  1. Once you have the number how do you find out what year it is? Gary
  2. Jerry, It was a great party last year with great food & people. The ride in your Yellow Bullet was exciting also. I sure hate to miss the events this year. Gary
  3. Did you have a very large political sign on your trailer facing his?
  4. Dave, I have Googled and found Spec clutches, but 2 dealers have told me the aluminum option is not an option for the Zetec zx3. I sure would like to loose the weight though. Gary
  5. I’m appalled over this register and vote in the same day in Ohio. I have voted in Ohio for too many years to have the election corrupted here. Now I know why all the old people in Ohio move to FL, they can screw up the election there also. Gary
  6. I just posted this on another site: Not long after I got my Birkin, I removed the carpet. I then added a non slip wing walk in front of the seats to aid getting in and out. My feet no longer slide on the floor. The sheets are pre-glued. You order it by the foot and it is cheap. You cut to fit, clean the floor and stick. I just did the 1' in front of the seats. http://store.wagaero.com/ Self-Adhesive Wing Walk, Cat. No K-311-001 Gary:crazy:
  7. I think I would need to see it on a dyno but I'm sure not the expert on these 2.0 engines. Mine with the TBI's and adjustable cam gears only did 113 on the rear wheels. The stock head is very restrictive though. Gary
  8. I like the fit of the SV, but $$? I question the 185HP. I didn't even see TBI's. Gary
  9. I sure wish all you tax payers would make me whole from all of the bad investing I and my broker talked me into. I didn't know it was owed to me, but send the money. Not that I’m radical or anything, but I’ll climb on board with the bail out after they execute all those responsible for this.
  10. With my much wrecked 6’1” body I purchased a good rain suit after using the factory top last year. I had too many problems trying to craw through the small side window. I don’t jump off anything much over 2’ anymore either. With the heater and helmet it is survivable. The down side is the inside clean up after a wet drive. Gary
  11. If you take a spare in a can you also need a length of rope. With the rope and a good screwdriver or rod you can wrap the rope around the tire and tighten it with the rod to push it back to the edge of the rim. You will still need the jack to raise the car to make the tire round again for this to work.
  12. My road map to the “7” was through way too many exotic and collector cars. It took me 30 years to finally slow down and buy a “7”. For 30+ years I purchased and resold everything with an internal combustion engine that I was interested in. It was a great and fun road trip all over North America. For me it was a great hobby that required much research, mechanical skills, and good contacts for things I couldn’t do my self. Spending the required time to purchase and then the required time to resell them, on most I didn’t loose money and had great and some great toys to play with. I also met some very interesting people from all over the world. Many are still friends and we are still in contact at times. The key for all involved was not to get greedy and almost all I came into contact represented their product and selves accurately so we all enjoyed the transaction. Now that I have no hair, I’m not employed, and viewed by most of the population as old. I love the “7” and for once in my life am not looking for what to get next. It is all about what to do with, and to it next. Through it I have also met more great people.
  13. Bruce, I wouldn't be driving an 7 here. I would move out of CT! Gary
  14. I also did some miles this weekend. Weather was great, temps were also great. On some roads I spent more time missing horse sh** than anything. Very nice farm country with rolling hills and few cars. With the home made aero shield it is like a ride on a bike, with better handling than all the H.D.'s I pass. After a few seconds they find out they brought a knife to a gun fight. Almost all enjoy the wake-up.
  15. Al if you buy this, please take a photo of th girls face when you pull it into drive. If the spouse finds photos here, she will make you bring it home in the early AM. Gary
  16. I am looking for a Lotus Elise station wagon that gets 30 mpg and cost about 5k. = Jumper cables. I hope you don't need to be at work every day.
  17. I will be picking up my grandson (2nd grade)today at school again. My wife was to, but he requested me and the 7. I have a fixed position seat for the driver in mine so it can only be me picking him up. It is like having an $100 bill around your neck, everyone likes you. He has it in his head, some day it will be his. Gary
  18. With my home made aeroshield I use goggles due to stones down to road dirt from the tires. A little driving with soft tires will start to fill the inside of the car. I drive 100% on paved roads. The factory windshield is a big speed brake. As it cools down here in Ohio I will be reinstalling the speed brake though. I think Ohio's rule is: If there is a windshield, you must have wippers. I'm unsure of the exact rule though. My mini front plate wing feels like it helps reduce lift at high speed. It could just be hopefull feelings to me.
  19. The front plate will make a good splitter or mini wing.
  20. Sorry Mike, I was looking FWD to the drive as was Ron with his Lotus. With no roof, I had more fun at home with the grandson.
  21. As sitting in the car the water pump is on the L side, and has 3 bolts. The cam covers are plastic and have the 1/2 round depressions into the head in the rear. It has the serpentine belt config. For a clutch disk to fit the little t-9 spline what do we use? My steel crank pulley looked to be just a few pounds as is.
