  1. Russ That plug toward the rear is the water drain....... However, about an inch below it there is a rounded bulge that runs the length of the block. That's the main oil gallery. At the front end, facing forward, there is a 1/4 NPT plug you can use. It's actually where a lot of formula fords put the oil feed.
  2. no idea about the Ital units, but for reference, the cylinders on my Ford axle are .70
  3. You might check with Advanced Racing Suspensions in Indy 917-271-7100 they look like the Carreras on the Titan FF in my garage if so, they can rebuild/revalve them Charlie
  4. look for a tag on head---right front corner IIRC, next to valve cover
  5. Dave bean probably has them in aluminum
  6. I can't see a $35 mech tach being worth the time to install it, plus needing to figure out a drive for it. If you do it, probably need a generator from a Bugeye Sprite, they drove tach from rear of generator. Being a 1962, I would have expected it to be mech originally. Can't recall the name, but there is a repair place in Albequerque that I used years ago, might check with them
  7. No particular knowledge, but I always thought the manufacturer determined that---whatever they put on the original paperwork
  8. someone running Pikes Peak? LOL
  9. Hylomar removes easily with a rag and lacquer thinner or acetone
  10. speedo cable attaches to right side, but gear is removed thru left side
  11. If you do the Spitfire calipers, be sure to order the seal that goes between the caliper halves. It's not included in the rebuild kits. Some places will tell you not to split the calipers, but I've never had an issue, and it does make it easier. DO NOT REUSE THE OLD SEAL
  12. Don't know if you want to go this route.....but When I put the T9 in my Westfield last winter, I used the BH3 Car is LHD, so starter went on right side, and I still had to cut away a pretty good chunk of the left side starter mount to clear footwell
  13. if it's a type 3, the vent is top of tailshaft housing, left side, above the trans mount
  14. I run 91 premium non-alky in my 1600 If running pump gas, stay away from ethanol. Check your fuel cell, not all are rated for alcohol.
  15. Burton has 2 mounts that I looked at when putting a T-9 in my Westfield GBT9400 is listed for T9, but was wider than the tunnel I went with GB2E400, same basic unit but narrower How far apart are those mounting holes? dimensions are on Burton website
  16. I put a pair of these on a Formula Ford a couple of years ago, still going strong https://www.ebay.com/itm/161389461993?epid=1029951318&hash=item25938fc1e9:g:tC4AAOSwRLZUA9hy
  17. the top line to the header makes filling so much easier with holes in stat, the air comes out much better every manual heater valve I've used will close completely off to the races for the weekend I'll ask our engine builder if there is any internal bypass in a Kent, but I don't think so in vintage racing, most people are running stats in Kents it just makes everything simpler no need to worry about correct restrictor, or how much radiator to tape up
  18. Formula Fords have run for 50 years with no bypass and if you have a heater installed, and the valve is closed........
  19. option 2 header tank on firewall bottom of tank to pump port port on manifold plugged couple of 1/8 holes in thermostat bleeder from top of water outlet to top of header tank
  20. Taylor has been closed for several years Scott Young (former employee) took over the Hewland part of it, don't know if he works on anything else sy-gearboxes.com ---I think
  21. Pete's a good guy https://totalprecisionengines.com/product/ff1600-custom-rolling-engine-stands/
  22. my pre-lit Westfield measures about 126-127 without spare tire carrier, but with nose on I'd think diagonal, on it's side, would be fine
  23. What's the powertrain in the Stalker? How difficult to make it compliant?
  24. Whoever designed that original setup certainly knew how air cooled VW"s work LOL
  25. is this it? https://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides/tuning-guide-pages/ford-2000e-bullet-gearbox-guide.html
