Superformance S1 # 41 for Sale

I have quite a lot of S1 parts that I bought from the importer when they sold out. I will list them for sale on Superformance owners site.

You would be better off posting your parts list right here. I would think you have a

bigger group of S1 owners here. I haven't heard anything from the S1 owners site for ten years, is it still up and running with any traffic ?

My two cents.... Steve

Steve,

I think he is talking of the general SPF owners site, where his car has been listed for sale longer than #35 ;)

Depending on what parts you have I may be interested in buying some of them.

My experience putting my car back together in 2007 after having an autocross instructor put it into a chain link fence, showed me that Superformance in the US had abandoned support of the S1. I eventually got it back together thanks to some very talented fiberglass and machinist fabricators. Very unfortunate, as I would consider one of their other cars if it weren't for that. My impression is once you buy it "SEE YA!", no support what so ever. At least not from the Superformance people I tried to contact.

Good luck on the sale of your car. I absolutely love mine! Driving it is the most fun I have ever had. I got it completely sorted out, for the track, this past year and ran 2nd NJMP USA7s track weekend in July and was amazed at how good the car ran.

I would echo DAVED's statment, would I buy another used one? yes. a new one of anything from superformance? no way!! The s-1 is a well made and well designed for a car that was intended for production. But; even the parts used in it that were "off the shelf" are of undisclosed origin and all are hard to come by and when found over priced. If I ever have a second one it will be a US made stalker. The spf web group is mostly company hipe and a joke. Am i bitter? just slightly.

Bitterness aside:), Dave WAS very competitive in his S1. As I recall, it was pretty much even between him and his car and me and my track dedicated Zetec-engined Caterham Superlight.

I've always loved the 'look' of the S1. It's the car that got me interested in Sevens to start with (sat in a roller in 2000 at Doug and Ronnnie Reed's Superformance toy store in Chalmette, LA).

To get back on the thread. I wish to seek forgiveness for the rant on SPF, not to them but to the seller here. I definitely do not regret buying mine, the suspension is very well thought out and very adjustable, brakes do not get any better than Willwood, the seating is very comfortable (have driven mine about 900 miles in one day, hit a cow and the frame was still square, covered 75 miles of wash board roads with minor problems, and you can almost stay dry in a heavy rain. (needs AC though). The car handles much better than i can drive. There are a few things that have to be changed but the same can be said about all. This is a very nice looking car and if it can be competitive on the track is is well sorted. Good luck with your sale.
