover and the video. Chris Rea’s personal seven was a 1987 Sprint with cycle wings. But it was nice cross branding having the plate read Auberge. It was an evolution of an earlier model he had been producing in very limited numbers. Does it remind you of anyone else's superlight, super-spartan, small-motored sports car which was first offered for sale in 1957? The Marcos sports car could be ordered with motors up to 1.172 CC. It is said that Jem March was unaware of Colin's new car, and this is possible because of pre-internet limited exposure. A few years later. Jem Marsh began producing his beautiful GT, first with a 4 cylinder motor, and finally with a Ford V6 (subject of the second image). With that car, his competition was the Jaguar XKE, and some period mags put the Marcos GT's performance on par with the XKE. The Marcos 750 (below) all the way up the GT were distinguished by lightweight wooden frames to which fiberglass was bonded (the marine plywood frames were completely sealed by fiberglass, to prevent rot). As a young man, I invested substantially (compared to my available resources) in a good-looking V6 GT, of which only about 149 were ever built. It needed paint and mechanical restoration. I bought all the parts, but during the rebuid the shop went bankrupt, and half my new parts went missing. Frustrated, I sold the project and never got to drive the completed car. it is one I wish I could have kept. PS - that is Jem March in the cockpit of the 750. I think that it may have had one big rebuild. Every time it’s been registered in a new state after that it shows up on the new state’s title as “Reconstructed”. Three different owners registering for the street, three different states reconstructed titles. The logic (if you think a State government can have logic...) is that the parts came from another car and were reconstructed. Once one state calls it reconstructed then the following states will. Its like virginity, once lost then never regained..... I don't think it was ever a salvage car but one afflicted with the quirks and sufferings of stupid state bureaucrats. In the beginning it was fairly limited - the USA7s Classified Section, Ebay, Hemmings and Craigslist - were essentially the only primary sources of where to look when buying a used Se7en. Now, Craigslist has disappeared thanks to its practice of adding listing fees plus sellers polluting key word searches. Ebay is rarely used. However, the USA7s Classified Ad section, Facebook MarketPlace and BringaTrailer have come to the front as the primary selling markets today. With 1.3 Million views and nearly 4000 postings, this section is by far the most active part of the USA7s forum. By consolidating the various ads into a single summary listing each week, we believe this is the best place to get a quick read of what Se7ens are available for sale in the market. Its not perfect as there are always some ads that get missed given the difficulties of electronically searching and capturing the listings for sale. However, its free to all who come to participate in the USA7s Club. USA7s does not get a commission or fee from any seller or buyer for this listing summary.
