    Wtf

Loren: It's one thing for me to fondly remember the "old" days, but If I had to look at the carnage that you see, I would not have made the comment in the first place. I stand corrected.
  3. So if a Se7en is a sports car with the engine behind the front axle, the passengers almost sitting on the rear axle, cycle fenders (sometimes) and generally no top, then this Cadillac, and Jay Leno's Bentley should fit the bill. The radial engined bike is just for fun. It's a AEB (Aircraft Engined Bike)

    Wtf

I just got back from the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and there was a guy there selling a set of seats to install in a pickup. They were on a frame, with full harnesses, and looked similar to a Recaro. Now that would be the set-up for riding in the rear.
  5. After seeing that pic, I scoured my bathroom to see where you hid the camera.:cuss:
  6. "So help me Hanna, had I hit that elephant, not swerved, it would have knocked it off its legs, and it would have landed right on top of us,'' he said. I hate when that happens.:smash:

    Wtf

Younger guys may never been exposed to the time honored tradition of riding in the back of a pickup truck. We all did it as kids, and teenagers and adults. You were told to get into a position where you could not fall out during starts, stops and turns. Well, we didn't fall out, and nobody I knew ever fell out. Of course the dogs rode back there too. Pickups were "country convertibles" in the pre-politically correct days. The woman in the truck had the kids belted into car seats. I can't tell if the front seat is too full for the kids, or just that they all enjoy riding in the breeze. Is it as safe as riding in the cab with a seat belt on? No, but life ain't safe.
  8. With the smaller windscreens on my Ultralite, I always wear goggles over my glasses to protect from gravel. These are Scott Motocross goggles, and I cover the top half with black electrical tape, and it does a great job of keeping the sun out of my eyes. When th esun is low in the sky, sometimes you just have to put your hand up.
  9. That guy drove the snot out of that Caterham. He had it hanging out the rear end in several places. it also looked like the Caterham didn't like that high speed bump at 2:14, it caused him to saw the wheel back and forth. Great video
  10. Subaru is looking to get exposure. They have put a WRX as the female cop's ride in the show "Eureka" on the syfy network.
  11. see: http://www.amctv.com/originals/the-prisoner/ Looking at the cars, it seems there are no Lotus Sevens. And they say Nov 15, 16 and 17 for the first few episodes
  12. I'm just impressed by how good the photo is. As an amateur who has tried to get good shots of my car, I am astounded by the lighting that yielded the shot in that garage. :hurray:
  13. It looks like sombody just goosed that Se7en.
  14. These are the ones I use on my Ultralite ( 3045), I like the adjustable length feature
  15. Why build it when you can buy it for $23,900 right now. Lots of great pictures. http://www.stlouiscarmuseum.com/stlcarmuseumtemplate.asp?id=768
  16. Yes, 2005 was wet for the Autocross. Glad you brought that up, that give me an opportunity to post a pic of my car, as I managed to get first place in Street Class Road course and autocross that year.
  17. Well the weather forecast today was for 2 to 4 inches of rain, with flash flood warnings. It shut down the road course at Gateway international Speedway in Madison IL, but NOT the autocross. (well not at first) It was raining like crazy, off and on, with a river running through the autocross course. The course was set up by the St.Louis region SCCA. They only got in about 2 to 3runs when the course shut down because the timing equipment stopped working because of the water on the cables/connectors. Only 3 sevens running, and one RCR Nemisis with a Hayabusa. here's some pics. It was the RSR guys with the Nemisis, then Chuck Spera in the Ultralite XR7 ( really low isn't it?) then John Meyers in #17 Stalker with a LS3 Corvette V8 crate motor and a really cool wing over the center of gravity. Then Marty Carrol with his Stalker. EVERYBODY got wet, drivers and spectators.
  18. I'm not competing this year , but plan on viewing on Thursday.
  19. Dave , if your car is anything like your bike frames, it should be perfect. I read your post, and seeing your email address, I got sidetracked, and spent almost an hour reading your website. The attention to detail and dedication to doing it all correctly is the reason your frames look so perfect. After looking at the pic, I would love to have one of your bikes, and I don't ride bikes. You are a real craftsman.
  20. She was not burdened by an excess of testosterone, and probably braked earlier, and took better lines through the corners.
  21. Not for very long. That's why I keep an eye on my rev indicator lights.
  22. I am running the Falken Azenis RT615 225 45 X 17 in front and the 245 45 X 17 in the rear. I have 17 X 7.5 rims in front and 17X8 in the rear ( SSR Compettion wheels) My rear axle is a 4:44 so I've got a bit more grunt in the low gears, and that is probably the reasom fo rthe wheelspin.
  23. I have Falkens on my S2K, and they are very good on the track and street, particularly when new. They definitely do not like being cold, and tend to loose grip when old and heat cycled ( like most tires) Opposite lock is not unusual in an S2k, prticularly if you hammer it in 1st or 2nd. With my half worn Falkens, full throttle in 2nd gear will break the tires loose continuously in a straight line. I can't comment on the hoosiers or the r888's as I have only used the falkens ( two sets). I'm not sure if you can ever get enough meat under the back end of a seven, particularly if you have high horepower. Edit: On the road course and on the drag strip, the performance of other similar S2k's with slicks was much better than mine with the Falkens, even the treaded Hoosier Dot Rain tire was better, of course they are in the R25 to R70 range, and the Falkens are 200 treadwear. Softer is stickier.
  24. Yes that is Jamie Pfeifer, still campaining the same Berkeley.
  25. The local British car guys had a show saturday, and had a great turnout of about 125 cars. I entered my Ultralite along with the guys from STALLS ( St. Louis Lotus Lovers) the local Lotus Ltd affiliate. The Loti included two Esprits, two Exiege's (one a limited edition S260 Sport) an Elan, a Caterham, my Ultralite and two 11's, one a Westfield, and the other an original Lotus 11. It was recently purchased by Charile Van Dyke, and it is absolutely beautiful, and in fantastic condition. Here's a shot of the group, and a few of Charlie's car , which took first place in the Lotus class. I was lusting for that green 11. I also included a shot of a 1959 Berkeley with a 500cc Enfield. I had seen the car before at the Monterey Historics and it turns out the owner has moved to St.Louis, and has raced the Berkeley at Monterey and in Europe. I once had a Berkeley, but it had the 3 cyl Excelsior two stroke motorcycle engine, not as fast as the enfield models. There were so few Berkeleys that I never thought I would see one again.
