  1. Mike, Nice, clean install. Being that my catch can was originally for a late model Camaro, I still have the beautiful milled aluminum spacer left over. Gotta' find something to use it in.
  2. Avon has been contacted. As for alignment specs, don't have any. For what it's worth, the tire was mounted on a straight axle rear end.
  3. Hey, guys, Looking for opinions/answers. A friend of mine ran at Road Atlanta this weekend. He has a Stalker with an LS1 and runs the same size Avon tire I run (10.7 x 21.5 x 15). His tires are A15 compound where as mine are A11 (A15 being a bit softer). His tires were new and he ran 23psi for both front and rear. Course was run cw. During the third session, the LR tire began to malfunction . . . see photos below. To help put this in perspective, I ran at MSR Cresson this weekend (Stalker w/ LS6) on my A11 tires; 23psi front and 22psi rear. The end of the day marked my third track day on these tires; 18 heat cycles and four hours run time (three track days with 6 twenty-minute esssions each) for my tires with normal wear. Tire pressures for my first track day were 20psi front and rear and the second was 21psi front and 20psi rear. First track day was run cw and the second and third were run ccw. We discussed blistering as a possibility, but why only this one tire? Even though the LR tire is taking the most abuse, the malfunction seems extreme. . . . your thoughts??? :grouphug:
  4. I'm not familiar with the LS3, but I can only imagine the PCV system is equal to or, better yet, improved over the LS6 design.
  5. Well, sometimes modifications work as expected. With the oil pan baffle, windage tray ( deflector shield, as GM calls it) and 6 quarts of oil in the engine (5.5 quarts normal), I ran six twenty-minute sessions on Saturday at MSR Cresson (1.7ccw) and experienced absolutely no low oil pressure light illumination. Oil pressure, per the gauge, remained at a 50 psi minimum during LH turns throughout the day. At the end of the day, the dip stick reported an approximate 4 ounce loss. I recovered approximately 3 ounces form the catch can on my oil/air separator. The LS6 PCV seems to work as well as, if not better than, expected.:party::party: Here’s a short video of the recovery:
  6. Well, after a lengthy—and very informative—discussion with the folks at SNL Performance (LSx gurus) in Dallas, TX, I decided it best to run the PCV system full-time rather than completely delete it for track-day use. I revamped my PCV file accordingly. :deadhorse::smash::banghead: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=23806
  7. You buying an M-Spec from Brunton, or is there already a used one on the market?
  8. Sorry, WRONG THREAD!!!
  9. You buying an M-Spec from Brunton, or is there already a used one on the market?
  10. The closest 'auto playground' to me is MSR Cresson, a minimum six-hour trek at best. Man, if I had somewhere to play that was only an hour away . . . ! I'd keep the car and play when time (TIME/MONEY FOR ME) permitted . . . you only live once.
  11. So, that's what a bright orange Cayman looks like leaving the track! :jester:
  12. Just tried it; got the same warning. :ack:
  13. Just want to confirm; vibration, not a bounce. For what it's worth, check for the possibility of a lost wheel weight. Aside form that, I agree with MHKflyer52, possible tire cord separation. Since you've experienced this before and resolved the issue by changing tires, I'd think tire breakdown (cord separation).
  14. Well :toetap05: minus the Stalker I NOW own with its ???, I owned a Birkin with a Duratec. Now . . . About my Stalker . . . :jester:
  15. Costly, yes, but never for nothing . . . you learn . . . you share . . . others learn. :grouphug:
  16. Great find! I'm, a fan of Brooklands. Changed my windshield over to brooklands last winter. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=21338

  19. Great 'track beast' photos!
  20. Another 7 owner and I have discussed the possibility of doing a track day together next year at Barber. Anybody know what it would take to get a dedicated 7 day at the track?
  21. Attachment is much better. Thanks for sharing. I'm corner weighting my Stalker this evening. We'll see how it goes. :smash: :deadhorse: :seeya:
  22. I heard from Glen Minehart today. He told me Brunton Auto is preparing an all new web site and thatvut will have a new Stalker forum.
  23. Okay, I was finally able to post a new thread using Google Chrome. The new format apparently doesn't like my current version of Internet Explorer. :cuss::bs::banghead:
  24. Well, if I wasn't confused, I certainly am now. :svengo: This is what I see on my PC when I first open Groups: :deadhorse::deadhorse:
  25. I can't post a new thread, reply or anything else.
