It has to be mixed emotions - I can feel the pain. May it all work out for the best and you regain your eyesight! -
Yes - he did that opening a bottle of tequila. Those screw tops are so dangerous. Ask Shane to tell you about the time he got groin strain in a strip bar. He slipped in a puddle of beer on the floor! :jester:

So its Saturday morning, pissing down rain here, morning cup, sore broken foot, shingles and looking for a distraction....lets see if I can spend money for someone! GunshipDriver gets my vote for ad of the week with his WCM Ultralite S2K for sale at an amazingly good price for the value offered. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-WCM-Ultralite-S2K-WCM-Ultralite-S2K-Lotus-Super-Seven-7-Caterham-CSR-Clone-0-60-in-/171524580542?forcerrptr=true&hash=item27efa964be&item=171524580542&pt=US_Cars_Trucks A 1995 Westfield, registered as a 1965 in CT. 1700cc crossflow, T9 5 speed. A Bob Yarwood built car according to the owner. Very impressive looking interior from the photos. Only 2050 odd miles according to the ad. Bidding at $17100 so far and reserve not met. No BIN price. Bidding history looks interesting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Westfield-Lotus-Seven-SEi-Westfield-SEi-Lotus-Seven-Built-in-1995-Registered-as-a-1965-/171522275081?forcerrptr=true&hash=item27ef863709&item=171522275081&pt=US_Cars_Trucks A repeat visitor - 2002 Birkin in GA. Yellow with black (or dark green?) wings. 2L Zetec with a T9 5 speed, 11000 miles, skyscraper scaffolding roll bar with a USA7s sticker - just what every forum member needs. This is a re-list so I guess he missed reserve before. $10000 current bid not at reserve and no BIN. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-2002-birkin-factory-built-version-of-1967-lotus-super-seven-ford-zetec-engine-/251698953900?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3a9a6d3eac&item=251698953900&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Here is a bump for Busa's Westfield previously advertized http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/cto/4734313125.html Some of the past Locost basket case chassis projects are still out there - no point in re-listing those. This is a re-list but it has enough potential to justify it - CMC Locost stage II roller with lots of bits for it. $7000 http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/4732177967.html Back again, a 1962 Lotus Seven S2 asking $38500 http://rockies.craigslist.org/cto/4685355300.html And a gaggle of Caterhams that have been seen before but are not selling for reasons you can work out: 2001 Caterham $38500 - 500 miles on the clock. Red stripe over white. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4736386992.html 2013 Caterham CSR $79500 Caterham F1 team livery - probably not a proud moment for a new buyer... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4736386270.html 1984 Caterham - red with clams. Been for sale off and on for at least a year now. Asking $24500. Crossflow, 4 speed, right hand drive. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4736387449.html 2003 Caterham Superlight R - Zetec in yellow. Asking $48500 http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4736385932.html Wire wheel has a yellow 2009 Birkin for sale at $24900 http://wirewheel.com/1967-2009-Birkin-S3.html Daily Turismo has a Locost race car for sale at $15k. 2L Duratec with Miata 5 speed, registered for the road in PA. I like the Beetle tail lights! http://www.dailyturismo.com/2014/10/lotus-se7en.html And just so the Storker guys are not left out, back again is a "1962" Brunton Sooper Stalker asking $39500. 3.8L V6 with soopercharger. 269 RWHP weighing in at a porky 1640 pounds. Comes with a new looking Hallmark trailer which is a good sweetener to this deal. http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/lotus/1414030674/1414030674ss.htm -
If you are trying to match up bits from British kit cars then the chances are you will find it here. http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/ Unfortunately it is in the UK but they do ship. Alternatively using what you information you find at CBS then you can use it to source the part in the US at a place like Moss Motors. http://www.mossmotors.com I am sure there are other places that forum members can recommend.

oooh - I missed it was your first post Doh! :svengo: Welcome to the forum Bugzy! :seeya: You have great looking car. You even run my favorite number on it!

Its actually Dennis Ortenburger - Tony was his brother who ran a bratwurst and beers bar. http://www.amazon.com/Lotus-Seven-Independents-Dennis-Ortenburger/dp/1902351126 Tony Weale also wrote a good book that may be relevant: http://www.amazon.com/Lotus-Seven-Preparation-Restoration-Maintenance/dp/185532153X/ref=sr_1_16?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1414744130&sr=1-16&keywords=lotus+seven

There are matching wheels so it must be stereo! My vote is that they are Panasport wheels and auto-correct has struck again!

This is why I don't mix electric drills with alcohol: http://usa7s.com/vb/showpost.php?p=32745&postcount=1 I do also recall another time when I was living in Tokyo, 2 or 3 or more margaritas along and I tried to demonstrate how (not) to juggle a Japanese carving knife - it landed point down through the middle of my left big toe nail....:ack:
-
Yep - lopped the tip off my finger once with one of those thingys! Luckily I found the bit and they could reattach it. Welcome to the muppet club Shane! I also never recommend mixing electric drills with alcohol....:banghead:

This is scary....really scary....but I agree with Rikker. :iamwithstupid: You pay good money for insurance to restore your car back to original condition. You are in accident that is not your fault. Why compromise? You need to find the right repairer that can help you fix your car properly. It may be more hassle than you want to deal with in which case short cut to your heart's content. But if I was in your shoes I would be finding a better repairer.

You make it sound like I am a sinister dirty old man trying to pick up little girls in the early hours and you link me with Chris in the same sentence :bs:  I think I like this one for Steve (Blokko): http://janesville.craigslist.org/cto/4674910930.html LOL - with Steve everything is tight fitting. He is built for comfort like me! :jester: Could not be anyone I know?

Busa's Westfield is listed on Craigslist here. A truly superb car to inspect if you ever get the chance. I suspect it would be a truly jaw dropping drive too with 350hp! Asking $31995 here. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/4728257643.html and http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/4725464076.html A bunch of Locost projects are out there - some repeats as they are having trouble selling (I must resist commenting....): http://janesville.craigslist.org/cto/4674910930.html and http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/4672068031.html and a bunch of parts here for anyone looking for spares: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4728471725.html 1962 Lotus Seven S2. This weekends round up of cars for sale discovered while sipping a nice hot cup. I have no affiliation or connection with any of these cars. The fact that you may end up buying one and being deprived of "visiting privileges" by the wife if you get yourself into trouble, is totally your fault. I will however offer to buy a beer in sympathy! :jester: Race-cars.com has a nice spanking 1962 Brunton Stalker (Storker?) for sale in TX. Asking $39500 BUT it comes with a fairly new looking Hallmark trailer. I really like the color scheme. http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/lotus/1414030674/1414030674ss.htm The 1973 Lotus Seven/Caterham with 13000 miles with twink in CA with an AZ title is still out on Ebay asking $30k http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-Caterham-S3-1973-super-7-2-owners-13-k-orig-mi-surviovr-s-match-twin-cam-big-valve-/331340421081?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d256d97d9&item=331340421081&pt=US_Cars_Trucks 2002 Birkin 7 featured previously on this thread. Zetec with 185 RWHP per sellers dyno, 5 speed T9, nicely yellow with black wings and a swing set for a roll bar. Asking $29950 Buy it Now. As a previous victim of hitting the BIN button while heavily inebriated and buying a car, I advise caution... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-2002-birkin-factory-built-version-of-1967-lotus-super-seven-ford-zetec-engine-/251680866121?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3a99593f49&item=251680866121&pt=US_Cars_Trucks It has the nose that only mother catfish would love but it does look vaguely sevenesque (and I also resemble Brad Pitt's wallet...in looks not contents!) 1999 AIV Panoz Roadster. 3K miles. Never titled and still on original MSO in IL. Asking $69995 buy it now on Fleabay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-AIV-1999-panoz-roadster-brand-new-untitled-on-orginal-factory-mso-last-known-/161458600003?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2597aeb843&item=161458600003&pt=US_Cars_Trucks And I typed "Westfield" into the Ebay Motors search line and came up with this beauty: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volkswagen-Bus-Vanagon-WESTFALIA-VW-VANAGON-WESTFALIA-CAMPERVAN-/271644947590?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3f3f4cf486&item=271644947590&pt=US_Cars_Trucks In nursing home beige, it has around the same amount of fiberglass as a Westfield. Owner says he cruises at 60-65mph and gets 17mph so its about the same as JohnCH and his Westfield. Probably goes around corners better though! :seeya: No Brunton Storkers on Ebay today - I just get Brunton compasses (compii?). Heading over to Craigslist for shits and giggles... As identified earlier by the smart forum members, this Superperformance for sale is a likely fraud ad - BE CAREFUL - I posted it again so that if people see it they are on their guard. You have been warned... http://palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/4696850426.html Posted elsewhere on USA7s by GunshipDriver a nicely developed WCM Ultralite S2k. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/4730685345.html Refer to his forum ad here for more details http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10024 A 2006 Caterham 7 Superlight R in LA. Black on black. It has a Ferrari horn :conehead: Asking $35k -
its just like Christmas unpacking all the goodies that Santa brought! :cooldude: What color scheme are you going to paint your new car?:bigear:

Tom Carlin in CO is the current Birkin USA importer. He took over from Dick Brink maybe a year or so ago. Both are really nice guys to deal with. I would give Tom a call on 970-376-5188 as he should have spares on the shelf. http://birkindirect-usa.com

Busa - It really is sad to hear of your affliction and has to be personally difficult for you to accept, especially when the rest of you is in good health. If you want to come down and hang out with us at NJMP drop me a PM - you would be welcomed although 2014 track season is winding down. I can understand you may not be allowed to drive on track but there is a passenger seat if you need a speed fix. :seeya: Also, you may want to send a PM to NecronomiconJules (Eric) as he was looking to get in touch with you re your Westfield. -

Yep its Busa. LotusTalk chain of threads seems to refer to a $31950 price but hopefully he will confirm on here. The workmanship, dare I say, craftsmanship in that car is astounding. I thoroughly checked it out at a CT car event once and it is amazing to study the attention to detail he has put into it. Sadly, I never got to meet Busa at that event though. -

Pfffht! Too far away! Lol  I am in the midst of bringing what cars I can out of my storage shed in Australia to the USA. In theory you could import it through the usual shipping process. Its over 25 years old and if you are lucky it will sail straight through. Then again if the Customs guys decide it should be inspected instead of cleared through by paper pushing then it gets more challenging. If it is subject to the physical inspection then be prepared to demonstrate: - Needs to have an original manufacturer chassis plate that shows VIN and date of manufacture - If the chassis plate does not have date of manufacture then be prepared to get a certificate from the manufacturer verifying its age. I just paid E100 to BMW for this on a 1975 car. If the manufacturer does not exist then a recognized historical society could certify it - not sure who would be that for this case. - Needs to look period/patina correct. Brand new engine (original period correct engine just freshly restored) in an old chassis will cause the EPA guys to freak. Ask me how I know this! :ack: - Evidence of the chassis plate being removed for restoration and then re-riveted back on in a messy or non-original way will be an issue. My importer was telling me about a car that had this issue - it was denied entry because there were 2 mismatched rivets so they were concluding it was a new car with an old VIN plate riveted on. - they may want to compare to original spec to make sure no improper modifications have been made. Discovered that one with a later addition spoiler on the beemer...:bang head: You could probably just go and buy it on bill of sale/CA title sign over and drive/trailer it across the border and pay duty on the way back in. They would be more concerned there about proving it is not stolen and that you pay your import duty. Its the hit or miss nature of the import process that makes it frustrating.
