  1. Excellent news! Never too late in the season for a drive! :seeya: Steve - I would join you if I had a functional right foot but alas!:bs:
  2. Just as NJMP Drivers Club has called itself Monticello for normal people! I think that makes it clear what Monticello is like with its Wall Street jockeys who steer with their ego. If you can work out how to get your CSR down to NJMP we can set you up on a Drivers Club day(s) as a guest since you missed the July event.
  3. Steve - I recommend ordering the filters through Bruce at Beachman Racing. I since learned after that earlier post that my oil filter thread is not standard CSR260 as my engine did not come through regular Caterham Cosworth channels since it was a special order :banghead: Took me a while to get the right filter too! Hope you are having fun with the CSR?
  4. Ok its time for the weekly morning coffee search for sevens. Usual rules - no affiliations or connections to me - just reposting as a service to show what is out there for the prospective shoppers/dreamers/"time wasters": 1973 Lotus/Caterham Seven Its still out there - same one from previous weeks with 17k miles, twin engine and 4 speed box, asking $33990 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-Caterham-S3-1973-super-7-2-owners-13-k-orig-mi-surviovr-s-match-twin-cam-big-valve-/331340421081?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d256d97d9&item=331340421081&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Its so nice to actually see Birkins for sale rather than handbags when you go looking. Nice looking 2002 Birkin in Buford GA, listed last week with the playground monkey bar sized roll bar. 2L zetec with 5 speed T9 in yellow upper body, ali lower body with dark green (I think) fenders/wings. Bid $910 with reserve not yet met in FL. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-NA-Lotus-seven-project-/161441664316?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2596ac4d3c&item=161441664316&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Reserve is somewhere closer to $1500 per the Craigslist ad I found for the same car http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/4697258503.html Bargain of the week possibly. A 2003 Superformance S1 in black. Asking $14000...wow! I think this is a USA7s forum member's car and I can see he is a reluctant seller. Smartest seller I have seen - codes the ad with all the right search words to be easily found - give the man a beer! http://palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/4696850426.html Same seller as the S1 with a Ultralite S2k asking $27500 with a great spec http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/4696364122.html The new build 2013 Caterham CSR with F1 team colors is back at a price of $79500 http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4700333894.html Electric (or is that eclectic?) blue project car from Janesville WI is back for $1500 http://janesville.craigslist.org/cto/4674910930.html This Lotus 7 replica project car has periodically emerged for sale over recent time $5450 in Huntsville AL http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/4672068031.html And here is the last one - 1974 Lotus Seven S4 in CO asking $29900. A repeat visitor to this thread. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4706549273.html
  5. The more frustrating thing is wondering where our political leaders are in providing leadership on the environment at times like this.
  6. I would not worry too much Subtlez28, Shane does that all the time to me! :iamwithstupid: I would take reassurance from the fact that your Storker will never be as dusty on track as Shane's.... Anyone who does a Storker (r other seven) build can take as long as they want as the more time and effort that goes in produces a far more polished and beautiful result. A quick assembly is not always a good thing in our cars! :seeya:
  7. So what type of furniture does that make a Storker? :smash:
  8. Here is a Lotus Seven S2 for sale on Fleabay in MA http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-cosworth-1964-lotus-super-seven-restored-excellent-driver-/331336583869?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d25330abd&item=331336583869&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Bid is at $20100 with reserve not met. From the ad:
  9. The SV is a Caterham too! The SPF S1 is slightly narrower than an Caterham SV but wider than the Caterham S3. I fit in the S1 and I am a monumentally fat bastard so I would say go give it a try.
  10. Andy (Pinballking2) had a Pre-Lit when I last chatted with him in 2013. I don't have his email but you could PM him through this forum.
  11. Speaking of Superformance owners, I just found this lovely specimen 1965 Superformance S-1 for sale in Wilmington DE. I have see this car in person at the Carlisle Kit car show back in 2009 (I think that was the year) - it was in beautiful condition then. Great color. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-Super-7-Superformance-S1-/321544323842?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4add890302&item=321544323842&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Buy it now is $21500 with 4 days left to run on the "make me a bid"
  12. An intriguing, arguably sevenesque vehickle (after quite a few drinks) http://www.ebay.com/itm/161440921603 A Velocity Exo Contour. 2.8 V6, 5 speed "tiptronic" out of a VW Passat. 1760 pounds with 190hp so a respectable power to weight ratio. Seats look comfy. Chunky rear tires. Not sure about the slab looking front view? Interesting car to check out. Current bid $10100 with reserve not met and 1.5 days to run.
  13. Is this on the chassis or the engine block? Samcor was the Ford South African joint venture in the 1980s. Ford eventually sold out but Samcor still exists today and I vaguely recall produced crossflow engines up until the early/mid 2000s for Formula Ford competition. It should be either a 1600/1700cc and there should be a stamping of 711 somewhere on the block as well.
  14. Like $15+ more They are so competitive - always trying to catch up to Caterham!
  15. That owner exhibits good taste and must be a friendly type of chap - there is a USA7s sticker on the rear roll bar! Is it me or would that roll bar be suitable as scaffolding for a 30 story building? Seems high
  16. Hey, if you are volunteering it saves me any impolite language! :jester: Just kidding - we are fairly gentlemanly on this site in spite of women never making an appearance!
  17. Nice looking Locost 7 race car for sale on the Grassroots Motorsport Forum. Quite an appealing package of Duratec, 5 speed Miata box, torsen diff, red and ali. Asking $15k in PA http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/open-classifieds/locost-7-for-sale/89812/page1/
  18. John - They say power corrupts and absolute power is actually pretty neat. I love it! I would have done the same! Hi Jesse - Welcome to the forum! I used to live in Portland in the Old Port downtown and I get back there frequently to see friends. You have a great state in which to enjoy a seven in the 6 weeks that is known as "summer". You will find all of us quite ready to help you spend money on a seven, upgrades, etc! :seeya:
  19. Once you have laid them they don't go back in?
  20. Just use a raw egg or three. What could go wrong? :iamwithstupid:
  21. From when I did my CSR shake down runs in Denver a few years back, I will say that Skip's club group was very inclusive - great bunch of people. If any group can avoid the snobbery they can. Its probably just an East Coast thing anyway Gee do I remember this. Brand new car, unfamiliar roads and the group just went hyperspace on me at warp 100+! Absolutely brilliant roads. One day I want to ship a seven back out there to try the roads in depth. Unfortunately LOG will coincide when I am scheduled for French wine testing in 2015.
  22. That was back when the Series 4's were snubbed and made to park at the back. :bs:
  23. OMG! They are are off a Greyhound bus! I recognize the seat fabric :ack::willy_nilly:
  24. LOL - I missed the front suspension completely being mesmerized by the electrical wiring!
