  1. Same with me but I watched some of the other vidieos and it was their....perty cool..... :driving:
  2. Hank that is funny and would most likely put you in some type of modified class for Auto-Xing but that should not be to abserd as your car is not really that stock is it.
  3. Well my 7 is still for sale and six different people have looked at it so far but no one has even made me an offer.. I have told them that I am asking $12500.00 (Twelve Thousand Five Hundred) for it and will consider any reasonable offer and that they might be surprised at what I will take for my car from the correct person. Oh well I guess that is the way things go for the time being and as I have said previously I am not in a hurry to sell it for the time being and it is still for sale......:driving:......
  4. ohhiken where is Oakland, Oregon......I moved to Newberg, Or.in 1995 and moved back to Ventura, CA. in 2007...sure do miss the green trees and the lack of traffic and how much the dollar still is worth their but do not miss the mold from the rain..........
  5. OK I will answer that I do......Now I am ready for the flack that should bring...... :leaving:
  6. http://www.compositesworld.com/articles/eco-elise-concept-lean-speedy-and-green.aspx Just though some of you might find this interesting......hemp.....as a composite.....:driving: :seeya:
  7. Lucky Guy.....I have to take time and go see it for myself.....
  8. :smilielol5: :smilielol5::leaving:
  9. Have to agree with Skip on that, I bet Hank has never driven a Miata. It happens to be the number one selling sports car in the world to my knowledge, it has out sold all other sports cars I have been told and besides I could care less what anyone thinks of me when I am driving my Miata as it is fun and it has AC and is easy to get in an out with the top up.......still smiling and laughing.
  10. On my 7 I have 5.5 inches to the frame rails to the ground but the lowest point is the oil pan with only 3.75 inches of clearance to the ground and so far I have not hit the oil pan mainly due to the position of the engine in relation to the front wheels. The bell housing which sits further back from the front wheels and has 4.5 inches of clearance to the ground has contacted the ground a couple of times due to me being stupid :banghead: and driving off the road surface were the lip of the road is higher than the shoulder surface (country roads with no shoulder to speak of) so I have a very small skid plate on the bell housing to help protect it when I screw up and drop the car of the edge of the road or miss judge a driveway entrance which is the only other place that it has hit the ground. I have dragged my exhaust tip when auto-x only in a hard right turn and folks have said it makes a nice trail of sparks....I can only take their word as I only see the aftermath of the exhaust scraping the ground. If you look close in the attached photos you can see the oil pan and the tail pipe and how the tail pipe is ground off on the edge. In reality it is part of owning a 7 and just being aware is how I look at it.
  11. Oh man I will be on the East Coast on the 7th of Oct through the 14th. Wish I had known this was happening earlier as I could have scheduled my trip earlier if I had known. Oh well that is the way it goes.
  12. Mondo, Their is an Auto-x in Camarillo, CA this coming weekend on the 13th. Look in events section Pacific as the info is their. Still not to late to call and see if any spots are still open. I will be their and I can say this you will get more than just 10 min's of time the way they run this Auto-X. http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?p=33805#post33805 Usually three sets of three practice runs befor the time runs. And yes I usually spin out at least once during the runs as I tend to push it for fun.
  13. Their should be no problems as the cutoff to the best of my knowledge is 1973 for smog requirements in California as that is when all cars had to have some form of smog reduction for the state, the DMV will want to see the VIN to match it to the title and Registration from the previous owner to make sure it is what you say you purchased.
  14. MNR has been around since the late 80es in England. I had actually considered buying parts from them when I built my 7 in 2003. Good company from what I could find with a good backround.
  15. Now that is one sweet deal on a well sorted 7......shame I am not in the market for one now but I guess that is the way it goes.....someones going to get a nice vehicle.
  16. Gert, If you know how to get in touch with Dion let him know that I live in Ventura and would not mind if he contacted me as I would like to see his car.
  17. A friend of mine spotted this 7 on a trailer in a parking lot at Ventura Harbor in Ventura, CA. and asked me if I knew whom it belongs too. I had to tell him I didn't but have seen a photo of the backend of this car some were but were I could not say....so dose anyone know who owns this car. It has California plates on it from what I can see. Here is the photo my friend took. I will see if he has any others of it and add them to this post at a later time if he dose.
  18. Kitcat, Thanks for the nice plug and very kind words "I am not sure what Martin is hoping to get for his amazing scratch built Se7en." and no I do not expect to recoup any of the hours I put into building my 7 at all. That would be like becoming King of America a very crazy idea by any means. I have said that I am asking $17500.00 US dollars and that I will consider any and all offers and if the correct person makes an offer for an amount that I feel is correct and it will be going to someone who will enjoy it then they will own a 7 that has been good to me in more than one way. Did not mean to highjack this thread or even try to promote the sale of my 7 in it. :seeya:
  19. Well I cannot speak for the owners in the group that own other makes but have you considered maybe building your own from scratch as some of us on this site have like me and I would have to say Mazda (Franklin7) as it has had so many major mods that Mazda should be considered a scratch builder from what I know and see even if Franklin7 did start out as a Rotus 7 before Mazda got the bug. It really is not that hard to do if you have a space to do it in and enjoy working with your hands. Heck if I can do it then anyone with the ability to read a ruler / tape measure and knows the difference from an open end wrench and a box end wrench and is willing to learn to weld can build a nice replica 7 with the components they want and can be sourced here at a reasonable price and delivery time. Don't get me wrong I like the Caterhams and Berkins and Westfields but I am one of those cheap SOB's that looks at something and says I can do that for a lot less and then dose it and usually finds that in the long run it would have be cheaper to purchase one but not half the fun so it is a personal choice you just have to make and one that if you do make will put a smile on your face every time you get in it and go for a ride. :driving:
  20. Yep Kevin that is justice at its best..... :smilielol5: .....I like the thinking its X-Mass. Kevin wasn't the Corvette a rental......now that is funny.....and smart, no ware and tare on your vehicle.
  21. Sure dose spin those rear tires easy enough.......must be the 2x4 spring shocks.
  22. Good for her.....we need more folks in this world to stand up for themselves and take action and not be cowards when it comes to self preservation....just my belief but that is me.....sounds that those kids got off easy......
  23. Have to agree with you on that fact that it is good for the good will effort and most likely cost less than flying tons of disposable diapers into Iraq by the US Airforce but the longterm effects of disposable diapers is just nuts when you look at the time it takes to break down if buried and if you incinerate them it needs to be in a modern incinerator not a fire in the backyard......I cannot believe I am actually aware of this but I am for some reason and I am not a tree hugger by any means.....:seeya:
  24. All most had road Rabbit stew their............hard not to cross those double yellow lines...........we all do it from time to time.....very clear and stable for being hand held....what is that roads Route number as it looks like a fine road for a 7. So have you been getting any ash from the station fire in Bakersfield?
  25. A spy shot of the new 2020 Lotus.......... Actually a cool picture from the Worth1000.com web site.
