I'm looking at different styles to get more protection. I haven't seen any cages with over head protection on an ultralite. I think it's due to the raising of the hood (no cowl). These are the two I'm interested in... or a combination of them as I want side protection. I like the first one for egress but the bars directly over the seats might be better protection.

The sad thing is that even if it's mediocre, it'll be better than most car shows. One of the things I like most about the original is they aren't afraid to offend manufacturers (I think it's national TV and not sponsored). Let's see how these guys do it and get advertising dollars at the same time..

Those FF vs cops videos wouldn't be so funny if there wasn't some truth there (at least from my experience)... and I do have a lot of Olympic medals in Motocross & bicycle racing;) But I must admit a lot of cops have very attractive wives/girlfriends.

I have pretty much 50/50 weight distribution with me in the car... sounds like I should put a little more on the front (the front never loses traction). But it seems more weight on the front would increase oversteer (contrary to the article). Like most things, I guess it's not that simple.

The Miata comes with A/C... I can't imagine people spending that kind of money for a car without a stereo & heating/cooling. It's expected nowadays. We're the lunatic fringe, remember?

I have a lot of ideas but no technical skills.... combining a rear view mirrow with a camera would save space and kill two birds with one stone. Just throw in a USB connection to download/hook up and use batteries or 12v hook up. Use buttons like some mirrors currently have for garage door openers to turn on/off. If they can put cameras in a cell phone, the mirror housing should be plenty of room. Add a microphone and it would be the perfect place to prevent wind buffeting noise. You could probably put a camear on the mirror side as well to catch both the driver and front view. I'll just take a small commission on each one sold;)

i'd think about a helmet for out of city driving if I didn't have a windshield... mainly for bug protection (sunglasses aren't enough) and wind buffeting. Though some swear the Brooklyns reduce buffeting too.

Ear plugs handle the noise/wind... would kind of feel like a dork wearing a helmet while driving around town, even the freeway. I have a windshield/air deflectors. Guess I feel the helmet won't help much if I get T-boned or someone pulls out in front of me. I do wear my 5 point harness. And am looking at more rollbar for side protection. Seriously, I'd be more worried about breaking my neck than hitting my head... guess I could wear a Hans Device with helmet everywhere;)
