Just note one error - float height is 15mm not 6.5mm http://www.teglerizer.com/dcoe/rasorcom.htm

great pics guys. Its only a 9 hour drive from where I am....maybe next year

I bought a voltage multi-meter yesterday. Battery shows a steady 12.4 volts. At 1500 RPM+ the alternator is feeding 14.5 volts to the battery. With the headlights on high beam the charging voltage as measured at the battery drops down to about 12V However, when I turn on my headlights, I get a marked decrease in my idle and the car labours a bit. I have a new coil so that's not the problem. I will clean up the headlight switch connection next in case it is loose or dirty. I'm a bit surprised that the headlights would have that effect as there is nothing else being powered within the system other than ignition. I fear that my distributor arm might be on the way out

This picture says a lot about Super Sevens. Makes me want to hang out my tongue next time I'm driving

I was wondering when that one would get snapped up. It sure looked nice on the web Congrats

Paul, If you are ever down near the Mississauga area, you are welcome to take measurements of my 89 chassis RHD S3 Caterham. Sorry, I don't have any plans to be out your way

Thanks. I will check my shock settings and perhaps invest in some better tires.

thanks!

We did get out on the track. At this event, you put your car into the free car show and then on Sunday they do a bunch of parade laps. Its fun taking my son around Mosport. It has lots of big elevation changes. The parade laps are slow, but if you drop back you can let it rip for a bit. The turn out this year was a lot less than other years. I hope the trend does not continue!

I've watched a lot of Ring videos, but he makes it look like everyone is standing still! 8.07 is a very good time. Big brass ones!

Of late I have been driving a bit faster and I've noticed that on fast curves, the rear end seems to lose its stability after the suspension has settled. Its almost like the geometry changes quite dramatically when the suspension is compressed. Just when you need the confidence in the middle of a fast sweeper, she gives me a little squirm and the car moves around a bit. Is this just the nature of a live axle versus an independent suspension? I wonder is the inside wheel "toeing in" under compression? I'm new to Caterhams and find it just a bit unnerving. The "A" arm bushing is fine. Should I firm up the rear shock settings a bit?

Don't forget you will to put earplugs in and out if you drive on the hiway

I think a Se7en is defined by its basic architecture: -Box tube frame tightly wrapped around mechanicals -Simple aluminium wrapped around the chassis tubes - straight lines defined by utility not style -front engine -rear drive -cycle or clam shells -Everything focused on removing items that are not solely focused on making it go, stop, stear. Visually, you should be able to squint and see a series 3 Lotus. I think arguments against horsepower ignores the fact that an original seven was less than 100hp. A new Caterham can be had with 263 HP. I think what must bug some folks is the number of cylinders and the migration towards Detroit iron. In some ways maybe its a bit like the original AC Cobra. Was it a british car or a US car? If this car passes my squint test, she's OK for me and I would love to go for a spin. I now have a reason to visit my parents in Florida. Side trip to Brunton Auto is now a must

Looks like Christchurch has had another SHAKER

So sad! It must be ruinous financially. Is everyone selling and moving all at once? -
Anyone experience prolonged tinnitus from their caterham? I was on an all day high speed drive with the local lotus club and lost my earplugs. I should have asked my fellow club members to stop to get another pair or earplugs, but I didn't. My ears were taking a pounding. Then the next day I got on a noisy airplane. Now a week later and my ears are still ringing. Any advice (other then don't make that mistake again and pay more attention to previous posts about ear protection). How long do you think it will last based on experience?

You guys should come out to the Fall run. Once again a great (and very swift) drive in the country. Next time, I will bring the doors. We did a lot of 70+ MPH country road driving and I was feeling a bit punch drunk.

Thanks I will try to get under the dash and see what kind of vent block I can fashion for the summer.
