  1. Avery, a straight-axle Storker is plenty...if I can keep it on the ground. :jester:
  2. . . . . :svengo:
  3. I thought I sensed a croc of #@^%& while bowing to the sacred dirt mount. :smilielol5:
  4. Bill, We convoyed silently to the accident site (headlights on) where we stood in a circle, tossed old driving wrist bands on the dirt and paid homage to the gods of speed. :jester:
  5. Mike, The nasty hole still lurks. I think I could actually hear it snarl at me each time we drove by. However, I did learn that track ownership has ceased running the track clockwise because of additional accidents; one such accident being that of a car losing control and striking the wall coming out of turn one for the long straight. The crash apparently resulted (this, I was told) in a 45 minute removal time of the driver from the car and his being airlifted out afterward. Sorry, no follow-up/verification info.
  6. Well, Sunday, Feb 28th was the one-year anniversary of my accident at Texas World Speedway (TWS) in College Station, TX. I celebrated by returning to TWS on Saturday (Feb 27th) as a guest of, and a guest speaker for, The Driver’s Edge HPDE that was being held on the 27th and 28th. I was invited to speak to both the instructor and driver groups. Afterward, I hung out for the day and enjoyed spirited rides with both instructors and advanced drivers for a total of three sessions. My first outing was with the instructor group in a track prepped Miata; I have a new-found respect for these little cars, especially when paired with talent. My next outing was in a C5 Vette that was also prepped for the track and who’s driver was as equally talented. Both car and driver were impressive. The last outing of the day was in a Viper (again, prepped for track-only use). While the Viper reigned supreme in the power department, my favorite ride was in the slowest (straight-line performance wise, that is) of the three cars…the Miata. The little Miata, with its near stock power plant (headers, cold air and tune only) rocked in coming the closest to mimicking a 7 in braking and cornering. By the end of the day, I’d had three fun-filled sessions of uneventful laps at the track that had tried to kill me a year earlier. I even finished up the day with a couple of mild off-track excursions, something I desperately needed to help overcome my well-earned fears (no, nothing airborne :jester:). While I did not get to drive, it was great therapy to get back on the horse, so to speak, even if I did have let someone else hold the reins. Until my car is back together . . . .
  7. Mike...I though that was tacos, frijoles and salsa...personal gas addative. :jester:
  8. GBOLT, Another good tire choice (at least, I've had positive experiences with them) is theToyo R1R. Great all around tire in the dry…and the wet. Ran these as a rain tire on my Stalker at NJMP a couple of years ago (rained the first day of the event). If interested, this is how they performed on that very day:
  9. Ditto, Jerry. I didn't see on the website either.
  10. Skip, What you have is merely a minor mechanical issue. This, however, is a speedo fail . . . . :svengo:
  11. Rebuilding my broken Stalker…upgraded it with a new chassis.
  12. You can purchase terminal covers from pretty much any parts store. Purchased these from O'Reilly's: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=21192 http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=21864
  13. I saw this last year. Worth watching if you haven't seen it…good info on what to look for if your Cat has a few miles and your looking to refresh.
  14. Personally, I'd settle for a large order of 'well done' Storker. :jester:
  15. Seb, You need a source of power (battery) to the outlet with a 30 amp fuse between the power source and the outlet, and a ground for the outlet. It's pretty much that simple. If you want, you can add bells and whistles such as a toggle switch for power and an indicator light.
  16. Seb, I run a Traqmate system. Not the cheapest, but will run two cameras, data logging, sync data and video, downloadable, etc. (same system I used at the 2914 NJMP event). See my install and Traqmate website: Install: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=25221 Traqmate: http://store.traqmate.com/default.asp
  17. Good read this morning. There's aslo a Birkin lurking at Wirewheel... http://wirewheel.com/2003-Birkin-1967-Lotus-7-for-sale.html
  18. Dave, You're welcome, and, yes it does. And I do like watching your video with my earphones on...your car sounds so...angry!
  19. Well, Mike, that would be two too many creature comforts...and probably a good idea to lay off the salsa.
  20. All this talk of S1's being track worthy, bolt on roll bars and such. The proof is in the pudding…skip to 12:32 to see what TWO S1's look like on track. Then watch the complete video. Surprised Dave hasn't posted this yet.
  21. Okay, Dundee, where's my morning read? :cuss:
  22. Skip, if I ever need to stir a hornet nest, I'm calling you. :jester:
  23. Brit, That is deserving of applause! . . . And a good laugh! :smilielol5:
  24. Randall, There's your answer...penned by your own hand. Everytime you see a Seven, and you no longer have yours, you’ll be pining the loss. Do you really want to put yourself through the misery and heartache of NOT owning a Seven? . . . . . . . :lurk:
