I guess "pedal-box cam" takes on added meaning here

Another California specific site: www.pashnit.com However, it is now a pay site (I think $20 a year) but very comprehensive with an active forum.

Not mine though! Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190220715764&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 Located near San Diego and has the important (for California) SB100 exemption.

Mine are Kuryakyn Ellipse mirrors from http://www.cruisercustomizing.com They are very stable and are available in flat or convex glass. You can also get different stalk lengths and mirror head shapes. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1946173655_DSCN2300.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/654041869_DSCN2297.jpg

soareyes replied to Al N.'s topic in Cars For Sale
Looks like S. California will be the lucky recipiant of this car! Can't wait to see it in person. -
Saw this years ago on a convertible driven by a pretty blond lady: AUDLOCS hint - it helps if you remember your chemistry periodic table!

Thanks Ed for bringing this to our attention. Another trip added to the "must do" list!

Knott's on Sunday? I'll be in the area at a family event, maybe I can sneak over and take a look. I won't have the Birkin though. Mondo, what time do you think you will be heading home with the car?
-
My tonneau splits up the middle so I use the passenger half nearly all the time, even driving. I still have the stock Birkin seat on the passenger side, and the headrest comes off. I can still use the driver side when parked as it buttons down all the way around except where the driver's seat pokes through at the back. Someday I'll take it to a shop and have them modify it so I can get complete sealing, but it is good enough for now (not much rain in the desert here, mostly blowing dust!).
-
Yes, they do widen slightly towards the front similar to the Kirkey seats. The side panels also slightly flair out towards the top/front of the seat, which rubbed the side of the cockpit till I bent them straight (before cutting them off entirely, as you can see in my previous picture).

Anyone want to show their Se7en in NYC when Orange leaves?
soareyes replied to Al N.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
Al, you need to borrow Sugino's old car! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1664695526_sugino.jpg -
Here is a photo of my modified (butchered?) Ultrashield Spec Miata seat next to an unmodified seat. I didn't need the thigh supports because the drive shaft tunnel and cockpit side gave me that already. I also ended up cutting off the torso wing on my left side as the cockpit side again gave me that support. My wife modified the seat cover for me so it looks tidy. I tilted the seat slight back when I installed it in the car which lowered my head in the cockpit slightly (I also lowered the floor about 2 inches). http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1270502195_DSCN1827.jpg

No reserve, so it will sell. Looks like there are a few persistent bidders so it should go higher. Good luck if anyone here is bidding!

Kitcat - You might want to email Dick directly at: dick at texasmotorworks7.com I'm not sure how closely he monitors this site. He also has a website: www.texasmotorworks7.com

Good news for present (and future) Birkin owners. This was posted to the Birkin Owners group by Dick Brink: To the Seven Community! Many of you will remember that a few years ago I was the importer of Birkin products in the US and Canada. Since that time I have been focusing on used cars and parts but never has my passion for these cars changed! Well, I have just made an arrangement with the Birkin Factory to take over that responsibility again! We have made some changes to the program and the factory is very much behind these changes! A container of cars has been ordered. For one thing, we are focusing on wide track front suspension systems and IRS rear suspension systems. I have one of the cars in stock and it handles brilliantly! The turn-in is much improved and the rear end ride quality is outstanding! I think the older versions are wonderful machines and I am racing one of them every chance I get. However, time marches on and so does technology. This new product is one I know the market is going to enjoy! The new program also has changed in the respect that Birkin is going to ship all the parts which represent their true strength as they have in the past. However some of the products will be sourced in this Country and in Canada. The reasons are obvious in that many products are cheaper here than in other parts of the World. We all know what has happened with respect to products coming into this part of the World from the UK. Because of currency issues, products from that part of the World have become extremely expensive. Well, our goal is to flush some of the costs out of Birkin products by changing the way we do business. Thankfully the factory understands these issues and supports these changes in the way we have done business in the past! Our focus will also be on the 2.3 Duratec Ford engines with throttle body systems and engine management systems developed in North America. They produce outstanding power and torque. Other items of change are on the way as well, but this is the big picture for the moment. We will be bringing on board a small number of dealers to support our effort. You will be hearing about them from time to time. Now however, it gives me great pleasure to announce Birkin Cars Northwest of Canmore, Canada! Richard Wyly is an outstanding individual and I am delighted to have him on board! Richard is my kind of a car guy and also fun to be around. He has a long history of racing and enjoying sport cars. Please welcome him into our Birkin Family! I have asked Richard to tell us a little about himself and that message is below. Thank you for your past support and lets have even more fun with these cars in the future! Dick Brink Texas Motor Works And this followup message from Richard Wyly: Hello fellow Birkin and other Super 7 owners and sports car fans. Please allow me to introduce myself . I'm soon to be a proud owner of my own Birkin 7. My name is Richard Wyly and I live in Canmore , Alberta Canada with my wife and our two boys,Colin, 18 and Casey 16. We own and operate an auto glass company. I'm an American and grew up in Roswell, New Mexico where I learned to love and own race performance cars for about 25 years. My first car was a Gemini Mk 3 front engine formula Jr. I then moved up to my first of two Lotus Super 7s. The cars were a blast to drive, but you already know that. I traded the first 7 for Jochen Rindt's formula 2 car which had been rebuilt and repainted. A beautiful car, and way to fast for me. I was transfered to southern California in 1968 and decided to hang up the toys for a while and become a business man or something like that. I wasn't really sure. A few years later I was lucky enough to find and buy a Lola T 160 Can Am car which I vintage raced for fourteen years. Great fun and very fast. Recently I visited Texas as a guest of Texas Motor Works Co. which is owned by Dick and Lynn Brink. They were such gracious hosts and made me feel very welcome,Texas style. What else? I was

Here is one I took of my 7 at a ghost town here in the California desert: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/247566262_DSCN2129_3.jpg

Dang, if it goes for $18,000 someone is getting an incredible deal! I wonder what ecu it uses, and if the owner is a member of this site. I haven't seen the car at any of our California get-togethers.

Hey, that first car in the lineup is my Birkin! John, was this taken in the motel parking lot in Tehachapi?

Robert, I partially answered on the Birkin list before I saw this thread, but to recap: 1. Give Woody a call. 2. The 294 mm measurement eye-to-eye is with the shocks on the car and driver's weight in the car. It sounds like your springs are too long, so this may not be possible. This sets the correct front ride height, then adjust the rears to get the car level. 3. My Zetec Birkin has 300# springs front, 175# rear, by Woody's advice (I got them from him). 4 Give Woody a call! -
Take a look at Ultrashield's web site: www.ultrashieldrace.com Similar to Kirkey seats, and the 15" Spec Miata seat just barely fits my Birkin.
-
Winston, This Birkin was crashed at Infineon (Sears Point) raceway in the fall of 2005. Woody Harris of MSI Motorsports in Vacaville, CA was very familar with the car before the accident, and he inspected it after the accident, so he would be able to give you a good (and unbiased) idea of its condition. I don't have his number handy, but Google should. (BTW, this isn't the same Birkin that he owned that crashed at Willow Springs a few years before.)

 I had to look close for that one! Sorry though you had the problem, but at least there was no fire.

soareyes replied to MHKflyer52's topic in Pacific
Martin, I still plan to be there! It seems like the Brit cars line up in the isle closest to the main building, so thats where I'll try to park, and save you a place if I can. Anyone else want to go?
