  1. GOOD JOB MIKE! Gale
  2. You are probably right but I can't pump gas fast enough.
  3. I usually get "What is it?".....Its a Lotus. Most people are familiar with that word so I can get on down the road. Next ...."Can I take a picture? I don't think I can describe it to my husband."......Then "That is a really beautiful car.".......Thanks........But if its a car guy or girl ....you are going to be there for a while. Gale
  4. I have an electric jack that raises the front of the trailer and the back of the truck so it's a straight shot into the trailer. Works great until you forget to use it. Tares a big hole in the pan. Quick way to drain the oil.:banghead: Gale
  5. I picked my cable up at Napa. The spring was built into the cable assembly. Here is a pic. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=17547 gale
  6. The Mastercool flaring tool is great! It works great for making male OEM quick disconnect fuel lines. Your project is really looking good John. Gale

  8. Loren Here is a good explanation. http://automotivethinker.com/transmission/dog-engaged-transmissions-aka-the-crash-box-and-dog-box/ It's basicly a trans with out syncros to do the speed matching. It uses dog teeth on the face of the gear that are slamed into wider slots on the matching set. The slots are wide enough that the teeth have time to engage quickly but make a clunk as the speed matching is instantaneous. The syncro/clutch system takes more time to match speeds but shifts smoothly. Gale
  9. A picture would be great. Thanks Gale
  10. A picture would be great. Thanks Gale
  11. How does the fender fit up against the back of rear clip. Any pics? To looks like your fender extends beyond the rear clip, but that may just be the angle that the shot was taken from. Gale
  12. I found two matching prop rods and plastic bearings at a junk yard off Toyota pickups...no charge...they work great. Gale
  13. That thing is going to be a blast in the Georgia woods.....see YA there? Gale
  14. Loren That's exactly how it feels . Gale
  15. degoetz Thanks for the post..very simple and concise. Gale
  16. Ground to both= less to worry about.
  17. 3D printers are getting very inexpensive. http://www.banggood.com/3D-Printer-Assembled-Me-Creator-Mini-Desktop-Kit-With-2004-Display-p-959232.html
  18. John I did it your way on the last two Stalkers. Nothing wrong with it. It works great. The isolator is simple and allows shorter high guage wires, if its near the battery, and slightly less resistance, possibly. I dont know how it meshes with race rules however . gale
  19. Jevs It is basicly a 12 v 200 to 500 amp normally open contractor to disconnect the battery totally from everything except the ECM. It is controlled by the master switch which you can put any where you feel is appropriate. Gale
  20. True ......but routing those heavy guage wires up to the cut off switch is time consuming and a PITA. Gale
  21. Design is ok but they got the tires on the car backwards. 😊
  22. Which battery isolator did you use? Gale
  23. So.....who won the Axis or the Allies ?
  24. No, but they don't miss a thing. I had my car at the factory last winter. They adapt good ideas into their cars quickly but try to stay within average skill and tool levels. Gale
  25. I did a similar thing on mine. I originally just wanted to keep the throttle assembly in the foot well. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=20898 John Meyers had suggested that I use 4 inches of travel to make the car more controllable coming out of a corner. So I worked it in to the design. It makes it nessary to add a spring for more tension of course, but the result was well worth it. It makes feathering in 500+ hp a very smooth intuitive operation. By that I mean you can hold it on the edge of traction with out having to work at it .....accelerating or exiting a corner. Gale
