Go to Amazon, or Google Image, and do a search on "aluminum countersunk body washers."

Given that you've already emailed everyone outside of the USA you've quite possibly contacted Redline Components Ltd., but in the event you haven't their website lists this: https://redlinecomponents.co.uk/product/nose-cone-620-sv-black/

Some of the Ferraris in "Ferrari" were Caterhams
Nick OTeen replied to Nick OTeen's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Recordings were made of various examples of the real engine types (including the Maserati V8) which were then used to replace the sounds of the supercharged 2.0 Litre Ford Duratec engines utilized in the Caterham 620r chassis. -
If you haven't seen Michael Mann's new film, "Ferrari," I highly recommend seeing the film as it is very well done. Another reason to go see it is the interesting detail that several of the replica cars built for the movie - which looked every bit the part - were Caterham 620 chassis with bodies created by Carrozzaria Campana. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a46207390/how-they-made-the-ferraris-in-the-movie-look-real/

An Annoying 'Feature' On My Seven's Zetec SVT Engine
Nick OTeen replied to rcollum's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Yes, the Duratec features an aluminum block whereas the Zetec's is cast iron. They are different engines. It's easy to spot a key difference without even removing the bonnet. The Zetec "family" of engines has the exhaust exiting to the driver's left while the Duratec's exhaust exits to the driver's right. As for my the headers on my car, yes, they are ceramic coated and, I think, they look very nice. -

Sadly, it is most certainly true that Avon will be shutting down operations sometime in the latter part of 2023. Those of us involved in vintage racing classes that rely on Avon tires are naturally quite concerned. In particular are vintage open wheel groups running on slicks including F1, F Atlantic, Super Vee. There is a glimmer of hope that Goodyear (which owns Cooper tires which, in turn, owns Avon) will pick up production of the various sizes/types of tires currently produced by Avon.

That new C/F fender looks fantastic. I particularly like the book match of the fabric. I've always wanted a set for my Caterham that are several inches longer (along the arc) such that they would cover more of the tread overall (something similar to the cycle wings in the photo below). I'd like to talk with your client about working up a pair such as those.

Looking for a carbon fiber aero screen for an SV chassis.
Nick OTeen replied to Nick OTeen's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Yeah, I got one sometime last year from another member here. It is a Caterham factory piece and looks great. My experiences in buying carbon fiber stuff from Westermann hasn't been very good, so if you're looking for a carbon fiber aero screen I'd recommend sourcing one from Caterham. -
Is there anybody here in LA or OC who has a 7 SV????
Nick OTeen replied to Ted7's topic in General Sevens Discussion
My SV and I are located in Northern OC. Send me a PM and we'll work it all out. -
I think there may be some confusion in this thread given comments about water getting in a running engine, etc. The square box that you've described as being an "upward-facing cold air intake" has nothing to do with the air going into the engine. That square box is simply the air intake for the cockpit heating/ventilation system. Covering it while washing the car would be fine, but blocking it off while driving - particularly in humid conditions or in the rain - would be problematic as it would eliminate heating and ventilation when you need it most.

Yep, Thundersport is the the right choice. I got my half hood (and boot bag, behind the seats bags, and half doors) from them. Great customer service and great products, meticulously made.

Nice wheels. What are the sizes of the tires, front and rear?

Yes, it is simply a gauge/display. -
WTB O2 meter Air/Fuel ratio meter

I use this small digital display on one of my race cars. Accurate, small, informative, and less distracting than most air/fuel ratio gauges. https://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=129 -

Yes, without the special Cleco pliers you wouldn't get very far. When you are working on, or making, panels Clecos are indispensable Amazon has a variety of sets available.

Or "Paint Protection Film." My Caterham has PPF on the rear fenders that extends about 10 inches beyond the tops of the carbon fiber guards (which are also covered in PPF). The PPF was applied first, then the PPF-covered carbon fiber guards went on top of that. Everything looks great after many miles; no small thing given the black paint job.

If I'm not mistaken, the "fellow in OC" is Simon Leach, a "Kiwi" who has done a variety of work for me. He is an absolute master panel beater and fabricator. His shop is located right next to John Wayne Airport.

WTB Ford Racing Alum Valve cover for cross flow
Nick OTeen replied to Vinman1's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
We machined a recess for the half crown (1962, in light of the car being a 1962 Lotus 22) into an area on the valve cover that is used, by some, as place to install a fitting for a breather. It's permanently embedded in place. The intake manifolds are plated in electroless nickel (though smudged up a bit with oil in the photo) and are long and curved due to the engine in a 22 being canted over to the right in the chassis to lower the center of gravity. As for the other aluminum valve cover, I couldn't say for certain if it would clear a roller rocker set up, but it seems pretty tall and roomy. It is essentially dimensionally identical the Cosworth cover on the 22 engine. If you can send me some dimensions I can measure it and check. -

Nick OTeen replied to Vinman1's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Here are a couple photos of the aluminum valve cover. It's actually a nicely cast piece. It will look a whole lot better after spending a few minutes with some paint stripper. That flat rectangular area on top could be modified by having a machine shop with a CNC mill engrave some letters and/or numbers, or an emblem into it. If it were me, I'd strip it bare and then have done up in a wrinkle finish powder coat followed up by polishing the fins and raised area. The wrinkle powder coat is what I did with the similar valve cover on the engine for my Lotus 22 Formula Junior engine (shown here after a dyno run). That Cosworth cover was a pricey piece, but appropriate for the engine/car.
