  1. During my last track day, I placed the mic underneath the dash feeling sure this placement would 'do the trick'. And off I went for six twenty-minute sessions. That night, when I got home, I realized that realized that I had never turned on the mic! ARRRGGGG!!!!! :cuss: My mic wasn't up me arse, but something else was. :svengo:
  2. That's :smilielol5: I'm glad I'm not the only one having mic issues. I can't seem to find a good spot for mine either.
  3. Looks great, Mike.

    Too Soon

Hats off to KTVU apology: http://youtu.be/mPNl2S30MF8 X
  5. Pumpkins should be outlawed and Halloween canceled indefinitely.
  6. If banned NASCAR fans do happen to show up at the Austin race, don't worry; they tend to to migrate to the left hand-only turns. Good seating elsewhere.
  7. Sorry about spelling errors in the last post, pecking this out on the Bat Phone and spell check sometimes has its way with me. :/
  8. The safety washer is worth a try for oassing ibspection. Personally, I have always run safety washers on any 'open-ended' hiem in the unlikely event of the hiem joint incurring a hard (catastrophic) failure. I refer to a hard failure as when the hiem housing separates from the spherical joint and, in turn, the hiem housing separates totally from its mounting point a slips over the retaining bolt while leaving the spherical joint inplace. A safety washer, placed directly over the upper/opened end of the hiem joint, would aid in keeping the hiem housing in place if a hard failure occurred. Even if the car could pass inspection 'as is', I would still employ the use of aafety washers.
  9. Running an external Walbro on my LS6 powered Stalker; works great.
  10. Perhaps safety protocol and procedure will be reviewed and revised accordingly. One idea might be to mount helmet cams on the pit crew and stream the up-close-and-personal video to the masses.
  11. To the best of my knowledge, all Birkins emit the use if hiem joints in lieu of ball joint type rod ends. My Birkin had hiem joints. With the time, energy and expense you've put into this build (not to mention heart, soul, sweat, blood, etc.), I would, if necessary, have machining done (mounting brackets, couplers, etc.) to allow the use of ball joints. X
  12. I second the motion . . . GO-FER it!!!
  13. As far as the brake light not working, I wouldn't bother with it. You're planning on GOING, not stopping.
  14. Really like those tail lights. Where did you get them?
  15. That didn't take long. Please introduce us to the new onwer . . . and may you own another Seven soon. :seeya: X
  16. First of all, let me humbly say this; on any given day, no matter how quick / fast one’s car is, there is always one with a quicker/ faster (although, probably not cheaper) car. Having said that, I have owned a handful of American-bred performance cars; a few Z-28 and SS Camaros, Cobra replicas, and the infamous Mustang 5.0; all great cars in their own right. As for Vette’s, I have never owned one, but I probably hold the record for having driven/test driven the greatest number of these cars (C1-current) without the privilege of ownership or having any affiliation with GM. However, nothing I’ve owned, or have personally driven to date, has produced (for me) the unadulterated excitement of driving as has my Stalker. The car’s close-to-the-ground stance, open cockpit and LS6 V8, combined with no nannies (no antilock or power brakes, no traction control, no power steering, no magnetic ride control . . . no nothing) makes for one adrenaline-producing, seat-of-the-pants thrill ride.
  17. I'm going to start my on critter-getter eradication business. Gonna call it Lucky "7" Pest Control. With my Stalker's V8, I can have a two-for-one sale during the grand opening. And once I equip each exhaust with the new patent-pending Gopher Trap mufflers, it should be a real money maker.
  18. 135 lb . . . Yep, I remember those days. Welcome aboard!
  19. With all that going on, better have a couple of beers.
  20. Mike, While my car is not an Ultralite, it does have Ultralite fenders. Here are a couple of photos of my car where you can see the RH side exhaust turn out and where it is located in relation to the fender. The exhaust, as is currently designed and installed, was originally done when the car sported the smaller, fiberglass fenders. As it sits, I have no issues with exhaust fumes. However, as stated by rss, I would asdvise making turnouts a tad longer than mine as I do have slight browning on the lower front edge of the rear fenders from exhaust gases. X
  21. When I first saw it, I though it was a 'modified' Dutton.
  22. A Classic Stalker (look) / M-spec (suspension) is available from Brunton.
  23. Mike, Excellent work! Beautiful build!:hurray::cheers:
  24. Before changing the MAP, try WOOD alcohol injection! :smilielol5: Yes, I know, corny at best, but I just couldn’t help myself.
  25. Looks like a stress fracture. Do you still have the piece that broke away? If so, weld if back together and reuse it. If not and you need a replacement, and can't readily locate one, the bracket should be fairly easy to fabricate. My two cents. X
