  1. I have started a project of adding brakes and enclosing my little 12' open aluminum trailer. As soon as the weather goes south, I’ll go over the engine and T-9 leak. I also could do a wide track mod as well. Gary
  2. I out the big ugly flat plate heated windshield and heater back on the car. I can tell the difference as it isn't as crisp after around 6,800 in 4th. That windshield sure makes a difference.
  3. I think he moved on to be the Automobile Czar!
  4. BusaNostra, "I met the first guy who imported Birkins using Honda s2000 engine. He lives in Springfield Massachusetts racing Fiat & Corvette. Give me time to think the guy's name. I know you are leaning toward Birkins. Honda S2000 engine is class by itself, people were facinated looking at the lump". I'm sorry I thought you were speeking of the Birkin with "your" install of the Honda S2000 into the Birkin.
  5. I like the idea of the S2000. Can you get the S2000 in where it isn't poking out the top side or dragging on the road? Will the 6 speed honda box fit as well? Do you need to tilt it like the XR7, if so is a dry sump needed? I like the Little Zetec, but not L.exhaust. The T-9 is not good for hard up shifts, but is a smooth shifting box if not pushed hard. @185 RWHP on pump gas and 1220 LBS it is a fun package though.
  6. Robert, The scheduled visit changed, I'm trying to change some things now to make the tour. Gary
  7. We have lost a few cars to them around here. With daylight going south it is a large problem here. At night I doubt you can miss them, if they make it into your lights.
  8. 7evin, My personal Nitrous button has run out. This is the first thing I have ever owned, that within a few days I didn't know how fast it would go. That in the past could not have happened. Now from past experiences the thoughts of pain take over, and I have started to ask myself why. The chase has started to wind down for me. The day after thoughts you speak of above, and my memories of the pain has already made me stop riding bikes. Hell, of all things I even own a Buick now! Gary
  9. Any near misses by the forest rats (deer)? A friend was in the same area last weekend, and a couple that was riding with them on cycles woke up at the E.M. after hitting one. Gary
  10. Robert, I sure didn't want to miss this. The offer is still open on weighing the car.
  11. Look on the Birkin owners web site as well. I just found out QA1 only had 250 LB in 8" for the rear, now are on order for me. I now run 8" springs F&R. If you look at QA1's site they are only $50 each. If you do the 8" on the rear, it will give you the chance to use them on F or R.
  12. Robert, I will be unable as we have some guests that will not be departing till Sunday.
  13. Robert, I have changed over to 350 LB springs in the front and 180 LB springs in the rear. Mine from the factory was 170LB Front & 130LB Rear. I plan on going to 300 LB in the rear. Stop down, with my lift it makes the weighing much less work and faster. It is just a matter of sitting the car down on the scales, lift up adjust, down & up till you get what you want. It takes time, as you try to learn how to transfer weight. I'm still in the early stages of it. I have a little less than 3" under my bell housing.
  14. You can set it for solo or two up. People weight is a large percentage of the total car weight. I have a pan guard, but also watch out for roads with truck created ruts. I tend to find them in small towns that have overloaded truck traffic. You can adjust the ride height of most if not all, but it requires alingment changes when done.
  15. The nose isn't to my personal taste. But like color it is in one's eye.
  16. My oil temp, is about the same as the water temp. +- 10'
  17. Ok, so far 4th is 133, next comes 5th. I think with the .93 5th at an 8,000 shift it only drops 560 RPM. That would work out to 142, if it will do 8,000 in 5th. I added a little toe in so it is a little more stable at speed.

    la drivers?

Slomove, Colorado has many nice areas to live, only if you do forced induction for the altitude. From flying out there, I know what the affect is on performance. Other than the Photo enforcement, Arizona would also be a target for me.
  19. john@quantumechanics.com he is at: http://www.quantumechanics.com/ Gary
  20. Panasonic also makes one that size with more cranking amps than the PC680. I have tried both in my A/C, they didn’t hold up with my 11.5 to 1 CR. Last week I drove home 30 miles, lights on in the dark with my alternator inop. I sure was glad I had a normal size battery. A wire had broken of the alternator.
  21. If I'm in the area and no rain, I will be there. Gary
  22. My Escort 9500 has GPS and will alow you to lock out the false hits from alarms and other microwaves at the same point all the time. Again, ont a cheap date, but worth it.
