  1. I have a 2.0 Zetec FW if interested
  2. Heres another one 2017_11_04_Ital.pdf
  3. sorry guys, i meant 5spd. I could still be wrong. one of those TR7s has a LSD in there. Anyway what you have should be a Morris Ital or Austin Marina axle. The pumpkin parts are interchangeable with Triumph Spitfire, GT6 and Dolomite 1850 (not Sprite). Possibly more. Look up the Ital Axle Debate by Grahm Skykes.
  4. cut a sheet of plastic to wrap around the inside arches as a barrier. secure it with bolts from the brake lamps and re- rivet the top line of stone guard rivets, or use screws. perhaps a sacrificial black trash can will give the pieces you need. And its removable. Add drain holes.
  5. If you got the Triumph TR 7 V6 diff you might have a LSD in there. If you got the 4 spd you can put in the Quaife QDF8K
  6. Three generations of Cortina got the GT badge. I would be very suprised if they all used the same drums. which Mk are you looking for?
  7. Well, knock-offs on a 7...thats not a coincidence. You had to get spindles for those.
  8. A project like this likely has traded hands several times, had parts break, refitted with whatever was available, etc. You can't go by the history books and say, this is what its supposed to be. Better to ID the part. I see no history of Lotus using a Cortina axle. They went from Standard 10 to Escort Mk1 on the S3. But with Lotus anything was possible regardless of the written history. Never say never. Facts are, Vman has a problem with sellers sending him parts not fitting, so something is amiss. Im suspecting he may not have the axle he believes he has. No offense Vin, could happen to anyone.
  9. Get seat time first. You may find that a helmet with visor will check several boxes. don't have to wear it all the time, but when you have elements issues, its the thing.
  10. More pics! Beautiful work! Spitfire wheels??
  11. Vman, What are the differences between the drums your getting and what you need? With more information we can try to narrow down the possible suspects. There were GT versions offered in MKs 1-3 Cortinas, according to wiki. If you have a specific series year production... How did you aquire this axle and what was the information about it? What is the final drive ratio? What is the lug pattern, PCD and thread pitch? Can we have pictures of the axle, pumkin and hub? It isn't enough to say its a Cortina GT, the rabbit hole is too deep. Especially with Ford.
  12. What kind of nozzle did you use? The one from 3M looks like it has a bulb that is too big to squeeze into small holes.
  13. Messy, exactly. And stinky. What makes these products worth it is an ability to tack to the metal and have enough creep to spread and cover bare areas over time. And not stink. It cannot stink if I can convince my wife to go for rides, it cannot smell. 🤢 Anything with lavender is ideal.
  14. lol. following, remembering that the S2 with swirlpot was to not use a thermostat. Im considering a similar thing with my Xflow, perhaps a 1/2" orifice restrictor. not because I ever had a cooling problem w a thermostat, but to eliminate a potential failure point. just commenting, not wanting to hijack.
  15. The usual suspects: Wool Wax Dinitrol ML Waxoyl Coroseal Fluid Film Cozmalene Krown (for the Canucks) LPS 3 Eastwood KBS Cavity Coater What say the gallery?
  16. Pictures? You did it right. skipping all the anguish, missing parts, knashig of teeth, and got a runner to start doing what the 7 seven was meant for. A selfie magnet.
  17. Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket A resemblance of a 7. The colors are a hint
  18. Why not, when Polaris can sell Slingshots?
  19. Sorry, but the black sticks stay with my car. How do your sticks fit on the basket top tube? They should match the curvature exactly. 7 sticks always have for 66 years. If they do, and your hood doesn't fit, your hood is the problem. It may have shrunk some. Can you set it up as much as possible and show us the problem areas?
  20. I have that floor jack. It gives me 23" of lift. I don't see any long reach that low anymore. Yea, caster weight rating is the first thing I look for. You have some serious heights going on there. 20" is still tight but i can manage. I don't want to poke the gravity bear.
  21. A 7 is a collection of various parts from different cars. These cars will have fan sites, forums and speciality aftermarket parts sales. You can learn more about a part by going to the fan base for that car. For example, if I want info on my rear axle, I go to the Morris Ital, Austin Marina & Triumph TR-7 experts (all three of them). Lucky for you, there is still much support for your engine. Check out Moss Motors and Rimmer Bros.
  22. So far from that list I like the CJ Auto's 5 ft. adjustable width but I have bad luck with stuff falling so I prefer a solid bar on top.
  23. Its either buy a built, made in china, too narrow in back, too wide up front, but will fold flat for storage set for $224 https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Portable-Adjustable-Sprint-Midget-Car-Chassis-Stands,403290.html Or, I can build my own in wood, cause I don't weld yet, for about the same cost. (Yes, I priced it out). Or I can buy yours. Must have locking wheels, or can be fitted with them.
  24. Make sure the piston walls will get adequately oiled in lieu of the normal pan splash. A DS pan may have a shallow pooling baffle under the conrods to provide enough oil for splash, while allowing the excess to drain to the sump. Ensure there is conrod bolt head clearance in the pan early in the project, possibly even before removing the engine. Bolt up the DS pan and hand turn the crank to check.
