7evin replied to sparecr's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Drive Drive Drive..... Nothing like a long road trip/adventure in a 7. I can hardly sleep at night thinking about being on the course at Barber !!!! That place is breathtaking.....:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: If all goes well Loren and I will both have cars there..... I just hope I can keep up with him. Cheers Kevin -

I think what westTex is referring to is that Fast is relative. For us its usually relative to a 7. If you want to make a Subibie fast compared to mustang that is relatively affordable. If you want to make a subbie fast compared to a 7,,,, well it might get rather expensive. For me for that type of car it is a toss up between the subbie and the EVO. Side note: The dude is an amazing driver bar none..... But the guy on the Segway has got a screw lose. Cheers 7evin

WOW.... That thing is beautiful...... Can't beat that screaming green..... No officer if was the other extremely green car.... I have tried that and they give you a really funny look..... But of course being a 7s driver we are use to funny looks. I can't wait to see this beast in person. Cheers and congrads. 7evin

That thing ROCKs.....:hurray: Its real beauty will not show up until you put it on the track..... You just won't believe it.... and neither will your competitors. It will do things on the track that will make you feel like superman. I actually have dreams about driving my car... It is very satisfying to pass vettes, vipers and porsches.,,, multiple times per session. LOVE the color. Cheers 7evin

I like the AFCO over the Griffin. We had issues with the Griffin. It is a Scirocco Radiator. Summit or Jegs carries them. If you have Q's about it let me know I can send pics of how we set ours up. We run ours upside down so the inlets are on the correct side. I have a spare in you need it for mock up. Cheers 7evin

and a dry sump..... MoPho and Xflow7 and any one else that makes it. give me a call when you get there and I'll give you my booth #.... We should also have free energy drinks if you would like one come by. Cheers K

I can most likely get extra passes if some one in the 7's forum wants to go. The show is beyond belief. PRI is amazing but if you can imagine it for an automobile its at SEMA. We were lucky enough to be invited to show Mojito at the show. There is no way we could afford to go otherwise. My concern is that Mojito is a race car that gets raced.... raced hard... she is not a show car, this place is chocked full of flawless cars... I hope we don't look like a farm tractor at a ferrari convention... If you are interested please let me know ASAP so I can make it happen. Cheers 7evin

It seems to help quite a bit. I would say it is good for 20 to 30 degrees. I have not taken measurements. Cheers 7evin

Team 47 Thunder Burrito, Reyaldo Rodriguez, Jose Fernandez some great guys. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1173579761_lambos.bmp They hit something in the parking lot the 1st day and developed a bad coolant leak. They had their other car delivered overnight. Jaguar XKR http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/853884287_DSCN0399 (Medium).JPG They placed 17th overall Cheers 7evin

Hey Guys, Well we pulled off a 12.97 in the 1/4 which gave us a 5th place finish at the drag races. Not shabby for a rental with luggage. After 9 days the event has already recovered 1 child. Our team distributed over 1200 flyers over a 3500 mile area. We managed to hold onto 1st place in the Sports Car class and Overall winner in points. I wanted to say thanks again to Chuck and Barb for driving across the state to give us their support. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1265572626_DSCN0515 (Medium).JPG Thanks to my friend Loren for helping with clues over the phone. Thank you, to all of you who share this adventure with us over the web. We thrive on your words of encouragement, support and ideas. THANK YOU.... Now its off to Run-n-Gun. I am going to see about setting up a live webcam at the event if anyone is interested in viewing. Cheers 7evin

Unlimited Mileage !!!! Gotta love it.... We are still holding first place..... Just got off the track about an hour ago. Took third. Got beat out of 2nd by .011 seconds. Was very surprised to see my good friends Chuck and Barb show up. We have distributed just over 1000 flyers in 8 days for Sabrina Allen, the little girl we are looking for. Saturday is our last day . I'll post more pics shortly. Cheers 7evin

Hey Guys, Thought we would bring you up to date with the 9 day Fireball run that we have been doing for the last 4 days. We are currently holding on to first place with our rental vette http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1283231545_DSCN0363 (Medium).JPG The FireBall Run is a transcontinental Rally where we search for missing children. www.fireballrun.com Last year we were directly responsible for helping find 12 missing children. We also get to race each other on tracks. Here are a few pics of what we are up against. 4 Lambos http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1020448826_DSCN0381 (Medium).JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1927829576_DSCN0394 (Medium).JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1572560899_DSCN0400 (Medium).JPG 3 ZO6's http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/819150310_IMGA0025 (Medium).JPG A 783 hp cobra mustang http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1101856504_IMGA0031 (Medium).JPG Cobras, Barabus Benzs, Jags, Chargers, Challengers...... Hey Bob, When you start hunting elephants with that beast of a 7, I'll bring my truck, trailer and video camera and we will own youtube... I could move the wing but I'm afraid that cause other issues and make the car much harder to get in and out of. The further back the wing is mounted the more leverage you have on the back of the car. 600 hp man o man that is going to be scary... I'm sure you home theater will be just as crazy. Thanks for your input. Cheers 7evin

Hey Bob, You're on the money as usual. I have about 2 inches of clearance for the oil pan. I have dropped the front wing and added a spring loaded suspension system to it to allow it to move up if it hits something. I have also skinned the entire bottom of the car. I put the smaller pulley (90mm vs 100mm) on the supercharger today and took it for a drive. Reminded me of that ride I took with you in your car.... My wife was with me, She said "Holy Shit... that is scary..." ( I didn't tell her it scared me too... ) Its almost impossible to look at the gauges to see what is going on. The first 4 gears happen so fast that is all you can do to keep it on the road. 5th gear you can look, but your way over a 100 mph so you can only glance at them for a split second. On a track its much easier. I have an 85mm pulley but I don't think I am going to install it. We are already at 6 psi when it goes into Vtech (5500 rpms). I feels like its going to wheelie. Wing issue The problem that we are up against is that we need the rear wing to give enough down force to keep traction on the rear tires. Without the wing on the front anything over 160 gets rather dicey. You can control it but it does not give you warm fuzzes AT ALL.... With the wing on it is absolutely planted. I may attempt a run without them..... Thanks for the input, If you have any other ideas please share them. Did you get your freeze plug issue fixed? Cheers 7

We also have extra garage space. and plenty of beer... Cheers 7evin -
11Budlite Thanks for the great links and info. Thanks DeanG I have been busting A, all week to address several of these issues to clean and strengthen the car up for this coming months events. 1. can't do much about this. 2. running 3.5 in. front tires if everything work out ok. 3. no changes 4. The s2k is fairly clean here. 5. I have been working on a way to clean up the sides of the car, but do not think it will be ready in time. Skinny rear tires will not work for us because we can't get enough bite with them to reach our top speed in one mile. 6. Good idea but again its a time thing. 7. I think this will be a big help. The rear of the car is presenting the biggest challenge. 8. In progress. 9. gain not feasible. 10. same 11. HP, HP , HP.... I guess at this point is going to be how much we can safely squeeze out of her. Maybe I can promise her some chocolate..... seems to work with my wife ... Thanks Brian, We will give it our best. cheers 7

Of all the racing on the planet. I think Rally racing is probably the craziest... My hat is totally off to those guys. Cheers 7evin

manik, we would love to do Bonneville. Our big concern is having to tear the car completely down after to get rid of the salt. I have talked to a few guys who do it and they highly recommended a complete tear down afterwards. At a minimum you should do some photoshop work and post it just in case he checks. Might be fun.... to let him squirm a bit down under.... Cheers 7evin

Thats funny !!! I don't remember you speaking in Japanese though... Cheers 7evin

Hey Tom, I agree with your assertion of what a 7 was designed to do, and do well it does. My curiosity is how fast has one of these cars traveled on the face of this planet. As far as its ability on a curvy road or on a race track there is nothing I know of that gives you more bang for your buck/pound/yen/mark/ect. Of course when you have an unlimited budget you can have anything... IE see my post... When money is no object... 7 style Mojito was built by two regular guys in a garage not a machine shop, well we had a band saw, welder, drill press, and a belt sander, and a very tight budget. Way less money than it would take to buy a new caterham R500. Just thought it would be a neat fact to know. WOW a 6.6L V8..... That is 3X more displacement than what we have (2.2L) That has got to be wicked fast I will try to get in contact with him and find out if he has recorded a top speed with the car. Cheers 7evin
