Will you be able to ship it to another state? Unfortunately, current laws do not allow me to sell by mail order... Maybe someday.

Tom tells me aging Bourbon on an ocean going ship is all the rage, so 1.5g in the corners should really work! That would definitely make it tax deductible. Then if I sell the car to Denning's Point Distillery, and our friends in the government extend the 179 deduction I can expense the car all at once. Shazam, 40% of the sale cost comes right off my personal income taxes. Croc, as a CFO can you approve this plan? Hopefully, 500# of Bourbon onboard won't hurt my lap times. Karl
Croc Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Hang it from the ceiling and it becomes a depreciable asset like fixtures & fittings. However, it is a pretty long depreciation life. And I just bet the IRS would not like you taking it out for a spin. Anyway, you are in start up so a ton of tax losses being generated right now since you have no revenue - exactly why you need to sell the car to fund the up front costs.... So not a good financial idea. Better idea is to generate revenue quickly and keep the car! I hope you are putting the distillery inside an Inc or LLC structure?

That means that the new corner weighting and upgraded brakes would be a "business expense" Sounds like the addition of a Supercharger also fits the Business model. :cheers: Tom

This would even out lap times and provide an abundance of 'aged' inventory for quick resale. Fast, upfront profits means you get to keep the Cat! Win, win! Of course, the product will need sampling at the end of each day.

Truly the 'patience is a virtue' expression has never been more apropos: the best is aged 8-20 years. So you are playing the long game here. Their top 5 included Middle West Spirits Oyo Bourbon Michelone Reserve, made in Columbus OH.

I have the CC "aero" profile A-arms, and the lower airfoils I bought are not contoured to fit this style; so they remain uninstalled to date. Do you have the regular Caterham or "aero" A-arms?

I got the a-arm foils from MOG-Racing.com. I had to cut about 1/2 inch off of the bottom lip to make them fit (at Joachim's recommendation). Through a series of complex aerodynamic testing behind Tom and Mike, I have been able to calculate an addition of 1 pound of down force at 135 mph! But they sure look good! Karl
