  5. Could not get the link to work, here is another for the video http://sudbury.wickedlocal.com/article/20141005/NEWS/141008046/0/SEARCH Aiden was kind enough to show me his car and give me a ride - resulting in my buying a seven.
  6. I ment hunting camp as I remembered wrongly, this story describes it. I knew about it because I Contra dance and there is a dance named "Lindbergs crate". It's now moved to Maine as a attraction. http://www.nhmagazine.com/November-2011/Lindberghs-Crate-The-Story-of-How-it-Became-a-Home-in-N.H./ http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/6168
  7. fabulous Skip! As a side note, the crate used to ship the plane back became a "camp" in New Hampshire.

  10. [quote name= So, what criteria should I be looking at for a used 7 for me to be able to register / use it in MA?[/quote] Buy one that is already registered in MA, but the truth is unless they have modified the law from 2012/2013 when I was dealing with it even this may not work. When they put this new law into effect in 4/2011 there was a 1 year grandfather period for "replica" owners to change their title/registration to comply and be forever exempt, the rub is they didn't tell anyone. After that there is no exemption, that is, it is retroactive applied to all replica cars even if you have owned it forever. There is also no "age out" for replicas as there is for passenger cars which don't have to pass emissions after 15 years. There was talk of correcting these issues in the law, but I don't know as I have not followed it since 4/13 when I was done, however the lawmakers are not known for their speed. The biggest problem is lack of knowledge by officials administering the rules (don't believe what you are told unless you can verify it) and much rumor amongst car enthusiasts about the old easy ways around -there are not any in this RMV computer run system. I have heard of a case where a title/registration was issued incorrectly - to the advantage of the owner, but this was only a mistake by the clerk (and the law was new). I urge you do your research and look carefully at the laws that apply. I can provide links to most.
  11. I have been through the "new" (9/2012) process, transferring in will not help you. The issue will be if your car can meet the emission standard of a certified engine/drivetrain combination (highly unlikely). There is or was another way that I went through to achieve "emissions exempt" status - convoluted, frustrating and very time consuming. It took me 6 months and app 1.5k but I was one of the first. PM me if you want more info
  12. In 8/2012 I bought a 1997 Caterham with 1800 miles, I have not had any of the aforementioned possible issues because of age/non-use. Even the 1997 tires I had fully intended to replace right off have not yet fallen short of my limited skills on local blats. I would have considered that price a bargain.
  13. Course they could have left it off along with the Z-28 and "added lightness" and flow.
  14. They do sell both http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=22999
  15. I have one other picture of the "Woodie" 7 that I downloaded some time back, but I don't know how to upload it.
  16. Thank You - thats a great help.
  17. My interest is in the exhaust header - having a Miata powered Caterham. Is it custom fabricated? Thanks
  18. I have bought that style from Aircraft Spruce and Wicks aircraft, looks like Wicks doesn't have them anymore and the Aircraft spruce picture's has a slight rim. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/nas549washers2.php Here are some on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flush-No-8-Countersunk-Washers-/350862511407?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51b1090d2f
  19. Tinnerman washers Should have added Aircraft Spruce.
  20. I feel your pain, I was told by the "higher ups" in my state's registry, "we don't care what another state did".
  21. Somethings wrong with your engine if you can hear your seats!
  22. Are the return spring and the throttle cable both pulling to the same side? I have seen carburetors set up like that wear out also.
  23. Amazing amount of info, thanks for posting
  24. I don't want to hijack this thread, But I am ignorant of these matters and would like to learn. I am very surprised the pictured piston tops are counter bored to clear the valves but there are hard 90* edges and no chamfer to the counterbores. As I say I don't know what the norm is, but this is counter-intuitive to me for flow, heat "risers" and the very thin outside wall. Maybe someone could direct me to info on this. Thanks
  25. I only drive the truck 400-500 miles a year, they didn't last that long. Granted it was 1/8" hardware store grade aluminum holding the grill, but the principle is the same, and there was very little stress-just vibration. Tried twice, broke at the bend, if they were cut out of plate rather than bent---maybe.
