i'm with cbuff. Next time run the track opposite direction and see if the left side still falls off?

Even better! I'm a cheapskate and skeptical to big changes so the bulbs were the easiest for me. Have held up so far but I'd imagine when they finally bite the dust I'll be ordering from you. 😎

Congrats! Might as well put that other car in your garage up for sale. 😉 Great color and looking forward to the build!

This is gonna be a riot. Love the spec and the 620 dash on that fits perfect. Its chefs kiss perfect. 🤌🤌

You're 15-20hp more than me. I commented about the lights which should make dallying it a lot better. K series is a bit finnecky but when it revs out it's an incredible drive. Finally got the chance to track mine and the cams from 5k to 7.5k were noxious. Welcome and look forward!

Sounds like an awesome adventure! Save yourself $300 instead of buying and wiring a full LED cluster and buy these LED bulbs. I still haven't figured out how to get my rhd headlights aligned well so I just turned them slightly. The LEDs help a ton, to the point where you can actually drive it. Plug and play, 5 minute upgrade. https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/latest-led-headlights-h4-philips-z-es-hi-lo-beam-conversion-9-32v Also look into picking up a soft bits tunnel bag. Helps to store your wallet etc so you're not constantly fumbling around etc. Welcome!

To be fair I love you being the data guinea pig for me so I can eventually copy your ideas and avoid the teething problems. You're right. @Croc you're too modest. That knuckle must have humbled you yesterday. 😅

That is a great line dude. Really well done. Vlad you were looking good out there too! Watching Tom, Simon and croc drive was like having an early morning coffee in the PNW by a river. You sit and watch in awe at how smooth moving objects can be. Definitely a master class in technique.

Awesome time and really appreciate everyone's generosity and kindness. I hope I can repay somehow. Last session on the track and the car finally felt dialed in. Will need new tires for next year. Apologies for the low amount of photos. Next time!

Coming in Friday afternoon. Will stay sat night and drive home Sunday. Anyone who needs an extra hand wrenching on Friday afternoon holler. -
Oh man, you can't give us this and NOT link to it. Superlight R is a K series with roller barrels? Sheesh dude what a monster.

Agreed. 15k USD wont buy you a bare bones base spec 7 in the UK. Lowest I've seen is 13k GBP. That's just over 17k cash. Add 3k to get it over here, and then another 2.5k to take care of misc odds and ends (as the cheapest example of any car will need work), and you're at the price of a car over here or BaT. These importers are building a losing business case real quick. -
Wait there's a guy on here with a Lola. @MV8 do you have the lola?

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale

Seeing a lot of inventory here. Higher than usual this time of year if I look at the past few years. Looks like caterham is similar to motorcycle/powersports/rv market. People are worried about economy and have restricted purchases. Seeing a lot of RHD imports here asking too much money. I've seen some of those cars on car and classic for 17k USD. Shipping etc to the US isn't 10k. Flippers are going to get greedy and cut their losses, which will hurt the legit owners. Very interesting. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I am surprised at the prices of them. -
@IamScotticus is a G. Love to see the support.

I'm with you. Shakedown cruise had the car randomly lose power and had the car running really hot (ecu was hot to touch), although temp gauge said 82 degrees. Power bleeding the coolant system this week, then hopefully the ECU link will cooperate so I can figure out this random power loss and will be at NJMP. The crunch continues, I hope to see you there! -
Thank you sir. As always the genie we ask. I'll back the cable off completely. I saw in an earlier thread that hand tight and then backed off was reccomendation.

Finally bled the coolant and adjusted the clutch. Took it out for a 35 mile loop. Car accelerates much quicker, feels like it is faster (even though it probably isn't). Engine braking is significantly more noticeable (think motorcycle levels of engine braking). Flywheel does require some finer tuning. Car is lugging less in wierd Rev ranges (40mph, 4th gear, 1300 rpm), because I don't think the map is pushing fuel/timing based on throttle sensor). Instead of lugging, it sounds almost like a misfire. It's stumbling. Acceleration fixes it. Since I'm only in that Rev range because I want to brake in the clutch nice and easy, I don't think it's a problem to worry about. If you're not on an unlocked ECU, I could see a new flywheel wreaking a bit of havoc with throttle load sites. I'd definitely do a flywheel upgrade. It's significantly noticeable but you'd need to do some real fine tuning.

Throwing this to the ether. Figured out my incessant rattling noise. Pivot at the bottom of the clutch fork is supposed to have a bushing. Didn't know that when I did the clutch. Any ideas how I could get some sort of bushing in there (or other type of insulating material on the pivot) without taking the engine back out. Alternative is to continue wearing earplugs, but for my 150 mile + trips, it does drive me a little mad.

Been riding for 16 years. Been hit with rocks, bugs, plastic bottles etc. 11 different countries and 50k + miles. Take my below as biased due to the above. Not wearing a helmet is a personal choice, as it is in stated which don't require helmets. It will be great until something goes wrong. Nothing may go wrong, but as every motorcyclist says "it's the other person not me".

Same thing I'm doing, let's see how it goes. NjMP has ample runoff. -
No sir you are correct. I guess whatever the weekend is before?
-
Absolutely. Would love to compare notes etc, see exhausts. This engine sounds fantastic up high in the Rev range.
