  1. Can only echo the motorcycle mindset. When preparing for a long bike trip, you always have the checklist of gear. The same falls true for the caterham. This winter I took it on a 500 mile trip in the northeast. Roof, doors, heater and driving like a motorcyclist is really what you need. Replacing the A Arm and bushings really helped tighten up the rear end of the car. One thing that I have only gotten comments on are lights. Switching to LEDs makes driving at night a lot better, plus increases daytime visibility. I leave my doors on pretty much the entire time -> it's easier to commute with, and earplugs make life a lot better. Since you ride a motorcycle, you understand the need for good gear. I've found the sailing jackets with high collars are warm and wind/waterproof. Try out some things that will make you more comfortable.
  2. For backup you can get these at advance auto. Same as land rover ones for some reason.
  3. I went through this with my k series.
  4. What is the power like on it? SDK indicates its built by the factory? Interesting engine choice.
  5. Hey All, Ordered JAL LED front turn signals. They won't fit in my housing without significant modification. One of the LEDs got bumped off in transit. I paid $90 for both, looking for $70. Note, won't fit on a 95 Imperial S3 chassis, the indicator buckets are too deep. Can provide pictures etc upon request.
  6. Wait so I shouldn't install a mechanical or I shouldn't re-tap it?
  7. There is another 7 in Nashville. He's on Instagram, I think it's Nashville420r or something. He may be a good resource for you.
  8. Goated. Thank you!
  9. My sender went toast too. I've got all of the parts except for the adapter. Do you have the link for the m10 adapter?
  10. Count me in! @NSXguy is coming too he just doesn't know it.
  11. I rebuilt my entire engine to get rid of loud ticking tappets at idle. The noise came back yesterday. I think some noises you just need to live with for these cars.
  12. "The Lightweight" if possible please. Can Zelle etc.
  13. There is the Fish and Chips run in early May by Boston, then in mid may, there is the British by the Sea in CT. In early June there is British Cars in Bristol RI, where I'll be linking up with another 7 based out of South Eastern Mass. I'm trying to get together for some NNJ/Southern NYS impromptu meets, I have a coworker with an S4 who lives out near Beacon NY.
  14. Hey All, Meeting up on Sat (3/30) with some friends to go to Kinchleys for their car event, then will go hit bear mountain and probably old 17 towards high point. Anyone is welcome to join, will have a 914, a Lancia delta etc. Pm me and we can exchange cell numbers, weather is finally getting better.
  15. Oh man, I wish I had some extra cash, I'd be all over a CSR as the ultimate cat upgrade.
  16. Dude this is awesome! Happy for you... like waiting for the best Christmas gift, only to finally get it and it's better than expected. Hoping the weather clears up and you get plenty of time to drive it!
  17. Yeeep, cash flow on our side too Croc. Looking at longer term telematics planning, all OEMs are going this way for data / 1st and 2nd price level cash flows. Organizations are getting concerned when cash flow becomes more of a priority.
  18. Can echo the dreamer and croc. Bought the Cortina out of Louisiana without a ppe off Craigslist. I sent a check to the seller, who was cool enough to wait. The 7 I also bought sight unseen from the UK. I was in Alaska at the time and couldn't schedule time right away to see the car. I sent 250 as a sign of interest. The sellers were actually fantastic to work with- connecting over whatsapp from the arctic circle and really doing their best to show me the car in video etc. I had a friend in Ireland fly over to confirm the car in person too. Both times, I bought cars from low volume dealers. They each had about 8 cars or so in their inventory. The online places which show a lot of cars are sometimes too good to be true. Shipping was a bit different. For the Cortina, I used uship, which farmed out to a rando. It wasn't the best, but it worked. Paid after the car was delivered. International shipping was prepaid, got the car from the dealership in the UK to the port in NJ. I just drove it home from the port. International shipping included insurance for roro, if you use a crate, I'm not sure. Either way when you buy remote, you'll be sending money to a stranger. You can do everything and still get scammed. If it's a lot of money and you have time off you can take, it may make sense to fly out to the car.
  19. Are you filling out yourself on a website etc? Or using a broker? My daily is not registered to me, and insurance is an umbrella. Hagerty was able to insure my caterham as a regular passenger car (regular plates etc.). Going with a broker for the 2nd year cut my insurance in half and increased the policy limits. I'm insured for an agreed upon value. Tbh, if you're in NYC, that may be why the traditional insurers are giving you the run around.
  20. 7 is heading to Bergen County for work tomorrow. Hoping coworkers S4 is in. Be down to meet up for lunch etc if anyone is around Woodcliff Lake.
  21. You have been my motivation! I want to see your green machine and mine together. Fingers crossed you're ready the 4th week of march! @Vovchandr massive apologies for the delay and poor photo quality, but they're very bright!
  22. Can you build your kit (car)? And your lego? 😄
  23. Awesome, you need to get the lego set. It sounds like you have it in real life! This will be exciting!
  24. You have been my motivation! I want to see your green machine and mine together. Fingers crossed you're ready the 4th week of march!
  25. Will get you these this evening! Big improvement. Not reccomended for non plug and play cars. Not sure when they started using the plugs etc, but If you're newer and don't mind taking apart the old incandescent ones, it's a hell of a value vs caterham ones.
