There is a company called MK Engineering in the UK that has produced some LSIS and has a mid engine LSIS that they are now marketing. That car might be one of theirs as I think I have seen a photo of one that looked like it in the past but I could be mistaken. Still is a nice looking 7, especially the dash.
-
Now that is cool. I wounder if it will bring the cost of a new Caterham down.
-
Sure is a nice looking 7 no mater what the make. I like the dash a lot and the machine turned interior pannels that can be see on the passanger side wall. Very sharp.

Making a boot cover need info.
MHKflyer52 replied to MHKflyer52's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Now that is an avenue that I did not even think about. Thanks Dave. This is why I am a member of this forum....lots of good ideas and useful help like gluing the edges to help keep them straight.....Thanks Tom....started looking at the tool I have and to set the snap buttons and it looks like I need a larger set seat to keep from deforming the button part of the snap. The part that the button sits in looks to be a little small for the pull-dot-snaps that I was given or maybe they take a special seat set. Well off to the local Barnes and Noble to see what I can find out then on to the shop to tinker with my project. -
Making a boot cover need info.

Good idea....why did I not think of that. Thanks -
Well I have finally started to make a cover for the area over the trunk / gas tank area of my car and have realized that I need some information on how to make the cover as I have now wasted the material that I purchased to make the cover and I know that I could just take it to a shop and have it made but I want to do it myself so that I learn how. Here is were I am running into problems: 1. How do you make the edging fold evenly enough to have the edge lay flat enough to sew it down with out having it be all bunched up and lumpy when making a curve to go around the curved parts such as the roll bar. I know to cut "V" notches in the edge to help fold the material back when doing a curve but it keeps coming out with lumps or ripples that look like junk and are hard to sew over. 2. Do I need to have a backing for the area were the snaps buttons will be fitted to the cover and what is the best way to keep from crushing the button when pressing them with the eyelet and snap tool that I have. The tool is like a center punch with interchangeable ends to flare the center post for different size snaps. I have played with a couple and I keep causing the cap or face of the snap to deform when I flare the center post enough to keep the top of the snap from pulling out of the material on my test samples. Is their a better tool to do this like some kind of special pliers or press that is not cost prohibitive. Any help or information is much appreciated.

NASA Pilot's Commentary on Flying the 747 with Shuttle for the First Time
MHKflyer52 replied to scannon's topic in Off Topic
The runway they use for the shuttle operations at Edwards is 04R/22L and it is just over 15,000 feet long and their are no trees at the end of it in either direction. Their is a temp runway that is 04L/22R which is 12,000 feet long and is setup for the shuttle as a backup for landing. The 9000 foot Desert runway that is connected to 04R/22L is under repair to my knowledge. I do not think that NASA would put the shuttle and the modified 747 (one of two that have been modified) into a situation that would jepordise a national asset (the shuttle) by using a runway that did not give them the ability to abort the takeoff if their was a mechanical failure on the 747 during the takeoff roll but that is just my belief. Still a good story. -
I also have the same belief about membership and dues but my point was to try and understand why we do not have more paid members just because of that fact and why their is not a link in the forum title bar that would let someone join as a paid member a little easier if they wanted to do that.
-
I have to agree with S1Steve and slngsht about having it repaired at a radiator shop as they can due it without all the hassel and have the correct equipment to due it correctly for usually under a $100. They can also flush the system for you at the same time.

Try this Link: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetForum/upload/20991.USA7sMemberData.pdf Edit: This is the only info that I know of at this time but I hope and think one of the officers will chim in with more info.

Now that is cool...and different... I like that license plate on the one hurst "1FOOTIN"....LOL

So what dose the Forum / Club / Organization "USA7s.org" need to due to get more of the folks that participate in the forum to become paid active members. Just a question that I have been thinking about as I notice that a lot of the folks that participate in the forum are not paid a member which is ok with me but I also think that it is something that should be looked into. All I know is the forum ("USA7s.org") is one of the best resources that I have found for information on a "7" no matter what the make or what the problem is or question that one might have so it makes it worth the membership for just that reason if nothing else and why it is the only advertisement on my car.

Look close TWIN Turbos progressive boost for a five cylinder engine. No clue as to how much HP but the shop owner said it can most likely spin all four wheels with easy. He would not start it while I was their so I did not push for more details. Heck I am not a Volvo person but if they had one at the dealership I would be looking at buying one I think......but then I would most likely need a driver as I would most likely loose my license after driving it once.....(:>)

So what is your Tow Vehicle and Trailer look like?
MHKflyer52 replied to MHKflyer52's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Thanks for the information 7evin I will look into all of it as I think I have 9 or 10 drivers license from different countries that are still valid and that would eliminate just about all of them from what I have just read. By the way have a nice time in Costa Rica. -
Wow....That is one good friend. What was he driving just out of curiosity.

Here is a link to some more photos of the car. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/VolvoC30# Enjoy. A Photo of the engine compartment.
-
Well this showed up at the Volvo Repair Shop next to my shop today and is it something else. All the shop owner would say is they are to re-program some keys. He did let me look at it and showed me the engine compartment which has an inline five cylinder engine that has twin progressive turbo setup and is all-wheel drive....the rear tires are 18" across the tread and the fronts are right at 12" across the tread.....largest brake rotors and calipers I have ever seen on a car...brake calipers on the front have 16 brake pucks for each wheel and the rears look to be the same. Car has a full interior and seats four in leather race seats...full cage and not one that someone just stuck inside... Here are a couple of photos I snaped with my cell phone for the time being....maybe I can get a couple more later on.

Great story Mazda and a great memory to boot.....One you will always remember.
-
Good Luck and Congratulations.....You have a good start and a lot of folks that are or are willing to help if needed. Again Congratulations and thanks to the new officers.
-
Good Post......should answer a lot of questions people have about Belts and thrie setup....
-
Now that is FUNNY and I would bet they would not allow that plate for just that reason. I like the Chesapeake FRANKN7 also......like something that might have come out of the bay....(:>)

So what is your Tow Vehicle and Trailer look like?
MHKflyer52 replied to MHKflyer52's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Hi 7evin, Yes it answers my questions but also makes me want to know more about the documents you have..maybe a commercial license (CDL with endorsements) and what does the 5th wheel dolly look like that the Excursion pulls look like. You have peeked my curiosity now. -
I use a Ziploc bag for papers such as registration and keep it under the car seat cover so it does not blow away while driving...as for luggage...big plastic trash bags work well to help reduce the amount of water / dirt that one might encounter while on a road trip I would guess.
-
I wonder how many autos Ken Block destroyed learning how to control a car that way....just amazing.
-
I also vote for Frankn7 as it is unique to your car and is already know world wide by that name.
