An alternative if you are coming from the south, i.e. heading north on I-95. Cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge following the I-295/NJ Turnpike signs. Take the Rt 49 south exit (its not numbered and is before exit 1) towards Salem and then Bridgeton. just past the center of Bridgeton you can then pick up Buckshutem Road by branching right and run it straight to the track. This is backroads driving, pleasant, not too congested. It also has the advantage of being a straight line route from the Delaware Bridge so shorter miles. If you miss that exit then no problem, stay on the NJ Turnpike to exit 2 and then pick up Rt322 east to Rt 55 south and then get off at Exit 24 and follow Tom's directions above. I won't comment on the directions from the west - don't know that well enough. From the north its always the NJ Turnpike - south to Exit 2, pick up Rt 322 East then Rt 55 south to exit 24. If the NJ Turnpike has one of its usual traffic melt downs then if you are exit 7A or lower then use your GPS to exit and get you the mile west to I-295 south and follow it south as a substitute to the NJ Turnpike. It has a Rt 322 exit plus it also has the Rt 46 east exit which also connects you to Rt 55 south. So even if traffic craps out you have options to keep on rolling.

Hi Seb - Jay is planning to be at NJMP on the Saturday so you can have a chance to chat directly.
-
I hope to be shaking down both of my Caterhams on Saturday. As I have guests I will be running white group so I can take them out as instructees.
-
Michael - Unfortunately not everyone likes their real name being open on the forum out in the public. Its up to the individuals. I can do a handout sheet for people at the event and then you have to match them up to faces. Speaking of Buddy....is he turning up?

This week on EBay there is a 2008 Caterham for sale, looks good, good price, just the small problem of being located in Poland. Pity about the import issues which make it a non-starter.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-black-/162095320474?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25bda24d9a:g:hKAAAOSwnFZXVZ7D&item=162095320474 Stalker http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-Kit-Makes-Brunton-Superstalker-Super-Stalker-/331869652975?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d44f907ef:g:-osAAOSwhRxXJ3iJ&item=331869652975 1966 Lotus 7 in Vancouver. Beauty pageant photos yet no engine bay photo. Looks really nice but description is lacking. Buy it now at $42000. Opening bid is $39000. Seems pricey for this paucity of ad content. Oh hang on...its being sold by an upmarket VW dealer. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=11112&stc=1 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-Super-Seven-/252420697511?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3ac5722da7:g:9O4AAOSwqBJXWxyw&item=252420697511 Superformance S1 - highly modified $41380 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-/331869652720?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d44f906f0:g:ohkAAOSwoBtW1uMP&item=331869652720 2005 Birkin in TX asking $26k http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/5587929661.html Locost http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/5618051772.html 2010 Stalker crash project for salvage $10950. Looks like critical front chassis tube damage. May need an entire new one since it is not square/warped. So need to strip it down and re-jig to check. Too much work and cost to make it work for a salvage title car or track car - worth in the teens because of the impaired title. Price is too high at this point to make the project pay given the risk. Even if you halve the price to $5k I am doubtful. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ctd/5593768115.html A better looking Stalker because it is in one piece and undamaged. $22k in TX http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/5588693086.html Whizzy's Westfield - see separate forum ad http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/5611804816.html Someone has been active flagging the 1990 Westfield off Craigslist? Hi Jay - Welcome to the forum. I would have a chat with Paul (Wemtd) as he is in Connecticut and can give you the scoop. I also know an off forum contact with a Stalker if needed. I would also look at the SEMA website here. Lots of resources about titling and registration in all states. http://www.semasan.com/page.asp?content=titling&g=semaga Cheers mike

Roman was asking about overnight storage. Yes I can accommodate at least 4-5 cars in addition to the other occupants of the garage.

Just mark your starting point with a sharpie or something. If it all goes wrong you know how to get back to where you started from.

Had to look them up http://www.coolguitars.ca/7.htm Then I remembered I had seen the kits for sale before http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?4850-Project-Kit-Super-8-Lotus-7-Replica

Its amazing how a paint job can really update a car and make it look it more modern. :iagree:
-
No Tom its a relative height/level position issue. Go to page 10 of the assembly instructions linked below http://sevener.fr/articles_redac/westfield_sei_construction_manual.pdf While the diagram and verbiage is pretty crap (equal to Caterham and Birkin in their instructions!) it does talk about adjusting the master cylinder pushrod nuts to get the desired brake pedal position. I would assume you can do the same with the clutch pedal as the instructions are silent (or Westfield's don't have clutches?). That would be my first suggestion. If that does not give you enough adjustability then the second suggestion would be to PM JohnCH on this forum as the ultimate Westfield guru and see if he has some technical ideas. Third option is to reach out to the guys at Manik LLC who are the Westfield importer and see if they have a better suggestion.

36? Gee you are a slow learner. Why don't you give up and just buy the Dodge Caravan minivan? It will solve all your problems. Go on...you know you want it.... :jester:
-
I can vouch for this car being in immaculate condition having seen it a few times in person. I also know Exoticars well as they have done work on my some of my Caterhams in the past.

The Lotus 7 Club of the UK has chassis guides. Anyway the pre-1990 VINs did not identify by year. You need their club historian who MAY be able to provide details on chassis history - factory records are not the most complete or organized. Here is Folis Jones in his Birkin at VIR Does not show how fast he gets though. And I recall he had aero modifications? Caterham speedos seem to over read by about 4-5% at vmax - at least my 2004 and 2011 do when measured by GPS speed. So Michael's 139mph speed is probably a true 133-5mph.

You know, I am just a sucker for garages filled with gorgeous cars. Friday afternoon, pop a beer and have chat on cars. -
Hi Will Welcome to the forum! :seeya: If you are thinking of taking the Birkin to VIR then maybe think about joining the sevens group on track at NJMP on the July 4th long weekend - look in the regional posts area. You would not be the only bike engined car present! Cheers mike

I bet that goes round corners steady as a rock....
-
You would have better results calling Dave direct at his phone number in the ad above, as I dont think he comes on the forum that frequently.
-
Thats an encouraging amount of progress. One thing has got me though - do you panel under the seats or do you leave it open a'la Flintstone style for power and braking?
