I agree Gales new LS7 powered Stalker is fantastic. I can't wait to see it in person. I'm interested in seeing the paint job his wife did. Lana does fantastic work.
There is an Ultralite s2k available with a 2.2 l Honda. Engine is very low mileage. It was a competive SCCA car for several years. It is street able as well. It has billet rear uprights and a few other accessories. It should fit your price point easily.
Like others said go for as many ride and drives as possible.
If you are just wanting a carbon look you can buy a carbon veneer sheet that can be glued to the aluminum dash panel. They are available all over the net in different colors and carbon patterns.
I'm not aware of that ever being wrecked. I've known every owner. It is a little difficult to tell in the photos. Is the lower shock bracket bent back at all? I would put a straight edge on the lower rear control arm it should be straight. Next I would check the control arm mount inside the body. Next I would check the length of of the inside control arm heim joint in comparison to the other side.
I installed a cruise for my first One Lap adventure. It worked for a day then quite. I was a bit of a clunky mess to install. It was nice for the day it worked, but was to unreliable to to keep on the car.
I haven't ever seen anything like this before. This guy has some amazing reflexes.

Bruce I sent you a response on the PM the other day. Maybe you didn't get it. I like to use these bolts (http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/details/26352?searchMode=productSearch&rfqXref=&rfqKeyword=&rfqId=&rfqLineId= on the joints. The original bolts have a slight bit of movement because the threaded section of the bolt is slightly smaller than 1/2 and this will allow some wiggle in the joints. These bolts have a machined 1/2 shoulder and makes the joints tight. You will need to use a flat washer with a nylock nut to tighten the joint down. I do not recommend using any type of fastner that will sandwich the bracket to pinch the joint. This can cause some binding and adds no strength to the connection. The brackets are made to have the head thru the bolt as originally done. If you just add the teflon rod ends with the the shoulder bolt it makes a very tight suspension pick up.
Be sure to check each bracket some of the brackets have a welded in spacer which can vary in thickness depending on the brand. So when you get the shoulder bolt the length can vary 1/4 inch between bracket brands.
One problem 7evin ran into with the Team Dynamics wheels was he ordered hub size to small and he had to have them machined bigger to clear the front spindle. So you might want to measure the spindle diameter next to the rotor to make sure it will sit flush to the rotor hat.
It really hasn't been a issue that I'm aware of. It is possible to be slightly off , but I never experienced vibration or abnormal wear. I was looking at hub centric set up on my car, but construction has been beyond slow.
You are correct the rear are from the Subie and the front is all Wilwood. I would just measure the rear centric ring on the hub and your wheels and you can order them off the net. The front is going to be more difficult because the Wilwood hub is tapered. You will most likely need to find a local machine shop make them for you.
I use State Farm agreed value coverage policy. No restrictions and reasonable prices. You will need to have other things insured with them. I have 5 vehicles and 3 buildings with them so its takes about 2 min to add an Ultralite.
Looks good, should be a riot on the track. When you get bored with 350 hp there is room for more power and no weight gain. In fact changing to LS series engine may cut 100 lbs.
MSR is a fun track. Plenty of runoff area and nothing to hit close to the track if you go off. I like the CCW better but its fun either way. Looks like the car ran good. Having seen John Meyers Stalker run there is no need to convince me of the performance capacity of a V8 7. Hopefully I will get to meet you up there sometime.
Maybe there should be a test to register to vote?
