1. I should have specified the stock setup from Ford, not the modified engines with ITB's. I'm sure some of the SVT-powered Caterhams have the stock Ford induction system.
2. Sevenup - I remember someone (I think Folis J.) mentioning that he used the BRG from a 1995 BMW (paint code 312) to match the paint on his Birkin. I've also heard that the Mazda Miata SE BRG is pretty close as well. Just be aware that both BMW and Mazda have a metallic green that was close to BRG but doesn't look nearly as good as the solid BRG. I can't say for sure how close the two paints are to the Birkin color but it's a start. Hope this helps.
3. Climax-powered, BRG, racing history....and I would assume expensive! http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20143/lot/246/?page_anchor=MR1_module_instance_reference%3D1%26MR1_lot_number%3D245%26MR1_list_grid_result%3Dlist
4. I'm pretty sure on the later Zetecs and SVT models that there is no fuel pressure regulator and no return line back to the tank. Instead, there is a fuel pressure sensor/transducer on the fuel rail which senses the actual fuel pressure in the rail and sends a signal to the ECU which adjusts the fuel pump "on" time or speed (not sure which) to maintain the correct fuel pressure. I'm assuming that the Caterham SVT application works the same way.
5. Congrats, and with your 77th post!
6. Looks like a Lancia Aurelia (sp?) with a hard top.
7. Which seals exactly? I would think they should be available someplace on this side of the pond...
8. MoBoost - The two long pieces in the center of the 2nd photo cover the trans tunnel sides. The tunnel top is listed as a separate piece and has already been sold to another member. Hope this helps.
9. No affiliation, etc: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1962-Original-Lotus-Super-Seven-Series-2-/271000995012?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f18eb04c4
10. :iagree:
11. How about $100 + shipping or trade for a Caterham luggage rack like this one. Used is ok.
12. Back on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Caterham-Seven-Ford-Zetec-Lotus-7-/300724182796?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item46048edf0c
13. It looks like it's on Ebay with a $64,950 B-I-N: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-Caterham-Super-7-CSR260-/130711387412?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e6f017d14 I then went to the Park Place ad and it shows a special price of $59,950: http://www.parkplaceltd.com/all-cars/detail/2007-Caterham-LOTUS-7-CSR260/282/SDKRCKRNS70060324/~/Make_Caterham~ModelActual_~Year_/1 I'm a little confused with the different prices but unless I'm missing something that has to be a pretty good deal for a CSR with that spec?
14. Croc is correct, it's an Invicta low chassis powered by a 4.5L Meadows inline-6. Skip - You don't have a better picture of that car, do you? My first thought was a 1930's era Delahaye?
15. Looks like a Talbot Lago GP car? If that guess is correct what's this one?
16. My favorite would have to be an earlier Jaguar model...
17. Duane - Hope these photos help.
18. Duane - I don't know of any available scoops that would work for you. I would think someone would have to do a one-off fabrication to fit the Birkin opening. Here's a photo I took of my accelerator pedal on my 2001 Birkin. I circled three of the components, they are as follows: Red: Block that outer cable ferrule sits in. Green: Accel pedal with inner cable. Yellow: Accel pedal WOT stop.
19. Thanks Stig. Do you know where the spreader washers are available? I was going to try to use the biggest washer that would fit in the available space but if there is something specific to this application that'd be better.
20. Thanks Dingo, it's a steel pan. He has two gasket sets but the one he showed me had a cork gasket. I also have a new container of the "The Right Stuff" in my shop so we have that option if that's the best solution. The crack is fixed, I made sure the mounting flanges are flat, I'll prime/paint it today and probably install it tomorrow.
21. I'm working on a friends '92 X-Flow powered Caterham DeDion that has an oil leak from the pan due to a slight crack from bottoming out on our crappy roads. I'm having the crack TIG-welded and will replace the sump gasket with the Caterham supplied cork/rubber setup. What's the best way to handle the junction between the flat cork gasket and the half moon rubber seals? Do you put a small bead of silicone there? Do you use a gasket sealer like Hylomar blue on the cork gasket or install it dry? Any other typical places for leaks on a X-Flow that I should be aware of? What's the torque setting for the sump? I'm assuming it's in the 5-10 lb/ft range. Is there a sump guard available for this year Cat that would prevent this from happening in the future? Any tips for the installation would be appreciated!
22. Duane - I took a picture of my rear axle brake setup to compare with yours. Mine has a spacer (gold colored) between the axle and caliper adapter that appears to be between .100" - .120" in width. Hope this helps.

24. Bump. I really prefer to sell this rather than cut it up to use in the Birkin. Offers?
