anyone heard yet if we're using the full 12-hour track, or just the club/test section?
  2. try race suppliers like Bob Woodman Tires, or Sasco Sports, for the tires they run on vintage racers that require 'DOT' tires.
  3. Could be worse, I was invited down to this country to live and work, paid over $40k in income taxes last year, and as a 'foreigner', I don't even get to vote on who and how its spent LOL
  4. Pegasus Racing usually has a good selection... (the car site, not the same-name offshore sailboat site LOL)
  5. Unless there's something sophisticated hidden inside the stock-looking side muffler, sadly no I'm afraid......
  6. been years since we ran Atlantic, we'll find out this summer; but 016 is a brick compared to other FA's we've had, might not break 160 with the SCCA map.....
  7. Never been quite sure what that means ... drivers side has extra length where pedals mount, and me at 5'8" can't reach them sitting in bench seat without a spacer, so probably "yes"; anything else I could check for?
  8. thx, hopefully the local bike shop as previously suggested will have one..... I'm sure we've all had a few close-calls in the garage that were funny back then, but have us thinking "hmmmm, that was close..." in our old age LOL
  9. thanks; ratchet straps can't be made short enough, and the tie-wraps were suggested but the 400+ pound load makes me nervous; could do without a circular dent in my forehead LOL
  10. We upgraded to a Swift 016, and current trailer is too narrow, so seems a good time to go longer as well as wider. 40-foot (+/-) gooseneck on the cards :-)
  11. I need a new race trailer, so sadly the toy has to go :-( Right hand drive, ‘bench’ seat, fully carpeted, 4-point harnesses, quick-release Momo anatomic wheel, live axle, open diff, 4-speed heavy-duty Escort gearbox. I put on 4 new tires ( 912-988-3515 or PM's
  12. Tried everything from Rube Goldberg to MacGuyver.... no luck. Have dampers with fixed perches; trying to get the front springs compressed enough to slip in the top collars. Spring needs to be compressed more than 3" to install the collar, (maybe a 400 pound load?) but small spring diameter and tight coil spacing baffles most standard compressor tools. ideas welcome thanks
  13. The post reads like there is an engine and trans included in that $25k kit.... how does this kit differ from the "no engine, no tranny" kit that costs $30k from CaterhamUSA? thx
  14. no-brainer, http://www.racingjunk.com
  15. ...and for those of us with limited fabrication skills, fill your cell with race cell foam; more than 15 bucks but way less than 239.
  16. the emotional Kent vs. Zetec argument aside, the conversion cost from Kent to Zetec is usually more than expected... figure closer to 8k than 4k. if you want Zetec, I'd say be patient and find one ready to use.... (says the Kent owner who also loves the sound) :-)

    2012 Birkin

If British Columbia is like my Quebec experience (with a Caterham), it won't matter when he bought the kit, or what year Birkin claims they produced it, the car will be titled as the year he presents it to their version of DMV. That could be why he claims its a 2012....
  18. ok, cheers :-)
  19. yikes, who pee-ed in your corn flakes? wasn't being critical whatsoever, just amazed that it was possible to spend that much, as I am the owner of a very low spec version, and merely curious... perhaps "lighten up" applies here? -- the peanut gallery
  20. Up front, I'm not a buyer at that price, but if you are willing, would you be willing to break down how the original tab got up to $95k for those of us with $20k older cars? (Understandable if you'd rather not) Cheers
  21. Tried selling these from up in Canada a year ago, but shipping costs killed the deals. Now that I'm here at zip31322, thought I'd try again. Some prices dropped a bit as well.
