  1. Bruce, did you ever check your transmission fill to see if it is over filled? Gary
  2. I had a glass shop make me a pair from P.C. I looked at the Caterham site and made mine close to theirs. I made a pattern for them to follow, and used the Birkin pins. I made a quick set of brackets to grip the pins. They help in the cool weather. Gary
  3. Bruce, yes on the polishing. I also have some scars from where the fender braces hit. I'm running Folis's short steering arms. I need to go to wide track on the front end before I paint though. I have the engine out for a rear main leak at this time. Gary
  4. My filter is listed as INDUCTION TECHNOLOGH GROUP JC 40. I have 45MM TBI's Gary
  5. Delayne Mine is also ITG. It isn't too bad if you lift the other side first a little. I then lift it up from the center leaning over the right side of the cover. Gary
  6. Bruce It must be him that all my neighbors complain about driving too fast! I have plans of BRG on the rest of it. Gary

  9. I made a backing plate the exact size of the L. plate. I used two Adel clamps to hold the top of the plate to the cross bar at the lower rear area of the nose. I then added a brace from the bottom of the plate to the cross brace in front of the oil pan. The bottom of the plate sticks out well past the top. It made a nice little air dam for the front. Will hold the front down at speed over 35 MPH. I purchased a car from a southern state a few years back with dark window tent. The next AM on the way to the office some dipshit new cop gave me a ticket, no warning, but a ticket. If that great crime fighter saw me with out a front plate he would likely shoot me. Gary

    FORREST GUMP

Forrest Gump Explains Mortgage Backed Securities Mortgage Backed Securities are like boxes of chocolates. Criminals on Wall Street stole a few chocolates from the boxes and replaced them with turds. Their criminal buddies at Standard & Poor rated these boxes AAA Investment Grade chocolates. These boxes were then sold all over the world to investors. Eventually somebody bites into a turd and discovers the crime. Suddenly nobody trusts American chocolates anymore worldwide. Hank Paulson now wants the American taxpayers to buy up and hold all these boxes of turd-infested chocolates for $700 billion dollars until the market for turds returns to normal. Meanwhile, Hank's buddies, the Wall Street criminals who stole all the good chocolates, are not being investigated, arrested, or indicted. Mama always said: "Sniff the chocolates first, Forrest". :nonod: :nonod:
  11. Hi Jerry, did the original rotors warp? Were they brand rotors? You forgot to mention the front rotors warping. Note to all. Do NOT replace with AutoZone rotors. Buy name brand rotors ans solve the problem the first time. (smile) Gary
  12. Hi Jerry, did the original rotors warp? Were they brand rotors? (smile) Gary
  13. Mazda, did you tow your 7 with the Buick? If so did you use a trailer or flat trailer it? Transmission problems?
  14. I also read things I could agree on in all the posts. Like Mazda I see the waste in spending and corrupt contract practices. Like Dave, when we had a business we supported our small struggling township police dept. and fire dept. with pre tax money. Each year I met with the chief of both, and through the township office we listed what the money would purchase. After a few years of watching both departments operate I dropped the police dept. due to what I perceived as excessive waste and poor management. My point, we had the choice to give not having it taken and wasted. Our contribution had no strings other than their accountability. Voting is like life, it is not a dress rehearsal. Get it right, and most get one vote & one chance. Gary
  15. As a friend of mine said many years ago: “Thank god we don’t get all the government we pay for”. If we would just receive 50% of what we paid for, we could reduce all taxes by 50 %. Look at what the hogs are doing with the bail out $$$. They are still buying votes and blowing our money with it. I as well as most Americans was against this pork loaded pile of cash handed out to the same thieves who were responsible for the mess. My thoughts extend down to state and local government as well. If government, were as responsible as most small business owners we wouldn’t be in this mess. We need more like Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Aparo in government. Gary
  16. It must be up to me then. Too good!!
  17. Bruce, I’m a lucky grandfather it is like having my son all over again. He & I also did both of the same from the same age on. I have not had the grandson to any auto events yet, but many day long aviation events and he never wants to go home. He has flown 5 A/C (in the air only) so far. He has told me when I’m done with either, they are his. I hope our country will be in shape for our kids and grandkids to enjoy what we have. I’m looking at doing a heim joint wide track mod to the Birkin. I have added a cover over the rear axle, along with the aero-shield it has helped on the top end. Both were easy low cost projects. Gary
  18. My 7 year old grandson was 6 when I got the 7. I had him in a booster seat but felt better with him sitting lower W/O it. He was & is well belted in and wears eye protection. I pick him up at school on some Fridays & we do many drives in the country also. He also requires a flight in th A/C at least once a week with light acro. He loves both and is deeply interested in both. Gary
  19. I broke down the other day and reinstalled the windshield for some late fall driving. Temperatures of 50’ to 60’ are still pleasant now. We still have most leaves on the trees although the rain will change that tonight. Gary :7drive:
  20. I like the windscreen rake and color. Gary
  21. I had to do the same on my R888 in heavy rain covered roads. Mixing it up with larger cars on a freeway was a white knuckle drive, even with less than 1000 miles on them. Light rain was fine. Gary
  22. I didn't do your work, but the yellow looks to be worth the pain. I'm not a detail person and it shows. I must be missing a gene from what I see in the rest of the well detailed 7's I have seen. Gary
  23. NICE S1! Welcome to someone from E Town that has seen the light. Your trip to finding a 7 was much like mine. Gary
  24. Bruce, I picked my serial # off the pad you have shown above. My problem is it isn't in tables listed. My number is (7) numbers not (5)after the alpha number. What I found was: 1L7007015. I will get another close up when I pull the engine this winter. Do I have 1/2 of an small LSI? I do like your yellow color. Gary
  25. Geoff, Yes it looks like the head was cast the 5th month of 98. It would be unclear when they used the head though. Gary
