  1. GREAT! Just advise of time, we will be there.
  2. I will be driving 300+ miles if rain, no roof just rain suit. I did a auto-X in the rain last month @ 50' with no issues. Gary
  3. Congratulations to Kevin & Michelle, what an undertaking with an outstanding finish. After a week of stress the warm glow for each other still radiated for all to see. Their reception for the people they interacted with was also outstanding. I found the loud car alarm from the car next to their car, most annoying. With what they had been through for the last week Kevin just made a joke about it. Loren, Kevin and Michelle Are prime examples of what the 7 community is about. When I met Loren last year @ Gateway he was pulling parts from his broken WCM7 and was repairing others with his parts. None asked for his help, he just jumped in and did it. It was also apparent Michelle didn’t just endure this event she was a major part of it, all three are great people. Gary
  4. What a day, we met Kevin and Michelle @ Beaver Run today. He was flying. He ended up 4th fastest for the event. Much faster times than some real fast & well done cars. The smile on their faces said it all. Looking in the mirrors at GT-40's and a Viper, as well as other cars on a road track said volumes about his skill and the 7 they built. Michelle is a real support person on their two person team, did I say she also looks great after 6 days on the road. What a wife! Gary
  5. I plan on Beaver Run Friday to see what a fast 7 looks like. Gary
  6. I did this drive years ago in an early 911 with way too much over steer, it was then the new wife found out what she was in for. After all of these years and too many fast cars she is still here. She loves the 7 and never has a issue if it at times is a little loose.
  7. I also like local fare, I will be 1 as well. A friend with the Europa will likely join us. I'm not big on buffets, but will go with all. I plan on Friday & Saturday and depart early Sunday. Gary
  8. I'm not sure I knew to register USA7s.org as I did this back on 3-17-08. Is there a code on the confirmation? There will be a Europa with me fo the "other group". I think Frank & Pat were planning on this with their CSR as well a few others from Cleveland, Oh area. Southwind 7 should know if they registered.
  9. Try: http://thetireshoppe.com/default.asp?ID=276&sa=y&pagedata=newtires&display=1&nav=5&ModelID=2337&SizeID=32827 193.00 & 199.00 for the R888 TOYO's at The Tire Shoppe. The R888 tire is great in the rain and are even better dry. They heat up fast as well. I now use my Falken RT615 set for trips only. They cost less than the R888's and do ok for performance driving, the R888 is much better for me though. Toyo also has an 100.00 rebate on a set of 4. Mine was issued as a prepaid Visa debit card that is good anywhere. I think it is in your area. Joe sure gave me great service. Gary
  10. I did a very light 2 wheel trailer for mine. It keeps it up away from the stones and road junk as well as saves the tires. I think my trailer weighs 700 pounds. I had flat towed a car behind a motorhome for about the same miles and the front took a beating. I have never seen it, but a front deflector could do the job. Best of luck with yours. Gary
  11. You can also try http://www.edgeracing.com/tires/1956014/ they have your size @ $60.00 I just purchased a set of 15" from them. Gary
  12. My Birkin has a large Burns repackable muffler from: http://www.burnsstainless.com/. It was quite loud untill I repacked with S.S. wool. I now have more noise from the TBI's @ YOT. Ear protection helps with that and the air noise @ speed. It is a straight through system with a 2” perforated pipe that allows the sound suppression. I think it is 6” X 23”. It is likely the same as the DNA system. Mine is set-up that you remove 1 bolt and 2 quick release springs and remove it. Gary
  13. Congratulations on your new car. I would call Brian and ask him what the problem is. I had talked to him a few times and got to meet him last fall @ Gateway. He is a real class guy that supports his product. Everyone at the party that had dealings with Brian was very happy with him, he has a strong following. Likely he could give you the answer. There is also an owner’s site @ http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ultralite_USA/ . Be careful and enjoy. Gary
  14. Bob, Jackie & I will be along as well as Ron Schneider in his Lotue Europa. We can meet at your meeting point. Gary
  15. Still unsure yet, + is better for me if I go as the grandson is staying over Sat. night and would need to take him home first. Gary
  16. What is the start time & where. Not sure of plans yet. There is also an Auto-X Sunday as well. Gary
  17. Dave, Thanks for the weight info, my scales just came in yesterday. Your info has me rethinking what I'mm doing to the car. Gary
  18. Dave, You mentioned "corner weighted and balanced". What is your weigh at each wheel, & what formula did you use to arrive at the proper target weights? I assume you had your weight loaded into the seat for this. You also said you had to add weight to get to D mod. What is your EW? I thought EW in D Mod was 1280 With driver? I plan on doing the corner weight on my Birkin today, but didn't know the target % at each. Gary
  19. I have a set of the Ultra Shield, Spec Miata seats. They fit into my Birkin fine, but tight on the sides. My sides also. These were a drop-in seat once I removed the seat rails for the stock seats. Mine have a plate that matched the front seat adjustment rail holes. There was also a rear bracket that fit under the stock shoulder harness bolts. They have a snap on cover that is Spartan, but functional. My stock Birkin seats sit a little close FWD and high for me. The Ultra shield with the stock mounting brackets fit a little too far aft for me. The other problem is with my aged body is removing myself from them. They will be on loan to another local Birkin owner for some time shortly. Gary
  20. Rod's Road House 257 Penrose Pl Carlisle, PA 17013 (717) 240-0440 FYI. Here is the info on Rod's, it is more like a dinner, but has more room.
  21. There was a neat place called Rod's that had good burgers. It was in a 1950 cars theme, clean and good food. I have not been there for a few years though.
  22. Southwind25, you are welcome to borrow my 2'nd set of seats to try for a few weeks or so. They have plenty of side support. If I ever run them again I'l likely make some changes to them.
  23. In my working life a few years ago, we were part of the leading manufacturer of car seats. We were one of the first in that market. The letters we received from the great full parents of that had children survive horrific crashes was the icing on the cake of the job, it made it all worth while. The frivolous law suits from miss used products were the other end of the spectrum though. Enjoy all these coming years of your children, I sure did, and still do.
