  1. I hope that when the kit gets opened someone will be there to record it in great detail. A modern archaeological dig. A chance to record a bit of Lotus history that can be all too easily lost.

    Wtf

Riding in the back of a pickup is legal in VA provided you are over a certain age, 16 I think.
  3. Looking at the other cars (Citroen & Jensen Healey) in the background suggest that the owner is a glutton for punishment.
  4. I worked with a guy who's parking was excellent. When we would go out to lunch and he would drive he always parked with perfect spacing all around. He admitted to parking cars at a country club while in college. His was the only one who had not totaled a car. He had dinged a few but not totaled any.
  5. I think that Lotus did a 5 (or 6) wheel cart design. I never saw it except in pictures. I had pushed (pun there) to get a couple sent to LOG so we could have shopping cart match racing with the headline "Race a Lotus - Free!"
  6. Does anyone know times on a well driven Westfield 11? Much more aerodynamic than a 7 but much of the same suspension...
  7. Does anyone know him? Have an idea of his abilities as a speaker? Have his contact info? Please post or send a private message.
  8. Good luck on the sale of your ego. I sold mine for a cookie.
  9. There are few from the early days of of Lotus and Seven left. When one leaves us much history and passion are lost. RIP
  10. Excellent event. Rain made the ground so soggy that the show was moved to the BMW parking lot rather than on the grass. By my count there 8 Lotus in attendance. Reportedly 495 cars were signed up for the show. $20 bought me 3 AutoX runs in a BMW 135. Nice family car. Met a guy who claimed to have owned a #411 (an extremely early Seven). Also met a early Lotus dealer, since moved on to better things. Next year they will be having several track events at this meet. In 2006 I did several of these events (all in new BMWs) for $80. Best driving deal I ever saw.
  11. Seems like someone got a good deal.
  12. A hood & windscreen? I think he is going soft! On a bit more serious note I would be tempted to redo the nose and hood for a more integrated look with a bit more room.
  13. Looks nice. I like the S4 in blue. It even has the Lotus stripe and Lotus wheels. Good luck.
  14. How will all the heat escape?
  15. Have you thought about polishing the aluminum?
  16. Repair LR fender New transmission cover plate Refit bonnet Add Brake bias balance valve Add more pre-load to shifter Replace instruments & switchgear with period correct parts New Tonneau cover New hubcaps New rear wheel studs Steering wheel center Replace parking brake arrangement with the original setup Restore generator with tach drive Rebuild carb float valve Remake rear shelf panel New speedometer cable
  17. Some pictures to show everyone what they missed.
  18. I find it difficult to believe Se7en folks don't want to go to a picnic. Especially as it is in the heart of Se7en country.
  19. Is anyone else going to the 25th Annual Classics on the James Sunday, September 20, 2009 Brown's Island in Richmond, Virginia? http://cvbcc.com/classics/classics2009.htm There are usually a few Lotus & Se7ens in attendance. We will be bringing our Seven. I need to do some polishing before we load up. Hopefully it won't be as hot as it was last year. We had to bail out and visit the museum across the street in order to get cool. I would like to attend some of the Saturday events this year. The tour of the Moss Motors warehouse on Saturday should be interesting. We will be going to McGovern's picnic on Saturday and this show on Sunday.
  20. Is anyone else going to McGovern's picnic this weekend? We will be going. Taking the M100 again since it is a 4 hour ride. It is always a good time. Kids play in the pool. People bring lots of goodies. Sure you have to try and ignore the Italian exotics and a Porsche or two but mostly its Lotus and odd British stuff. http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f110/pals-event-pals-en-mass-mcgoverns-sept-19-a-77151/
  21. To those who don't know Feffman he has been an enthusiastic Lotus owner (especially Esprit). He has done a lot of volunteer work for various car events. If these events are anything like his previous events they will be a lot of fun and good value.
  22. Note the wind buffeting raising up the legs of his shorts. Needs a bit more aero control.
  23. The people at The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum are a great bunch. The museum is a giant step above what passes for the average car or motorcycle museum. Every mortorcycle or Lotus enthuasisats should visit. They were excellent hosts at LOG 29.
