  1. We had the only Lotus/Se7en at this odd little event. Rolls Royce & Bentley outnumbered MG & Triumph. Many people expressed interested in Se7ens, liking the open air aspect, minimalist approach and seemingly infinite variety of specifications. I was very surprised in that we took home a people's choice prize given that we were parked between a 2 owner all original Porsche 365 and a beautiful Ferrari 365. Seven's rule!
  2. I keep pushing for Williamsburg VA to create an asphalt lake city park. It could be used for car shows, auto-X, drifting, event parking... I think it would be a great boost to its convention business.
  3. Sounds like great fun. I wish I as within driving distance. I've visited Atlanta 3 times and never got to the Varsity. Driven by it once and ate elsewhere. What I fool I was. Have fun & please post pictures
  4. European rally rocks!
  5. I think the average Harley rider is older and probably remembers the Seven from the car magazines of his youth.
  6. It's been a while but I used a standard Ford item on my Elan. You could try any of the standard Lotus places DBE, JAE or RD.
  7. Classics at Lee Hall 8th annual Classics at Lee Hall Saturday August 8th, 2009 Newport News, VA We will be attending with our Seven.
  8. Would you consider a non Se7en? It is a bit far to meet & drive in our seven but it could be fun in our 1991 Lotus Elan (M100). Maybe we could act as the pack mule.
  9. Tempting but I can't make this event. Good luck with the event.
  10. Good air time near the end.
  11. This needs to be a wiki. Hint.
  12. Your pictures make me long for the open road.
  13. Have a great time. Thanks for all you, and all the rest of the board members, do for this web site and club.
  14. Oops. A lesson to all. Don't drink and post.
  15. Not sold at $31K. I very much want an Elite and that or light green would be my preferred color. For many years I thought that the Elite was one of the most visually appealing cars ever made. The bad press about the internal noise and fragility of the car put me off. After getting a ride in one at LOG 27 and speaking with several owners I now know they are not excessively loud or fragile. Oh, yellowss7 I agree that the TR-250 is a great looking car. My favorite triumph even though I have never been in one.
  16. For the younger crowd and those of us old guys with fast computers you need a page that allows you to pan around to see the museum. That would be very cool.
  17. People are starting to appreciate the old Caterham's as classics. There is even a bit of talk about SimpleSevens.com starting to maintain a registry to keep track of the history of these cars. Cool car. Try to write up the history of the car noting any modifications and parts replacements. As the original owner(s) you can add to the history of these cars.
  18. Yell if you are in real trouble. I am local (Newport News).

More ideas for events: - Paintball - Talent show - Ice cream social - Darts - Slot car racing So what do You think? They are definitely different from the normal LOG events.
  20. Congratulations, CO (at least the western part) seems to be good Se7en country.
  21. That's the problem and joy of these cars. Every one is different. Good Luck. Glad nobody was hurt.

    Log 30

The LOG 30 committee held another meeting over the weekend. Committee positions are being filled, although there is always room for more volunteers. Many husband and wife teams are stepping up to fill the various positions of this massive event. If anyone wishes to help out with in any way please feel free to send me a private message. I am particularly interested in talking with anyone who has knowledge of or experience in - graphic arts - staging art gallery exhibitions - children's art At this stage of the game the messy business of contracts is the pacing activity. Many of the event details depend on what comes out of the contract negotiations. SimpleSevens http://www.simplesevens.org/ is keeping a list of the people who have committed to attending LOG 30 with original Lotus Sevens. LOG is only 15 months away!

    Clunker bill

Bummer. I traded in a clunker (1996 Tbird) for a Honda Fit in May. I loose.

The LOG committee have discussed having scales and a dyno but I never thought of turning them into a contest. Loudest Lowest Lowest weight Highest HP Highest power to weight I guess reversing some of these (e.g., lowest power to weight) might be fun. At one LOG there was a prize for the newest owner (won by a guy who had taken delivery of a new car that day) and longest time owner. Please keep your ideas coming.
