  1. We all forgot to mention passing the horse & buggies. Because I was at the rear of the line I got to see the faces of the kids as they pointed at the cars. I don't think of WV as an Amish or Mennonite area but it is. I guess it is as exciting for little kids to see Se7ens and an M100 as it is for a big kid like me to see horse and buggy (there was even a fully enclosed 2 horse rig). At next year's LOG in Gettysburg we will see more horse drawn wagons. I guess as long as we keep the noise down and give them plenty of room the horses will be happy.
  2. Lets see: 1 - speed blur 2 - slow driver in a blue corvette 3 - excellent doughnuts 4 - a couple of cool guys 5 - looks like I felt when I finally got home
  3. A few photos
  4. It was Lotus brand No arguments about Caterham, Birkin, Ultralight... being better. Glad to hear you are doing well. It would have been fun to have you along.
  5. Horrible waves of rain here. Glad we missed that.
  6. Very nice color combination. Good luck.
  7. It was awesome to see people pull over to give us a good run in the twisties. Except for the stinken corvettes in the way. Sorry Jack & Mazda, both vette owners. Thanks WV drivers. Still recovering, too much sun & vodka. Drove about 800 miles all but about 200 top down. Tough to keep up with those two in the M100. I had the tires howling once which is a bit unnerving given the drop offs in the area. It was nice to cheat and turn on the A/C or heat once and a while. It was great to meet Jack & Jen. Mazda was a great host.
  8. Just back and sitting down. Only 3 cars and 5 people but a great time. It was tough keeping up but it was fun to try.
  9. We will meet up with the group at either Point B or C. It is about 4 hours to "C" for us.
  10. Ya, a guess I'll have to bring her.
  11. A great event. The video opens with the two best car. IMHO
  12. Completely different car but I went from Porterfield to Pagids in the M100 and it transformed the car. Porterfield were better for auto-X after the first hard application but the Pagids are much better for most of my driving.
  13. Ya Hoo! The house is a mess and smells of paint (fixing up my computer, ham radio, TV room) it will be great to get out for a weekend.

Later this month there will be a LOG 30 committee meeting at McGovern's picnic. If anyone is interested in helping out with LOG this will be a good time check out the support group. Putting on a LOG is a lot of work but it is fun and very rewarding.
  15. This is a very interesting thread. How is the stability of the cars at top speed. I have to hold my elbows into my side as the car becomes darty. 1958 7 S1.

The new Lotus Ltd site is now operational. The LOG 30 hotel has been announced. Check out the new site, especially the LOG section. http://www.lotuscarclub.org/index.php
  17. It would be difficult to get us on the road by 4:00 AM to meet up at Gaithersburg MD by 8:00 AM. Give me a call so we can work something out. I sent you a private message with my phone number.
  18. 80+ mph Talladega Speedway. After 1 and a half foot to the floor laps the speedometer was wound past 100. That equates to about 82 mph. The speedometer broke shortly there after.
  19. We have been holding off on definite plans until we knew more. There is a car show I want to attend but this looked more fun. We would probably either head up 95 to 17... or just take 17...
  20. I like the idea of using tire strap. I have a set of chalks bolted onto the trailer floor that helps me position the car. I still tie to the suspension but don't put too much tension into it. I use airline track and it is great stuff. I place plywood over the trailer floor which makes the airline track flush.
  21. This is getting close. Is there any other information?
  22. Spend some time to read the comments on the Caterham article. Those Brits are nuts.
  23. Interesting reads. Tail of two Caterhams http://www.pistonheads.com/roadtests/doc.asp?c=47&i=20424 and a Tiger http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=20431
  24. What ramps do you use? I've looked at the "trailer" ramps but they are too expensive. All the inexpensive rams I have seen have a big lip on them which wouldn't work with my trailer.
  25. The cat should get the chair!
