  1. 80+ mph Talladega Speedway. After 1 and a half foot to the floor laps the speedometer was wound past 100. That equates to about 82 mph. The speedometer broke shortly there after.
  2. We have been holding off on definite plans until we knew more. There is a car show I want to attend but this looked more fun. We would probably either head up 95 to 17... or just take 17...
  3. I like the idea of using tire strap. I have a set of chalks bolted onto the trailer floor that helps me position the car. I still tie to the suspension but don't put too much tension into it. I use airline track and it is great stuff. I place plywood over the trailer floor which makes the airline track flush.
  4. This is getting close. Is there any other information?
  5. Spend some time to read the comments on the Caterham article. Those Brits are nuts.
  6. Interesting reads. Tail of two Caterhams http://www.pistonheads.com/roadtests/doc.asp?c=47&i=20424 and a Tiger http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=20431
  7. What ramps do you use? I've looked at the "trailer" ramps but they are too expensive. All the inexpensive rams I have seen have a big lip on them which wouldn't work with my trailer.
  8. The cat should get the chair!
  9. We had the only Lotus/Se7en at this odd little event. Rolls Royce & Bentley outnumbered MG & Triumph. Many people expressed interested in Se7ens, liking the open air aspect, minimalist approach and seemingly infinite variety of specifications. I was very surprised in that we took home a people's choice prize given that we were parked between a 2 owner all original Porsche 365 and a beautiful Ferrari 365. Seven's rule!
  10. I keep pushing for Williamsburg VA to create an asphalt lake city park. It could be used for car shows, auto-X, drifting, event parking... I think it would be a great boost to its convention business.
  11. Sounds like great fun. I wish I as within driving distance. I've visited Atlanta 3 times and never got to the Varsity. Driven by it once and ate elsewhere. What I fool I was. Have fun & please post pictures
  12. European rally rocks!
  13. I think the average Harley rider is older and probably remembers the Seven from the car magazines of his youth.
  14. It's been a while but I used a standard Ford item on my Elan. You could try any of the standard Lotus places DBE, JAE or RD.
  15. Classics at Lee Hall 8th annual Classics at Lee Hall Saturday August 8th, 2009 Newport News, VA We will be attending with our Seven.
  16. Would you consider a non Se7en? It is a bit far to meet & drive in our seven but it could be fun in our 1991 Lotus Elan (M100). Maybe we could act as the pack mule.
  17. Tempting but I can't make this event. Good luck with the event.
  18. Good air time near the end.
  19. This needs to be a wiki. Hint.
  20. Your pictures make me long for the open road.
  21. Have a great time. Thanks for all you, and all the rest of the board members, do for this web site and club.
  22. Oops. A lesson to all. Don't drink and post.
  23. Not sold at $31K. I very much want an Elite and that or light green would be my preferred color. For many years I thought that the Elite was one of the most visually appealing cars ever made. The bad press about the internal noise and fragility of the car put me off. After getting a ride in one at LOG 27 and speaking with several owners I now know they are not excessively loud or fragile. Oh, yellowss7 I agree that the TR-250 is a great looking car. My favorite triumph even though I have never been in one.
  24. For the younger crowd and those of us old guys with fast computers you need a page that allows you to pan around to see the museum. That would be very cool.
