  1. Please help yourself Tom. I have a bunch more but it is too difficult to post them here because it only allows 4 at a time and they are all at the bottom so you can't nariate around them and make the story flow better. Or at least I have not figured it out yet. That is one thing I liked about the old forum better. If you would like more shots I would be happy to email them to you,
  2. Pic 9. Touch down..... Now it is time to take them out for an extensive Test Drive.... Thats the Job I want..... Pic 10. Looking out the back door..... I just want to have carnal knowledge with all of them.... I could go on and on about their craftmanship but most of you already know this. I have to say this was the high light of my trip to the UK. Thank you to all the folks at Caterham Cheers 7evin
  3. Pic 5. Back from Paint and all the electrical gets added and tested. pic 6. Hardware time ...... Look at them all lined up getting all the good stuff... Pic 7. I am not sure what Doc is telling Him..... What ever it is its some thing rather small. pic 8. Here they finish the final details before she puts her feet on the floor for the first time.
  4. How do I even begin.... As you would expect... from 7's people... They were so nice.... It seems no matter what part of the planet I travel when I meet 7's people they are always so nice..... Must be all the fresh air they get by driving an open cockpit car... We rolled out of the sack and ran down the street about 15 min and jumped on the tube. 15 min to the train station at Cannon street and southbound to Dartford. (Slade Green) 20 minute walk from there and we were 15 minutes early.... (total trip was about 1.5 hours to get there) We were greeted at the plant By Gideon Wigger (Operation Director). This chap worked for Lotus for 15 years... To say he knows what's going on is an absolute understatement. This guy has every customer that has a car on the line memorized.... Each customer's name is on the car as it goes through all the processes (along with a Build sheet) as we walked through we would ask questions and he would look at the name and tell us the story.... I was very impressed. Some weeks they are unleashing 7 of these little beasts into the world.... This is a well oiled machine. Pic 1. This is your first view of the magic... I so wanted to go put on some coveralls and go to work... I'm quite sure these boys could teach me a thing or 2 or 3 or 1000... pic 2. This is where they roll through the door and begin their life in the plant. They are all mig wielded except for the CSR's they are still brazed... and beautifully so. I wanted to give each one some cool name... maybe after the 7 dwarfs... pic 3. From left to right. Gideon, Doc Harmony, Caterham R500 and a chic from Formula 1. pic4. In this step they do everything that needs to be done before they get painted. I believe he said paint takes 24 hours for turn around... Wow.
  5. Alright Guys, I was able to pull off a personalized tour of the factory.... Told them I was a member of the best 7's group in the world and they made special arrangements to allow us to be there. I am stoked. Will report back tomorrow pics and a story hopefully. Takes about an hour and a half to get there by Tube/Train/Bus Cheers 7evin
  6. Thanks for all the good info. I was considering renting one for a week but it has been raining pretty heavy ever since we landed... We shall see As they say here.... Cheers Mate 7evin
  7. Hey Guys, I am going to be in London for business and I am going to try and visit the birth place of the Caterham that we all love. If any of you Caterham drivers need small parts that I can bring back for you let me know in the next few days. Maybe while I'm there I can talk someone into letting me drive one of those Caterham RS Levante..... If you caterham guys know anyone you can pull some strings with I would be indebted to you......
  8. That's Chuck .... Down and Dirty.... I think his is the lowest of the XR7's ... It is not street driven at that altitude I don't believe.
  9. Probably a fair warning..... Chuck does things one way, 100% right, no holds BARRED... He is an absolute wealth of knowledge... Cheers 7evin
  10. Love the wing,,,,, Grand Turismo east.... Great guys, Thats were I get my suspension setups done. Cool car, Love the Toyota Supra wheels. I have 3 Supra's 83, 84, and an 85 Cheers 7evin
  11. Mondo, I think that is a pretty safe assumption..... Cheers 7evin
  12. Life starts to gets very REAL at that speed.... At the moment you are totally focused and the Adrenalin is squirting out of your ears.... The next day.... You are like have I lost my f&*k#$ mind ?.... Am I having thoughts of the after life and trying to cross over early ?.... Then the next time you are on the track the testosterone kicks in and you are like, What kind of pu**y thoughts were those, this is for men not sissy's and with a battle cry you forge back out to the upper limits that separate the boys from the lunatics.... Rock on brother... shift to 6th and hit the Nitrous button and give us a report... Cheers 7evin
  13. Hemp is the standard fiber of the world. It has great tensile strength and durability. It is used to produce more than 5,000 textile products, ranging from rope to fine laces, and the woody "hurds" remaining after the fiber has been removed contain more than seventy-seven per cent cellulose, and can be used to produce more than 25,000 products, ranging from dynamite to Cellophane. I contacted numerous people in Canada about using body panels made from a composite of hemp matting impregnated with a resin based on rapeseed oil. I was convinced and still am that it is the way to go. We just ran out of time to get the car ready for the One Lap. Henry Ford had this idea long before us..... But even being the industrial and financial titan that he was, the power that be were not going to let that happen. Henry Ford demonstrated that the plant hemp could be transformed into a lightweight material stronger than steel. The perfect material for car bodies. Who needs steel? Maybe the guys who owned all the iron ore and coal fields (the Rockefeller syndicate) needed steel which is why for decades this simple technological possibility has been denied to us. Maybe if I can get in touch with the right people we could get them to sponser the panels for the car.... I'm sure that that would make the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) happy. I might just want to mount some gattling guns on it while I'm at it.... We are looking at tires for the next racing season that are made with orange peel to lighten our foot print even more. That will probably be easier.... I don't think any one has heartburn about orange peels... Good one Martin. I like the look they have for the car. Cheer 7evin
  14. I have hardly driven any of those cars, Passed a bunch of them on the track and had several of them pass me. I would love the opportunity to drive all of them. As far as Hank's opinion .... I have a new Hero.... No holds bared with Him... ROFL... They say a picture is worth a 1000 words..... Well here is 2000 words worth and I'm more confused than I was before. On the topside I agree with Hank..... On the bottom side... whew that could be a stiff argument.... Cheers 7evin
  15. Jack, The build you are doing is awesome. Went through your pics. Something to consider is that if you take the ARE pan (already proven) and put 90 degree fittings going straight up then your lines would not hang. You have to have some type of galley for the oil to gather so the pump can scavenge it. Another thought is to start with their pan and modify it to your specs. If you would like I can take some measurements of my setup (when I get back home) and tell you what the differnce is between it and stock so you can see what you need to change. Cheer 7evin
  16. For dry sumps check out ARE. Just got one and it is very well made. http://www.drysump.com/index1.htm Cheers 7evin
  17. Actually at 700 hours it was still running but cylinder 4 had lost 8 psi on the compression test. The other 3 cylinders were fine. He was amazed himself that it was still running so strong. He stated that the standard test was to run the motor at red line for 50hrs then compression test it and mic the the bearings. Run it another 50 hours and do the same thing. There could be no compression loss and some ridiculously small amount of bearing loss. (this is a standard test on all honda motors) All of this at read line and max torque load.... I was floored. If you were in 5th gear (not 6th) and you could hold it at red line (aprox. 150 mph) you could travel to and from Savannah Ga and LA just over 6 times. (15000 miles) Cheers 7evin
  18. I say smell the roses, smoke the tires and live life full throttle. You never know when some thing will get you. My Great Uncle George always told me to things 1. do what you enjoy when you can do it. Because when you get older you might not be able to do what you want. 2. How you treat your body when you are younger is how your body will treat you when you get older.. I wish I had listened to that a little more carefully... At 80 he could still do 50 push ups and 50 deep knee bends... He was a stud ... My wife and I discovered a program call P90X... It rocks.. She looks better than most of the women I see that are 18 to 20 years old. We do it 6 days a week. You have to invest your time in your Health. Or otherwise it fades. So down shift, Apex the corner and drop the hammer.... Life its what YOU make of it! Cheers 7evin
  19. Wow mine does not have that... wish it did... Its a great unit though... Cheers 7evin
  20. Yes both the Corvette (Hertz) and the Sublime Daytona Charger (Budget) were Rentals. We got the unlimited mileage on both. The Daytona we turned in after 5 weeks with 12,902 additional mile on the clock. (Atlanta to Orlando to LA to Seattle to LA to Las Vegas (SEMA) and finally back to Atlanta) The Corvette with 7391 additional miles on the clock (9 days in the Fireball Run and 3 days of Loren and my wife taking turns with it at Run and Gun. (almost 4 weeks) The Difference between Rental car and Race car...... Stickers Cheers 7evin

  22. I'm sure the other dogs in the neighborhood were like.... " Suzzie must be hitting the tequila pretty hard these days...." Been there done that.... have the magic marker scars to show for it... Good One.... 73vin
  23. Man ! When can I come out and build something New.... Maybe we should build a 7 version of the space shuttle.... It will do Mach 22.... I'm sure you could come up with a few mods to get 23 or 24 out of it.... :D Congrads 7evin
  24. " Now I have stirred the pot, and will hold on! " Whew..... I won't even get started on how I agree with both you and MHKflyer on this subject.... And I find those who are there to enforce it all are the worst offenders. Any time I can keep money out of their pockets its like xmas for me.... We spend 60k to 80k (miles) behind the wheel of something, so I have all the hardware that I think will make it xmas as often as possable. BearTracker scanner: Warning System - Alerts you to activity on Highway Patrol link frequencies to let you know if there is activity within about 3 miles of your location. Another great tool is Trapster: its a FREE service that allows users to share the location of police speed traps using mobile phones and other types of devices. http://www.trapster.com. Radar Detector Escort 9500ci... It was worth every penny I paid for it. It jams laser both front and rear..... And it works... I have been hit with laser over 15 times and no takers.... It is so funny to see the cop holding the gun on you... He will just keep holding on you till you blow by... Then they lower the gun and give you this weird look like... WTF ... I laugh every time... Some times I even wave at them... I Love It... I thank Santa Claus every time In the Charger and the Corvette we ran the Blinder unit http://www.blinder.net/ 2 years in a row in the Fireball Run http://www.fireballrun.com (won it last year) My wife got hit with laser in excess of 100 mph (Bad Girl) She never even let off..... (bigger balls then me) Mojito will get the Blinder Extreme. Can't say enough about their unit. All of that being said.... I am not one to drive like an idiot in traffic... But if I'm on the highway in the middle of no where I see NO harm with making good time. and letting it roll. As long as it does not impose on others. My $0.02 worth Cheers 7evin
  25. Thats the only problem with a grass green 7..... I could hardly find it when its there by its self.... Sure glad my wife has red hair... much harder for her to sneak up on me. 7-7-7.... It was a total blast, great mems, pics, 7s and above all great peps. Cheers 7evin
