http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/739648501_PB300243.JPG Clean?!? There is a Cheeto on the driver's floor and spilled latte on the passenger seat! Sorry, I'm just envious  I still haven't washed the deer poop off my Birkin's fenders from our NorCal tour a month ago :leaving:

From the new web site: Caterham Cars Ltd and Caterham USA is pleased to announce the launch of the new Caterham USA website www.caterham-usa.com. The website has been mutually developed by both parties as they work together to re-launch Caterham and the new model range in the US. For the first time in more than two decades Caterham enthusiasts will be able to experience the same power and performance that has only been available to the UK market. Until now State side Caterham owners have had to settle for the outdated Ford X-Flow and more recently Ford Zetec engines, while the UK market received exciting new products. With the release of the Ford Duratec packages developed in house by Caterham Power Train (CPT), the US market now has access to all the latest Caterham engine options. The CPT Duratecs offer fantastic levels of performance, reliability and enjoyment that complement the character of the Seven’s legendary chassis perfectly. With options spanning from the base 170bhp to the mighty 263bhp engine package, the CPT Duratec offers a performance level to suit a variety of requirements and budgets. The introduction of these engine package options, allows previously unavailable models to be released into the US market. The Superlight R500 has long been the supercar slaying weapon of choice in the UK. Utilizing the top of the range 263bhp CPT Duratec, the R500 combines the legendary Seven chassis with mind bending acceleration, allowing the US market to fully come to terms with what a Seven is truly capable of. For more information on the Caterham product line now available in the US visit the Showroom section or contact Caterham USA. The Showroom section has prices in dollars too.

I like wagons too. My current DD wagon is a 2002 Lexus IS300 Sportcross I bought on ebay a few years ago. The wagon version of the IS300 was never popular so used ones tend to be discounted, but also hard to find. Pluses are Toyota reliability, rear wheel drive, nice 6 cyl engine that is still fairly thrifty, and of course its a wagon. The only real negative I can think of is that it was only available with an automatic. They were made in years 2002 to 2005. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/PNW20071110.jpg http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/PNW2007408.jpg

Yes, I use the most complicated, technically advanced camera mount in existance. Here's a pic of the mount in action: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/DSCN3435.jpg Sorry, couldn't resist! I think Gert and Chad were the only two with video mounts, the rest of us used my method

A few pics. Bill Goss hosted a BBQ after the first day of driving. Beautiful house! From left to right - Bill G's Stalker, Dion D's Locost, Chad M's Ultralite, Tom J's' Caterham, Bill G's Birkin, Gert B's Birkin, and Stan S's Birkin. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/693637300_DSCN3373.jpg In Lassen National Volcanic Park, close to 8000 ft. altitude: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/10582127_DSCN3390.jpg Rearview mirror shot with Tom's Caterham in front: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1568093669_DSCN3405.jpg Gert fettling with Bill and Dion looking on. I believe the older gentleman on the right name is Russ, and he owns the Caterham in the background with yellow wheels. He lives in the area and joined us for lunch: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/483961111_DSCN3412.jpg Hwy 1 on the way to Fort Bragg, finally out of the heat! Missing is Chad's Ultralite which suffered a broken suspension piece, and Bill and his Birkin who stayed with Chad: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/794733587_DSCN3414.jpg Almost home, me and my shadow: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1953402788_DSCN3427.jpg

Yes, my Cool Shirt turned out to be a great idea for this tour. Yesterday I drove nearly 700 miles from Fort Bragg to home in Victorville via Dixon, and the temps were well over 100 degrees most of the afternoon. It took me about 12 hours driving time, and I could not have done it and lived without the shirt! Here is their web site where you can see what the system is and how much it costs: http://www.coolshirt.net So, how hot will it be in Branson next July?

Mondo, where did you get your cabinets? They look great! I'm getting ready to organize our garage soon and cabinets look like the way to go.

Hey Mazda, Gert and I will be away on the NorCal tour when you come through on the 5th and 6th. Since your body will be on east coast time, you can get up early and head to Cars & Coffee Saturday morning (www.carsandcoffee.info). It is over by 9am so you still have the rest of the day for other activities. Unfortunately I'm working when you return and Victorville is just too far from LA to get down there for an evening. You might try posting on CCC site? Maybe you can check up on Mr. Orange for Al :yesnod:

Looks like a good mix of cars (listed alphabetically so as not to show preference ) : 3 Birkins 2 Caterhams 1 each Locost, Stalker, Ultralite, and Westfield

It reminds me of the Donkervoort, but I think Donkervoort integrated their headlights better: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/1.jpg vs. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/002_ifraspid.jpg

IIRC, last time it was on ebay, top bid was about $75,000 and didn't meet the reserve. I sure it is worth every penny of $95,000 if you have that to spend on a Seven!

Sugino's old Seven is back up for sale! Sugino's Seven on ebay

Here's mine: Certainty: 90%+ Legs attending: 1-4 Hotels needed: Chico through Red Bluff Pre-tour: 0%

My main preference would be to end the tour at least two days before a Monday so I have time to get home before starting work. That way I can do one long 600 mile day and still have a day to recover, or break it into two days getting home. I don't have a trailer so I'll be driving the Seven. I'm lucky in that I can take the whole week off so I'm up for any length tour you decide.

More like Lexus speeds?

I like the vinyl dash redo. Anyone know a source for that type of vinyl?
-
Yes, very nice shot. That is Jon Stokes' Caterham in the background, the one that broke its driveshaft as mentioned in another thread.
-
Will Mr. Orange's west coast public debut be at Cars and Coffee Saturday? There is a (very) slim chance I might be there with my Birkin or Smart Car.

After years of being asked if my Seven has a VW engine, here is a one that really does, and its for sale! VW Powered Seven But I want to know what's up front under his bonnet now that the engine is in the back?
