  1. Got a set with a car I just bought, have no use for them. Look to be in VGood shape, glass not scratched or cracked that I can see. What are they worth to someone? thanks
  2. When I went to register my first Seven in Quebec (wiper and squirter less), I successfully demonstrated I could reach over the top of the windscreen and shoot water on it from a bike drink bottle LOL Must have caught the inspector on a really good day !!
  3. ...in a 7 ?!?!?!? not for long though I'll bet LOL
  4. As a recently departed Canuk, I can appreciate the "shorts and a parka" attire for cool weather Sevening LOL
  5. Staggering performance, yes, but as I said in another forum, it's a new record yes, but in reality, it is actually just the first record for this essentially new track (they paved a few miles since last record set). And next year, there will be yet another new current record, again not comparable, as they will pave the remaining dirt sections before next July... still, mind bending performance !
  6. " - So far, no obvious shortages. But I'm not that far into it yet. " LOL (this your first do-it-yourself Caterham? HA)
  7. thx guys, and yes, everyone to their own taste, but first upgradeitis item will be the wheels :-) my dearly-departed Classic had really nice Panasports.............
  8. should be here in a week or so!
  9. is your axle straight? ie, check what toe settings you have static, then consider what changes once dynamics are included
  10. Is it licensed?
  11. Not throwing rocks in particular, but I contacted him and got somewhat vague answers as to where it came from, what all was included, etc. Did not inspire me to bid. YMMV....
  12. This is only of value to others at this point, but 25 years of racing has taught me to keep several pairs of foam plugs in glove boxes, door pockets, briefcases, toolboxes, etc. I bulk-buy them in a box of 50 pairs, and spread them around liberally the day I buy them....

    Oil option

lots of FFord racers with Kent's swear by Rotella diesel oil.....
  14. ...and a very expensive hand grenade, as a few of our enthusiastic customers found out :-(
  15. I'm guessing an SR27 from the Britannica guys in Lachine?
  16. Imagine discovering a structural bamboo tube chassis under those skins.... LOL
  17. Twobone - not to squash your enthusiasm, but your problem identical to one I had, right down to the too-hot-to-touch coil. New coil fried only days later. Traced it to a poor battery that wouldn't hold a charge.... At least I believe so, no issues since I bought an Odessy...
  18. So my Caterham has indeed changed hands, but happily gone to a buddy who, while not a Lotus guy, is a life-long Brit Car fanatic as well as a racer. Now I just hope stuff doesn't start fallin' off and create a problem..... Got my newly-funded-eye on Brink's Birkin, a '62 in Texas, and a BDR in Michigan....
  19. try posting on VARAC website for someone close to you
  20. Hi What 5-speed is in the car? A stock T9 with very low first gear, or close-ratio with taller first, or Quaife, or... ? thx
  21. Re: clunk - if it happens as you let the clutch out and the torque load goes back in to the system, could be anywhere from the engine mounts back to the rear suspension. Also possible that you wont find "looseness" by hand with weight-on-wheels either, but shows up under torque. Tranny oil level - can only speak for a Quaife box, on mine there's a filler port on top, and a side plug that sets the level (pour in top until it comes out the side).
  22. hang on a second before you pull the engine; seems odd to me that the clutch slips in high gear, but not in the lower gears where the torque load is much higher; what exactly are you sensing and/or seeing? (4000rpm in 5th is pushing 100mph I imagine...?)
  23. Quaife make a more expensive box that mates right up to a zetec with a much more appropriate choice of ratios.....
  24. thx guys, I guess I'm an old cynich (sp?), but if I can't get any response from them as a POTENTIAL customer, what is their service going to be like after they get my money?
  25. Thx Fimi, you and I already discussed this on the phone, was wondering if anyone else had any experience with them?
