Car made it back to NY yesterday. Big thank you to Mike for being a gracious host. I'll be digging into it over the next couple of weeks. If I had to throw a dart at the wall for a guess I'd say my pressure plate failed but we will know soon enough. Tom, side question. Do you know who made the carbon tie rods for your car? Can't help you with sustained track use advice, but you have a similar Zetec setup and I use 5-30 Mobil1 for the street. My pressure however is typically much lower as well I'll maybe see 20 throughout regular operation. Maybe higher during WOT but thats rare during regular operation. IMO First number is really "dealers choice" as 32 degree viscosity doesn't really matter for a track car, especially with accusump operating. So choices are really 30/40 or 50 so second number.

The cat actually had the biggest wall impact of the day after losing control during a snap change in direction. Luckily NJMP decided to give an exception on repairs fee in this case.

I want to thank Croc for your hospitality of allowing my car to reside in the garage while I arrange getting it back home. It drastically helps navigate resolution to the unfortunate mechanical problem. I also want to thank everybody involved in putting on this event, primary Tom and Mike but also the "hidden figures" who are involved a little more behind the scenes. It was a pleasure to meet everybody and it made for a very memorable event. Special shot out to my personal 1 woman pit crew of Paige and her "support vehicle", I likely wouldn't have made the event or gotten the car ready in time and definitely wouldn't have gotten back from the track if she didn't dedicate the time to come along :rofl: She also took a ~1056 pictures of everybody which will take me some time to edit, upload and share. P.S. Croc, your little quip about her technically being faster around the track has resonated deep with and provided material for ball busting on the long drive back up. Well played, well played. PS X2: I'll start uploading phone and other pictures throughout the week. Technical question to Croc or whoever. How do you get the pictures to not double up once uploaded? Do they have to go into our Album on the forum or is there another trick?

Will likely try to swap the belts in the parking lot unless the people who know better give me a green light to go elsewhere after the hotel

I printed the form by printing Crocs pictures of it. Were we supposed to get an email or something with the actual form attached?

I don't think I have a choice at this point, too much money committed with no exit strategy. Emailed Chris at Redline about the miscommunication to see if there is any resolve that can come out with belts that I won't have any use for and a new belts from Stable Energies will cost me ~$400+ for driver alone. Alas everything is packed and it is what it is. I shouldn't have a problem swapping the belts myself in the parking lot of the hotel if everything goes right. Might have to research location for 2pt extra attachments but I'm sure there tech questions will be easily referenced with that many people down there.

Found the problem on the Caterham website Apparently the replacements belts I got are not FIA rated. Lovely oversight on my part I have the 2 point addition and the arm restraints but now I officially don't have in spec belts http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15593&stc=1 Edit x2: I'm going to call the track in the morning and see if they sell belts and/or going to stop by this place on the way https://www.stableenergies.com/Harnesses/products/584/ and see if they have anything Edit x3: looks like I'm stopping by Stable energies on the way down to buy a belt on the way down. Called them and they said they should have something for me.

Probably a little late to be asking for advice here but a part I didn't expect to be a problem became a problem. The new belts I ordered from Caterham to replace my outdated ones don't have a date spec on them. I can only imagine it will be a problem during the inspection time. Any advice?

Croc, currently booked with Ramada by Wyndham and taking the half hour before cancellation period expires to look at other options. While I have your attention here, I registered by the price seemed off? I registered as a driver for $330 total plus $100 for passenger but the price should have been $250 a day? Double checking things on that end to see what I could have missed too Edit: Saw my mistake. I'm realizing I'm considered a guest driver so changed to that "Guest Driving Event Registration Saturday - Sunday" $500

I came into this setup, car came equipped as it is. Seems counter productive to take the stuff off to be honest. Hard work of buying and installing has been done and it would only create more work to undo. Would I have gone for such a setup if the car came without it? Negative. Dumped the motor from the engine yesterday with the the accusump charged to 50kPa. About 5.3qt came out, so I refilled it back with 5.3qt. How would you fill/dump the lines to cooler? Disconnect the AN and fill and then blow air into it to drain? It would be good to have the data for how much that holds to eliminate guess work. Without starting it the oil line lined up with what appears to be some sort of scribe line. Must have been what the previous owners have done and this confirms it. It's faint but it's there. I'm sure the lines bled a little too so I'll likely be just a tad low once I start it but this gives me a good starting point compared to where I was previously. I will only have to have the drivers belts in year spec/6pt/restrained since I'm not taking a passenger or will they give me a hard time for the passenger belt being out of year/4pt as a blanket rule to be allowed on the track regardless of whether I will have a passenger? I have second set of belts but I would rather spend my time elsewhere if I don't have to install them.

Comfort isn't a concern, I've done far longer stints on bikes in the past and Seven is a luxury car in comparison. Just did 3 hours yesterday to NYST and back, only issue was drowsiness. I have a trailer, but no tow car and it looks to be about $400 as a rough ballpark for me to get a truck rental for the weekend. Not sure if it's worth it just yet. Breakdown is obviously a risk/possibility at which point a tow back would be necessary. If I drive my only puzzle would be to keep the aeroscreen or to put the windshield on and put the aeroscreen on the passenger seat.
