Kitcat
The BDR engine alone is almost worth the price. You X-flow powered se7eners out there who are looking for a nice power bump should buy this, swap engines, and sell the X-flow powered S4 for $20K. Croc
Good to see the Robin Hood is moving down into a price band where it can be considered seriously for sale. Or is this a separate sister car to the earlier one advertised? I think it may be a new one with those wheels as the sister had the panasports? Coffee Break - can you clear up my confusion? The engine is the 1.6L Pinto. Sold in the UK in the Escort, Cortina and the Capri but not the US. There were two - one was 1593cc and the other was 1598cc. Power ranged from 60hp to a scorching 75hp. Not sure which one is this one in the Robin Hood. Not particularly exciting but good solid engines. Tom C/Birkin America is selling a Birkin on Ebay. 2013 Duratec. Lots of options. It's sad to part with my 1974 Lotus 7 S4 (The final final Original Lotus 7, made in 1973 and sold off as a 1974 before Caterham) Car. It is a Spec D Modified Street legal Race Car with a Formula Ford (Lotus) BDR 1700cc 16V (not A, R is more desirable) engine - tuned and setup for the street. The Engine is fully rebuilt with about a couple hundred miles on it and was rebuilt in the mid 90's, has the Firebottle system installed, Accu-pump Oil pressure system, Sump pump system, new battery, and a whole lot of other modifications - too many to list. I have most all of the receipts, restoration (body & engine) photos and also have many of the original and extra bits like the glass panels, top, side door panels, rear spare tire bracket, engine blanket, et al. Also, I'll throw in hoosier slicks (2 pairs) and wheels if the price is at asking. Currently the motor has a pair of Weber DCOE 45's, starts without an issue, and shifts really smooth. Car runs really strong. The frame is strait and no accidents. The car is sprayed in the GM Corvette Perl White with a very few minor flaws. Asking $23900. Both motors looked to be alike with the exception of carbs installed. The one in the listing has a DGAV type Weber and the other has a Sidedraft Weber. Also, the front end suspensions are different. The one for sale looks like something out of a sedan, the other one looks similar to Lotus/Caterham but not an exact copy. Clear as mud, right? Croc
Clear as mud, right? Well you confirmed that there are 2 cars and that they look very similar despite being different and they are seemingly in very different price brackets. I consider that a step forward. Alfonse
I had a 1.6 liter Pinto. It was a 1972 I believe. Pushrod OHV and it was just like a Cortina. Most Pintos were the 2.0 liter. I think some later ones were 2.3 liter. Anyway, there were some 1.6 liter Pintos sold in the U.S.

TheDingo8MyBaby
In the Golden Gate Lotus Club's chapman report: For Sale: 1970 Lotus 7 S4. This is the last genuine (made by Lotus) generation of the iconic 7. This example came with, and retains, a Lotus Twin-Cam engine. The VIN is LS42946TC--chassis numbers reportedly started at LS42650, which would make this the 296th car produced of about 700 made. While not as rare as the Series 1 or maybe the Series 3, the Series 4 is a very rare compared to the series 2 and more real and rare than a Caterham or any of the other pseudo-sevens. The S4 is longer and wider than its predecessors. I am 6'1" and do not fit in the S2/S3 cars, but I don’t have a problem in the S4. There is more leg and foot room too! This car is ready for café runs or to go to Peet's for coffee, as well as for Laguna Seca, or any other track. I did a body-off reconditioning using many new and re-built parts. Many additions for the track, such as driver safety equipment, and a fuel cell and a dry-sump oil system. All track additions are wrench removable and the factory stock items are included in the sale. This carhas wear and tear for sure, but also many improvements, especially for track use. Looking for offers no less than $16K. Many photos available. Con- tact: Stawsh at "Stawsh–at– Corsiglia.net" or (408) 264-6812.

Croc
Missed one earlier - the ultimate Superformance S1...asking $48000...oof! 300HP - LESS THAN 1,400LBS - QUAIFE SEQUENTIAL GEAR BOX - STREET LEGAL - What more could you want! This Superformance S-1 is truly a work of art. The previous owner spared no expense creating a truly unique S1 unlike any other. This one-owner vehicle would make an exceptional piece in any car enthusiast's collection or a track junkies dream! The original Lotus Super 7 was not designed to accommodate large passengers. Thus, the S-1 was designed to fix this flaw and to accommodate up to a 6'4" 250lb individual. Production of these vehicles ended in March of 2004, with only 56 vehicles produces. Since this vehicle has been built, it's seen little road use and even less track time. The S1 uses a 2.0L Ford Zetec engine with a Rotrex Supercharger mated to a Quaife sequential gear box. That's right, a $15,000 quaife sequential gear box! Total estimated cost of the build was over $65k. Vehicle comes with a the original wheels and a brand new set of Toyo Proxes R1R tires. For those who dare to drive this car to it's limits, the vehicle comes with a set of $5,000 American Racing Shelby AR-42 knockoffs. These wheels will allow for a wider foot print and more grip. All services up to date and all fluids are clean. This vehicle is street legal and ready for a new owner to drive to and from the track. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ohkAAOSwoBtW1uMP/s-l1600.jpg http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-/331792640379?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d4061e97b:g:ohkAAOSwoBtW1uMP&item=331792640379
Kitcat
The S1 above is similar spec to the $100K+ supercharged Caterham so is this a bargain? Does the roll-over design make any sense? Weird gauge placement. I wonder if the front cycle fenders are too small to fit? Overall I like it a lot. I mite steal the snorkel intake design.
