Looks like it might work out ok without a reserve - already at $15,100 with 33 bids and 3 days to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Super-Seven-Birkin-S3-Birkin-7-S3-Caterham-Lotus-super-7-/330772356029?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4d03919bbd

Skip, if it is like previous years, you get admission to the historic's and preferred parking with other Loti in a segregated lot close to the entrance. It is a good deal! I can't remember cost but I'm sure someone else will.

It is back on Netflix for streaming! Finally saw it Xmas night and it was worth the wait.

Thanks, but I sold it about a year ago! Hopefully the new owner is enjoying it as much as I did.

Jason, I'm pretty sure they were off an early 2000's standard Caterham. The snaps had not been installed so I was able to place them in the proper position on the half doors to match the ones on the Birkin. I bought them on ebay from an owner that never installed them on his car. With a Birkini top and the half doors installed I could drive year-round, but of course I live in the desert so than wouldn't be too hard even without these things!

I put a pair of Caterham half doors on my Birkin and they fit perfectly. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/DSCN3128.jpg

Getting in touch with my feminine side

Thanks Skip! I'm 6' 3" so every extra inch helps. I had a copy of your article "Checking Out a Used Miata" with me whenever I went to test drive a car as it was very helpful. Here is the link to the article in case any other members are looking for a Miata: http://www.miata.net/faq/usedmx5.html -

So I joined the club this weekend - bought a base 1992 in great shape with 94,000 miles. I can almost fit inside! http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/CIMG0793.jpg -
Looks great! Definitely unique without the hood bulge compared to other Stalkers.

Probably one of these cars returning from the dyno-tuning session yesterday: http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/chat/showthread.php?p=13812#post13812

Cow Patties? That rings a bell. Oh yes, here are two photos from the PNW2007 tour that show Dion and Bill (with his old Birkin) trying to wash cow poop off their cars. Hopefully they learned their lesson and avoided the mess on this trip! http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/DSCN2240.jpg http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd136/soareyes/DSCN2243.jpg

Black Hills / Bighorn / Yellowstone Tour 2011

Bet you wish you had a Cool Shirt about now! But of course the required ice chest would leave no room for a passenger. -
Here is some discussion about this Birkin on the California Caterham Club web site: http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/chat/showthread.php?t=1721

All kidding aside, it is a Westfield, and a very nice one! Belongs to JohnCh. Edit: I realize now you were kidding too! When I had my Birkin, I had several people ask if it was a real Lotus 7, but nobody ever asked if it was a real Caterham.

Anyone know if the NC's (2006 and up) have more, less, or the same legroom as the NA's and NB's? I haven't sat in the newer cars but have driven my brother's 1996 Miata and I wished that it had a bit more legroom. -

Stalker guys - question about pedals
soareyes replied to soareyes's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Thanks GBOLT and HOTTTCAR, I'll assume then that it is possible to top mount the pedals. Not soon John, but possibly in a year or two. I really want to build something myself this time. Before I bought my first Birkin I was on the Stalker kit waiting list. This was back in the early 2000's and I think the waiting time was 6 months or so. I got impatient and bought a local Birkin - no regrets as Birkins are great Sevens. If they made a larger "SV" sized Birkin I'd give it serious consideration! -
I use to own a Birkin and although the footwell was narrow, the pedals were top mounted which allowed me to slip my left foot behind the clutch and brake pedals and extend my left leg straight out. This really cut down fatigue on long drives as I'm tall with a 36" inseam measurement. In fact, the Birkin footwell was so long that I couldn't touch the firewall with my foot when my seat was all the way back. Years ago I sat in a Stalker and noticed the pedals were bottom mounted and I couldn't extend my leg when I wouldn't need to use the clutch (like cruising on the freeway). Can the pedals be top mounted during the build or does the Stalker layout prevent this? Where do you guys put your left leg when not using the clutch? Thanks, Stan

Apparantly it was on Netflix for instant viewing by streaming a few days ago before it was pulled. Unfortunately I didn't find out until after it was pulled.

According to his ad on Lotus Talk, the car sold in February.

Jim, I had it for one year (June 2009- June 2010). It worked great for me! The Mini was cheap to run and fun to drive. I could easily count on a 100 mile range with mostly freeway driving, and longer in city/suburban driving due to regenerative braking. My longest drive on one charge was 148 miles. I never got stranded and "range anxiety" was gone within a few weeks of getting the car. My longest trip was 220 miles with one recharge in the middle at a high-amp charger (couple hours). I used it as my commuter car during the week and errand car on the weekends, both perfect uses for an electric car. If I needed more range (weekend trips and vacations) we just took my wife's minivan. I plugged it into my home charger when I got home from work and a timer would start the charge after 9pm when electric rates were low (I had a time-of-use electric plan from Edison). In the morning the car was always 100% charged and ready for the day. I now have solar panels on my roof so my next EV will use free electricity. Obviously it wouldn't work as someone's only car if you needed to consistently drive more than 100 miles a day, but for a family that has two cars I think one could easily be an electric. -
