  1. I'm very curious to hear the answer to this, as I have one snap missing on the side of my car, and I am wondering how much of the car I have to disassemble to install one stupid pop-rivet backup washer. Sometimes I think the original Lotus disassembly manual wasn't just for tax avoidance :banghead:.
  2. Roll cage. HANS. Roll cage. HANS.
  3. Thanks Croc. Do you know yet the schedule for track sessions each day? I'd like to try to schedule RiteAid tests for a time between sessions.
  4. So...I just realized something. From a Covid perspective we are fine coming into NJ from MA. But coming home from NJ to MA we are supposed to quarantine for 14 days, which isn't practical for us, or get a Covid test within three days prior to returning. Does anyone have any knowledge of how/where we could get tested over the weekend near NJMP? And hopefully get quick results?
  5. Wow. I guess this is motivation to make NJMP Sevens 2021 happen. Why not a roll cage?
  6. On another note, my wife is going to come along, and spend some time hanging out with the Sevens bunch and watching us on track. We're also thinking that we'll pack her kayak along, assuming there are lots of nice places for that in the nearby wildlife refuges. Can anyone give any specific advice on kayaking in those areas?
  7. I picked the more expensive one, then just edited back to the less expensive option per Graham's instruction above. Thanks guys. Looking forward to it.
  8. If I'm bringing a non-driving guest (my wife), I assume I select "Member Guest Rate" ($225) for each day? Ok - I just re-read your first post Croc. I assume "Guest application rate" is for non-NJMP members (me), and "Member guest rate" is for NJMP members (such as Croc). Correct? Very confusing terminology.
  9. Same way I use the crutch (crotch?) straps.
  10. I just noticed it's a diesel. LOL. Love it. Tool box/glove box is a nice touch.
  11. So - If I connect the black wire and the yellow wire attached to the fan switch the fan should go on - right? Great idea re wiring a fan switch - thanks. I could use the switch for the heated windscreen, as I don't use that and never would.
  12. I did a track day last week - SCCA Track Night in America, at Thompson Speedway (CT). In the Intermediate group I generally was faster than the BMWs, Miatas, lesser Porches, etc., and kept up with some of the 911 Turbos and Corvettes. My car was a bit hit with lots of the folks there. Very fun. Only problem was that my engine ran pretty hot, and when I came in after sessions it boiled over when I was running it to cool down. Driving home it ran pretty hot, and I figured out that my radiator fan wasn't going on. That's why it was fine at speed on the track, but boiled over when idling. My engine is a BDA, but I assume this would all be the same on a crossflow. I checked the fan fuse - looks fine. Basic questions: In this picture, there is one sensor on the left, with a black and a yellow wire, and one sensor on the right, with a green wire: I assume the one on the left controls the radiator fan, and the one on the right is for my coolant temperature gauge. Correct? This picture shows the wiring going to the fan: Black and black/green coming from the wiring harness, which is what my wiring diagram shows. These go through a connector to black (grey?) and blue to the fan. I assume that black is ground, and black/green should deliver +voltage when the engine heats up. Correct? So I can check for no voltage when cold, and voltage when hot. Is there a relay somewhere that could be bad? Any other advice on what/how to check? I'm sure some of you have been through this before.
  13. Do you drive on the street? I believe 2" shoulder belts are not recommended to be used without a HANS device. My Schroth crotch straps plug right into the buckle.
  14. Just looping back to give my experience. I have installed my Schroth belts, and did a track day this week. I am very happy with them - very comfortable, and easy to adjust. And the blue and yellow I got looks awesome in my blue and yellow car :-). I bought them from HMS Motorsports, who was very accommodating. These were the only 6-point belts that I could find that: - Have 2" lap belts (preferred) - Have 3" shoulder belts (needed to use without a HANS device) - Can be used with a HANS device - Could be configured with the proper fittings to bolt into the Caterham - Can be used a 6-point on the track - Can be used as 4-point on the street. Very happy with them.
  15. I'll add another post to the above referenced thread to give my experience now that I have the belts installed.
  16. I believe last year arm restraints were required. (Just see now that Croc answered that above). On another note - what's the hotel people usually stay at? I camped last year, but thinking hotel this year.
  17. Anker - my advice is that if you are going to drive all the way down there, bring the seven and get it on the track. It'll be worth the hassle and expense of renting a trailer and truck, if you need to.
  18. NER PCA NCT PCA Renegade Miata NESVT Track Club USA BMW CCA Bay State Corvette Club SCCA maybe others also?
  19. I also suggest just driving it for a while before making any drastic changes, especially with a car that looks as nice as this one. Street, track, autocross. Get some experience with it before doing mods, as you'd likely want different mods for each of those uses.
  20. Yes - Devens. Come on up. Autocrosses with various clubs running most Saturdays and Sundays April-October.
  21. Great to meet you (in the real world) also Anker. I saw your times improve as the day went on. I think you still have some seconds to squeeze out with experience driving the Seven. What a blast - huh?! Here's a video of one of my runs, with the sound of a BDA driven in anger (BDA + anger = joy). You can see your car parked when I'm coming in after the run:
  22. From the It's-Always-Something department: I autocrossed this past Saturday. had a blast, and did pretty well. When I got home I found that my passenger side sidescreen window had become distorted/misshapen. See photo: Hard to photograph, but it's pretty misshapen. The doors were off the car during the autocross, lying on a tarp, but there must have been something over of under the window, and the heat (hot day) distorted it. Thoughts on whether this can be fixed? I was thinking carefully iron between two towels, on a flat surface. Thoughts?
