  1. This half top (SoftBits) came with the r400 but did not have the zip out for easy entry... I knew I would not use it unless it was so equipped. My local Saddlery did this for me in leather (of course) but in Az that won't be an issue and as it overlaps like the original ( full length round seal and hook/loop tape with heavy duty zipper) even in the rain it would seal. Now it will get some use come summer.
  2. More than 10 bucks....sent you a msg. as that is between the builder and the customer.
  3. The dif is here and arrived safely...tariff was over 400 bucks.... expected. I am sending the r400 to Josh in Denver for the install end of April. I just do not feel like the effort at this stage. Once did everything but no major stuff anymore. I'll update when the car is sent.
  4. Steve will build my Dif this coming Monday.
  5. They are quite a bit bigger especially the section that angles downward...that, I hope, assists with the turbulence reduction...damned can't hurt. I already have mounting parts so it wasn't expensive for the wings alone.
  6. Thanks.... bought a set.
  7. Where do you get those oversized wind wings?
  8. Thanks gents...good info and pics....
  9. I have the side wing deflectors but didn't notice a great deal of wind reduction...as demonstrated by that link you posted. You might be right about half doors not being the solution too .....
  10. It appears we are going to remain curious..... I may mock up something for a test drive before I invest or get serious about the issue.
  11. I have looked online but will ask here too as many who were chatting about this had the racing short screen. When I took the doors off the r400 and put the wind wings/deflectors on I was taken by surprise at the amount of turbulence, this with the stock full windshield. In my other 7, with the clamshells covering the front wheels, the turbulence is a great deal less...not really an issue doors off. They really do catch a great deal of wind and direct it elsewhere. Obviously not efficient for drag but great for the street. The cycle fenders/doors off r400is a wind storm. Has anyone gone the 1/2 door route with full windscreen? If so, how much did they help in your estimation. BTW, I do a lot of 60mph driving locally in and around our town as we have 65mph state roads and Hwy 73 (I pull out on 73 going to town from our drive)
  12. Pretty straightforward. The injectors were stock but they were over designed and gave great PSI under load. I did mount a gauge for that but it was never an issue.
  13. I supercharged a first gen Miata years ago.... that is really the way to go if you want it to move.
  14. What's that white stuff
  15. I'm still driving it anyway as I don't care what happens to this diff..... it is basically an open dif with toast carbon plates. It clunks/whines but goes fine with no hesitation etc.... I'll not take any long trips but will drive locally. I'll let you know if it totally croaks but so far so good lol.... iow, I don't care if it is rebuildable or not.
  16. I usually change fluids, always the oil, when getting a used vehicle to have a start point for maint. I'd drain the oil from a hot motor and measure the amount....it should be, as you note, about 4.5. I'd refill with the same amount then measure/mark the long dipstick for a reference point. This if you cannot source an original one.
  17. Your oil pressure is fine I believe.... altho I'm not familiar with your motor. That tic mark is 2 bar so you are showing 1.5bar or 21.7 psi. if I'm eyeballing the gauge right. My older Vauxhall does the same....right there full hot idle and 4 bar plus at 3k. That is also a wet sump. Not sure about your dipstick issue but if you are not getting a red eye oil light warning you should have enough in the sump especially if you were fine cornering at speed. Your Cat looks nice and congrats.
  18. Steve Perks/Tracsport is getting a dif together for me in 3.64 presently. He just received the wire/funds. I'll update as things progress to establish a timeline. He got back to me quickly with an invoice and wiring instructions. The wire took two days to go thru (normal internationally).
  19. Hey, my r400 has those little whiskers on the nose cone.... like a hot knife thru butter that thing is
  20. Perfect really.... given how well they perform they are fighting the odds.
  21. Thought about it but want a better deal than that. Any r400 deserves better than that
  22. 2012 build with the carbon no doubt in mine.... it is what it is.... failed at less than 3k miles. If you read the 30 odd page of 'Titan Failures' some had rebuilds with the sintered that failed in short order.... much smaller plates size wise they said compared to other units. Then again, some are very happy with the later Titans. Not taking the chance as it isn't cheap. If I were a track guy I'd go Drexler but the TS has a nice track rep too.... regardless, I've ordered the TS with a new casing and all internals.
  23. Mr. Perks has responded and can/will provide a Tracsport in a new Titan casing in my requested 3.64 ratio. I am waiting for a reply on a Drexler for cost analysis. Both are spendy but should never have to worry about this issue again.
